    Fried Mahi and fries
    Bob S.

We decided to stop here for lunch based on a recommendation from a friend. We ordered a fried mahi sandwich that came with fries and a bowl of their daily special which was Fisherman's Stew. Add a coke and a beer and the bill came to $40 before the tip. The sandwich was very oily like the filet hadn't been drained properly after coming out of the deep fryer. It was edible but only after removing most of the breading. The fries were pretty good. The Fisherman's stew was a small bowl of soup with a few small chucks of fish and some cut up vegetables. It didn't make for much of a lunch and I left hungry. Overall it was a disappointing experience and we won't be going back. They have a full bar, inside and outside seating and free parking. The service was OK and even though they advertise being on the water, you're sandwiched between a couple of buildings and there isn't much of a view. Two stars.

Really fun outdoor restaurant!! They have indoor and outdoor dining and the outdoor dining overlooks the water with direct views to Sarasota. They have lots menu items that are seafood and not seafood and a nice drink menu. If you're going for dinner or brunch, I would recommend making reservations as they get busy. I had the shrimp & grits, was delicious! A special thank you to our server, Arizona, she made our lunch very extra fun- her service is superb!!

We have been fond of Snow Crabs for many years. We have been meaning to go to the Cortez Kitchen for the Wednesday night special for sometime and we decided to go last night. They have outside and inside seating. The outside area is on the water and you can watch the birds. The place was busy but we found a table (seat yourself). The server came over with the menus and took our order for drinks. We didn't really need a menu as we were there to try the Crabs. Looking at the menu we were made aware that the restaurant offers a nice variety of food. Our order was delivered quickly and we enjoyed every morsel of the crab legs. You will thoroughly enjoy this well kept secret in this quiet fishing village and the amazing crab legs We Highly Recommend the Cortex Kitchen. You will not be dissapointed.

The shrimp bowl with coconut rice is delicious!

A local favorite! Great food, casual ambience and live music on the weekends! We havent had a bad meal here.

    Snow Crab meal on Wednesday.

Wednesdays are snow crab starting at 3PM. We ordered a 2.5 and 1.5 pound meal. I had two miller lites and my wife had a sweet tea. The finger potatoes were very good. Crab was good. Bill with tip was $95. Great views of a working dock When they say casual they mean it. Fun place with a cool vibe. Lots of locals. Worth a visit.

Sat at the bar and was basically ignored. Went next door to the Swordfish Grill. Apparently they don't need or don't want the business.

We started with the carpaccio and artichokes to share: the carpaccio was pretty good, nothing too special. The artichokes were amazing. One of the best artichoke appetizers I've ever had. They were soft and tender and the sauce paired deliciously well. Very unique. I highly recommend trying. Scallop appetizer: the scallops were cooked very well, I thought the caramelized onions were not cooked that memorably, they also weren't my favorite pairing with this dish. The sauce was ok, the scallops were the star, the other components were not the best but I enjoyed the appetizer Shrimp and scallops linguine: (blackened) The shrimp and scallops were very tasty and well cooked. The pasta was al dente and sauce was good, maybe could use a bit of salt but the dish overall was very good. Gnocchi and medallions: the gnocchi was surprisingly good, it's hard to get good gnocchi but these were really good. The sauce was delicious!! And the medallions were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. I'm ordering this again when I come back. Sea bass: really good dish composition. The eggplant and zucchini ratatouille paired really good with the pesto and the mashed potatoes, and the star of the show was the fish, cooked really well and seasoned very nicely (got it blackened). Highly recommend. Brussels sprouts were also a really enjoyable side. I will happily come back :)

Highlights are lots of great tables with…read moreviews of sunsets over the Gulf of America and world class service by Chris who was hustling taking care of so many in the heat and doing it with a smile on his face. Nicely done! The views of the water and dolphins are amazing around sunset. Food: Decent in my most recent visit. The fish grouper tacos can be fried, grilled or blackened. The meat was huge, not just scraps like at some places but large pieces that barely fit in the taco shell. The toppings had hot peppers that overpowered the taste. The provided green sauce was also a bit spicy but comes on the side so you can apply just the right amount or none at all. At $30 this was a bit steep for tacos with a scoop of rice. My friend had grilled Red Snapper that was good. At $38 this is near the top range of filet pricing. Alcohol: I tried the "Meet Your Bahama Mama" which was nicely prepared @ $12. My friend ordered a custom drink with DOUBLE shot that was properly made but wasn't entirely finished. It was a bit more subdued vs the Mama. I tried it and couldn't tell there was two shots... $15 for the later. Water: they don't offer tap water, instead charging $2 for bottled water. One star off for this. I was finished with my cocktail early and sat the next hour with nothing to drink. Parking: free across the street in the lot on the north side. However there are numerous trailers blocking parking spots and others are labeled "compact" so when it gets busy you might need to pay at the adjacent lot. On a Tuesday in the offseason there were free spots available. The restaurant also has a large area under a tiki roof that is really beautiful with numerous TVs playing sports. This area has huge ceiling fans keeping things cooler than the tables out near the water. One star off for a super bad fly problem that occurs when your food arrives. We spent an hour waving our hands over our plates. At times there were ten flies trying to land on the food. We asked if they had the fly fans some places have, but none are available. As bad as this is why haven't they invested in some of these battery powered fans that really work well? Amazon sells battery and rechargeable versions for $6 each. Total for 2 entrees, 2 alcoholic drinks & 1 water with 20% tip: $126. Yikes! Justifies my 3 star rating. They also hit you with a 3% credit card charge. Ridiculous for a place already charging high prices. Just screams cheap nickle and diming. The current Yelp score for this restaurant is just over 2 stars. Our experience was better thanks to Chris and the amazing sunset.
