They got hit hard by the Fall 2024 hurricanes, but they're back!

Drove by so many times because I thought it was just a dive bar. But what a surprise. The food here is amazing. Even their run of the mill items are prepared to perfection. Love the Octopus, and the Cuban. Always exceptional.

Good Cuban sandwich and great cosmo. Potato salad is ok but different. It's chopped potatoes olives onions and dressing. Good food but wish the menu was bigger and had more dinner choices.

I can't say enough truly amazing things about this place! I called last minute in the middle of a tropical storm and they were able to accommodate 20+ people for my rehearsal dinner. They provided AMAZING service, even better food, and an environment that was so welcoming we will remember it for the rest of our lives! I can't recommend this place enough! A must try if you are in the Bradenton/Anna Maria island area. The food was wonderful and the overall price was not bad at all!

Great place for lunch or dinner right by the beaches. The menu is like nothing you're going to find in the area. The word fried is nowhere to be found on the menu. The small plates are perfect for a light lunch or get several to share. We've tried several of them. Every one is a winner. BUT, the spicy grilled octopus is amazing. Tender, sweet and spicy. So good we ordered a second one last night. Gotta try. And say hi to the owner Bob while you're there. He's always there and the perfect host.

Food is always delish. The cheese plate is really good. Always packed but the servers and bartenders are always so pleasant.

    Great Menu.

Great selection of entrees! I had the Cubano sandwich which is the best I've had. Really is an amazing menu, lots of choices. Note: this isn't a burger, fries and fried fish place, much higher end restaurant but at great prices. Hello Augie

When you drive up to this place, you think that there is no way this is the place that has great reviews. From the outside it looks like a complete dive . Once you get inside the ambience builds. It's part sea shack, bistro and dive bar. It was our anniversary, so we made a reservation. When we walked in and said our name, we were shown to a table that had a reserved sign on it. That was really cool and a nice touch, even though the restaurant was pretty empty (8pm on a Sat night?!?!?). We started out with two of their signature drinks, the smoked old fashioned, done with rum, and my wife had the coquina. My smoked old fashioned was simply amazing. Smoked at the table and in the top 5 drinks I've ever had. I tried my wife's coquina and it was so good as well. Our server was really good and honest about food and drink opinions. We ordered a cheese plate to munch on while looking at the menu. A nice presentation of cheddar, havarti, and house made sage cheese with some toasted bread, olives, candied nuts were really good . Next came the beef Bradenton and the soup of the day. The beef Bradenton lacked flavor and the beef was over done. A miss on this . The soup of the day was a mozzarella cheese soup with broccoli. Sooo different, unique, and excellent. Every bite was delicious . For main courses, I got the arroz congri and mojo pork. We live in Southeast Florida and there's always a debate about Miami Cuban food vrs Tampa area Cuban food. I'm biased to southeast Florida Cuban food, this version of congri and mojo marinated pork was really really good . Pork was amazingly tender and moist . The congri hit the spot. The side of mango and papaya really upped the level of the dish, My wife got the shrimp gambitto. The waitress told us it was the most popular dish. I thought it was good, but not amazing . Pasta was a bit over cooked and the dish was very oily. It had great flavor though. For dessert we tried the key lime pudding . It would have been much better had it been served in a graham cracker shell or topped with graham cracker crumbs. It needed that graham cracker texture to balance out the creamy ness of the key lime pudding . It was just ok to be honest . Overall I'd say this place is a huge hit if you order correctly. I am giving credit for the really good service and the risk the chef is taking with some of these dishes. You can tell real thought goes into the menu.

We stumbled upon Slicker's while trying to find a place off the island that didn't have a 3 hour wait. I'm so glad the long waits drove us past Slicker's and we stopped because this place was AWESOME It started with the staff complimenting my boyfriend's shirt as soon as we walked through the door, so I knew this place was friendly. We were seated and ordered a couple of cocktails - the Key Lime Colada and Coquina Dusk. Both cocktails were excellent. The Key Lime Colada tasted exactly like a piece of key lime pie in a glass and Coquina Dusk was fruity with a little tang, just the way I like my cocktails. Everything tasted so fresh and not syrupy at all. We followed those cocktails with the Rolland with the Foamies and Blood Orange Cosmo, both recommendations from our server. She didn't steer us wrong because they were both stellar. We're from Houston, which is known for being a great food town and I'll say that the cocktails at Slicker's can absolutely hang with the best! We also ordered the cheese board appetizer and patatas fritas to snack on and both were very tasty. We followed our snacks and cocktails with dessert - the chai latte creme brulee which is hands down one of the tastiest desserts I've ever had. It was just the right level of spice, perfectly caramelized top, and comes with sliced strawberries. You HAVE to try it with the strawberries!!! I can't say enough good things about this place. The service, drinks, food, and music were all outstanding! Go check them out ASAP!!!

Omg these shrimp cooked to perfection and full of flavors

We grabbed reservations for the outdoor area to enjoy the weather and were thankful for the shady tree cover. This time we opted for some bites and though the menus change seasonally, I would recommend anything featuring tomatoes. They use truly fantastic heirloom tomatoes that remind you what you're missing with the watery ones we get at the grocery store. Also recommend the Mediterranean Platter. It's full of veggies and the dips are YUM. As usual, the cocktails didn't disappoint. It's never a weekend in AMI without a visit here! Previous Review: 5 Stars for the best cocktails on AMI, and a craft cocktail bar vibe you wouldn't necessarily expect here. (Plus, the service is AMAZING) We walked in (no reservation) after dinner one weekend evening and we were greeted by Matt, who found us a spot at the bar. He gave us menus and a "wellness shot" -- delicious little concoction to wet your palate! Right away I was blown away by the interior and the menu. This looked like it belonged somewhere in Denver or Chicago, but I was thrilled to find it on the island! Matt helped guide us to drinks we'd like on the menu. I ordered the Purgatory, made up of Bourbon, chocolate bitters, agave and premium mezcal. It was divine!! We also ordered some warmed olives, and they were hot and so fragrant. Definitely something I'd order again at the bar. I was stoked to see they have a veggie-specific section on the food menu and can't wait to go back for dinner. I'll definitely make a reservation though, as it was pretty full. Next time, in terms of drinks, I have my eyes on the espresso martini (off menu, but saw a pic on Yelp), and the kiss kiss bang bang. Thanks to Matt and Emily who helped us with our drinks along the way. Sometimes these fabulous craft bars can be pretentious, but the service here was a huge standout. Can't wait to return!

We have a house here and are here a few times a year. Lobstercargot was so good and the bread they serve with it is amazing. The chicken special I had was also so fresh and flavorful. We were quickly seated for lunch, and our server was attentive and friendly throughout the entire visit. We both ordered the chicken tortilla soup, and it was amazing -- incredibly rich, flavorful, and comforting. Definitely a standout! Service and food were both excellent. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the inside of the restaurant smelled a bit stale, and unfortunately the women's restroom had an unpleasant odor. Hoping that's something that can be addressed, because otherwise it was a really great lunch experience.

We've been coming here for years, referred tons of people, and genuinely loved this place. Unfortunately, the food quality and service have seriously declined over the last few months. We ordered the Wicked queso(almost $14 now) and it came out ice cold. When we mentioned it politely, the server looked at us like we were stupid for bringing it up. No apology, no concern. It came back missing the guacamole and was still barely lukewarm. Then the fajitas arrived. The meat was unbelievably salty, like it had been dumped in salt, and the vegetables were completely burnt and charred beyond edible. What really made the experience worse was the attitude. Every issue we brought up was met with annoyance instead of customer service. Not once did we hear "sorry" or "how can we make this right?" It honestly felt like they couldn't wait for us to leave. It's disappointing watching a place we once loved go downhill like this, especially in such an amazing location. Hoping they turn things around, but if this keeps up, we're probably done coming back.
