We ordered both the chicken pho 3/5 and beef pho 4/5 The broths were flavorful without being overly salty, I prefer the beef broth over chicken . Next time I would try to order chicken pho with the beef broth as it had more rich flavors . The chicken wings 5/5 were one of the surprises of the meal crispy, well-seasoned, and came with a sweet chili sauce. The fresh spring rolls 4/5 were exactly what I was craving peanut sauce was great. For drinks, I loved the mango smoothie 5/5 It tasted like real mango instead of syrup. I also tried the artichoke drink 5/5 which brought back memories because it's something you don't see everywhere as it's homemade with fresh artichoke and glass jelly and chia seeds, The pandan waffle 4/5 was warm, soft on the inside, slightly chewy on the outside, and not overly sweet. I asked for some syrup on the side to eat with the waffle The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and attentive, even provided scissors for the kids pho and syrup on the side for waffle. Pho was outstanding. My daughter and I split the Pho Ga while my husband had the beef filet pho and my son had his own chicken pho (it was too much for him but he won't admit it). The broth was delicious, full of aromatics, heavy on the onion but it was definitely to our liking. Server was friendly and attentive; he was also quick to clean up exiting tables. The shop is small but the dining area is spacious and open with plenty of seating options. Our first meal in St. Pete's and it did not disappoint! We were a little taken back because it looked like a hole in a wall, but it was so spacious inside. When you first entered, you get hit by this delicious smell, so you know you're in for a good meal. We ordered pho with fresh pho noodles, spring rolls, and the fried chicken with fish sauce glaze. The pho broth was amazing, it was cinnamon forward, so that was a nice surprise. I never had fresh pho noodles before, but the noodles were a little softer than I like, so maybe next time I'll stick with regular pho noodles. The fried chicken was really good too! Pretty good pho in st pete. The unique thing about this place is they have an option for fresh noodles. These noodles are softer and they look hand cut because they are wider than the store-bought kind and they are not perfectly uniform size. I really liked the veggies included in the vegan pho. They had the usual broccoli and carrots and cabbage, but they also included jicama (i think) and had different types of softness in carrot, some were reallly soft and some were crunchy. One of the best places for pho in the area. As far as food quality, I've never been disappointed. Quantity is a different story. I'm not sure why the meatballs are policed so heavily, but I'm about done with ordering from Special Pho because they seem to not understand what a double order of meatballs is. Four times now I've ordered a BYOB and did double meatballs, thinking... this... this will be the time I get more than 5 pieces of meatballs. Nope... At first I thought it was because I was only tipping 10% on a to-go order so i tried tipping more, NOPE. So then, I tried dining in a couple of times. Nope. Same result. Then I thought, okay, after they get to know me, it'll get better. You know, most places treat regulars a bit better when they get to know them or their orders. NOPE!! It's a shame because I love the food. The house noodles are amazing. But I'm tired of getting short changed on the meatballs I've tried enough places to know that they are not giving me what others is. And frankly.. if it continues.. ill mostly likely stop going there. I am aware they will not miss one customer. But after a long days work and I want that comfort food. Tbh I should've just gotten the regular noodles instead of the house noodles for $2 extra but I had to try. But don't think they were significantly better than the thinner ones would've been. If you get this to go be warned that the filet mignon comes raw and is supposed to cook in the broth so make sure your broth is still hot by the time you get home!! Ordered the Vietnamese glass noodle chicken soup and chicken pho ga and it appears the only difference between the two was that the glass noodle soup had (shocker) glass noodles and no onions. I can't eat here without ordering their Goi Cuon (tofu version) and their shrimp and pork wonton soup in various forms. You can get their shrimp and pork wontons as an appetizer soup or as a noodle soup meal called Hu Tieu. If you order the Hu Tieu, I recommend it without the hot lettuce becuse the lettuce adds too much lettuce flavor to the meaty broth. Their small wontons are wonderfully tender, filled with flavorful shrimp, ground pork, and black pepper in a meaty broth filled spiced with green onion and fried crunchy pork bits. We were told about this place from a friend and we decided to go try it out after a day out at the St. Pete Pier. Seating was immediate but after that, it was not so smooth. We waited almost 10 minutes to even get service at our table, we didn't even have water. Finally our waiter came and took our order and was gonna bring our water but we waited another 10-15 minutes for that. Thankfully, my husband ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee or else we would have nothing to drink. The wait for the food was long too, it was 20-25 minutes overall for chicken wings and pho. The tofu spring rolls came with fresh ingredients and a really nice peanut like sauce (maybe hoison + peanut sauce?). It was delicious! The pho came with a lot of noodles, basil and scallions but only 4 shrimp. The pho broth itself was ok. I've had better vegetarian broths. The food was definitely fresh. The pho was pretty good. Not very memorable, but also not bad. The meats weren't exactly raw when served, like how I want my pho. The bean sprouts and basil is fresh and that's great. The young gentleman server was sweet, attentive and kind to my child. He fist pumped him and high fived him etc. the artichoke healthy drink was surprisingly good. A bit sweet but they made it less sweet. The crispy rolls were good x pretty standard, I doubt they are fresh handmade. I wish there hot sauce was more spicy.
