There's a man that works there that if supposed to help you dock for safety. He is one of the most rudest people we have ever come across. Definitely visit this place! They have their own parking and an attendant helping you with parking. We chose to sit outside because the hostess said it would probably be faster. We had maybe a 20 minute wait, but they have a tiki bar onsite (with some picnic tables on a dock) so the wait was very pleasant with a cold beer in hand! They buzzed us when the table was ready. Our serve was very pleasant and attentive! Even had some nice humor :) This place does blackened THE BEST! I got the combo basket (shrimp, sea scallops, and mahi) blackened. Again, best blackened I experienced while on our vacation. Excellent key lime pie as well. Great prices and experience! Even saw some dolphins from our picnic tables. read more

Picture it, Tide Tables, March 21st, 2025. It was a breezy and chilly day but the sun was shining brightly! It was the perfect day to sit outside. We had our little Goldendoodle with us. Not only were we welcomed warmly, but so was she! The wonderful host greeted her with a treat and a new friendship formed instantly! We sat at an outside picnic table. They have umbrellas but I wanted the warmth of the sun, so I didn't ask for that. We didn't wait a minute for our server. He was very attentive and he also made sure our little fur baby had water. My husband ordered the grouper chowder to start and he loved it! Our food didn't take long, it was delivered to our table nice and hot. The French fries were perfectly fried, seasoned, crunchy and golden! My mojo chicken was super flavorful. Here's the best part: my husband ordered the blackened Mahi. I do NOT like seafood, but I am usually willing to try in hopes that one day, I will meet a cooked fish that I liked. Today was the day! Delicious! I would have eaten the entire thing! My wife and I recently visited Tide Tables for dinner and had a nice experience. We started with an appetizer of Conch Fritters. The fritters were soft and savory on the inside with tender bites of diced conch and crisp and lightly charred on the outside. For my entrée I had the Fresh Gulf Grouper prepared with Blackened seasoning. The fish was soft, flaky and lightly spicy. The side of fries were nicely soft. Finally for dessert we spilt a Key Lime Pie which was creamy, sweet and tart with lightly crisp graham and a rich lime flavor. read more

We were just over in Bradenton Beach and decided to cross the bridge to Cortez and hit this place for dinner after seeing the reviews. The parking attendants were professional and directed us where to park and enter the restaurant. No wait to sit inside for a party of 5. We ordered breaded mushrooms, peal & eat shrimp and conch fritters for an appetizer. All were average with the fritters being too dark. I had a bowl of lobster and potato soup that was excellent and the best I had on AMI with large pieces of lobster. My main entree was the blackened combo platter. The shrimp and scallops along with the mahi mahi were good but red yellow blackened instead of Louisiana blacked. I enjoyed the side of smoked baked beans and a very small side of pineapple coleslaw. The award winning key lime pie was very good but not the best I had in AMI. A little too sweet. The shock top pitchers of beer were the most affordable we had on our vacation and poured into frosted mugs. High/low picnic and bar seating. Indoor/outdoor bar. Deck with water views. Economical serving items from styrofoam plates and bowls, paper menus to plasticware and a paper towel roll at the table. Small discount for cash payment. Excellent service from our 9 year veteran Virginia. Pricing is on the high side for the setting. Virginia brought it up to the 4 star overall rating. Friday was a beautiful Florida day. We decided to visit the Bradenton area and found ourselves in one of our favorite areas, Cortez. Cortez is a small historic fishing village located just before leaving the mainland and crossing onto Bradenton Beach. We had never been to the Tide Tables and had always wanted to give it a try, so we pulled into the fairly small parking lot (which has a person directing traffic). We were there at almost 1:00 PM and the place was crowded. As a little background, this is a small typical Cortez laid-back, No Frills Fish Shack. The hostess let us know that she could seat us at the inside bar. The menu is loaded with lots of Great choices. We came for the seafood, so we checked out the menu and found two items to try - The Shrimp Po' Boy which comes with chips and coleslaw and the Grilled Fresh Mahi Mahi, which comes with french fries and coleslaw. Both dishes were excelent and we loved every bite. If you are looking for a spot with Great food and a relaxed atmosphere, you need to try the Tide Tables in Cortez. read more

Expect to wait for a table but there is a "tiki" bar where you can get a beverage while you wait for a table. There's a good selection of food. My faves include the fish tacos and fried grouper. The blackened is red yellow. Not the Louisiana black spicy blackened. Flavor is a bit light. I prefer spicy blackened. It come with two side. I choose the coleslaw and the yellow rice. Lastly, they had a very unique ale on tap - something along the lines of a Strawberry (or Orange?) Mimosa craft ale. (Yes, it's a beer.) Really good. The vibe is definitely what I would think of as "old Florida." Seating is very limited inside, which can be a deal when it's really hot (unless you like sweating through your meal); but outside seating has nice water views, being right on the water. We were fortunate enough to get a table inside on a very hot day - no waiting! Service was very good, despite their being very busy -- both of which are probably usual for this place. After hearing about how the seafood here is the freshest (from sunset cruise captains and charter boat captains) we popped in for lunch. There is limited parking and limited seating inside so plan appropriately. It is located waterside at the foot of the Cortez bridge leading to Bradenton beach. Outside there are two bars, a tiki bar and one with bar seating next to the restaurant - both surrounded by picnic tables and umbrellas, with seating extending out onto the dock. Inside (air conditioned) there are 8-10 bar stools with water views and a few tables. We selected a pair of padded bar stools. Chris, our server and bartender, was excellent- helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Locally fresh grouper and mahi mahi are available for sandwiches or baskets highlight the menu, with fresh gulf shrimp (and a Po'Boy) recommended. We both ordered a grouper basket - one grilled and one blackened- one with fries and one with rice. Both came with fresh made coleslaw. It was mouthwatering and delicious! Well, every place is allowed an off night but this was such a dramatic change to our prior visits. Unsure that we will return again which is so sad since it had been part of the very short list of returnable places. First indication- the bar here is usually packed. However, this time only a couple were sitting at the bar and the outdoor dining section was empty. We selected a picnic table near the water and a fan to keep the bugs away. Ordered 2 cold beers and then looking at the menu- boom! Now we probably understand why the crowd has found another place. Prices have exploded particularly for appetizers! So, you would expect quality to be high, right? Smoked fish spread - $16 Grouper nuggets ( still no fries) $26 Conch fritters $16, the list goes on The frying oil was obviously too hot since the fritters came out dark and raw inside. We sent them back and they returned even darker and still raw inside. Disappointed that a fresh batch was not started. Obviously, we decided against trying that exercise again. One smaller shrimp basket for me and one large one for hubby I could have sworn that the shrimp were just shy of being fully cooked- the middle was hot so we devoured them as usual. The batter was too thin and did not stick very well to the shrimp either. The cocktail sauce was frozen or jellied, could not tell and did not eat it. We were on vacation and in the mood for some fish tacos. This place is an awesome lunch spot. Nothing fancy about this spot but that's why i liked it so much. You can stop in on your way home from the beach in some flip flops and t shirt. It's right on the water and the food is delicious. Our kids even liked the food. A must-visit restaurant every time I'm spending extended time in or around Anna Maria island. The fish is so fresh you see the boats bringing it in at the dock upon which the restaurant is situated. The friend grouper and shrimp have been consistently excellent on multiple visits. Fries are the crunchy breaded kind and came out fresh and hot (as does everything). This most recent trip someone tried a side of yellow rice and said it knocked their sandals off. Always a fun time sitting at the bar and having a few drinks, interacting with the friendly servers who all just seem like they get to hang out and enjoy working with each other all day. There was a wait, but they have a dock with tables and benches, and no one seemed to mind waiting on the water, watching boats come and go, surrounded by pink sky. What a great place. The bartender was excellent. Je provided recommendations and then even gave directions when I discovered they sold only beer/wine. I actually left and went to two other places - one regrettably wrecked by hurricane and one only accepting cash. I returned due to how helpful and welcoming they were. We'd driven past this place more than once coming in and out of AMI the last couple of years and really never even noticed it...except that the parking lot was generally always full. So after checking around it seemed that the people who responded to my questions were very high on rating this place as a great place to get some great local food.... They were correct! The hostess was very accommodating to our needs and found us seating quicker than anticipated. The server was a bit slow on the soda refills though, which is a pet peeve of mine. The Fish Tacos were Blackened Mahi with a sesame-ginger sauce....ohhh baby are they tasty! Blackened Mojo Chicken for the Mrs was rated as excellent as well. Our associate had the Fried Mahi dinner and it looked as good as it was in size...a good portion! The sides were average fair but decent...no complaints just seemed abit short as compared to the meals. We'll definitely be back again in the future.
