A good morning for hot chocolate I stopped in at Starbucks on this breezy day with temperatures in the 40's, a good time for a Hot Chocolate. It was busy inside with a line of several people between myself and the order taker. The line did move along ok and within 5 minutes or so I was placing my order. That interaction was more businesslike than friendly. A few minutes later my name was called and my drink was ready. They have no indoor seating but they do have some seating outside. Customers braving the cold took advantage of that, I returned to my car. The hot chocolate was very good, rich whipped cream on top of the warm chocolaty drink. read more

I have visited literally hundreds of Starbucks' locations since they've come into existence and although they all seem to be pretty consistence with the quality of the products they offer; the service, quality of the product, wait-time, cleanliness and accessibility of the location are the five things that are important to me. I know, it is a chain and I don't go too often to Starbucks at all. Today the Java Chip Frappuccino looked very appealing and I decided to try one. Very refreshing with a not overpowering coffee and chocolate flavor and topped of with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You have to drink it slowly, it is very good for a brain freeze! The people working at the counter were very nice and friendly. One of them started just a couple of days ago on her job and needed a little more time to prepare my drink. Excellent location, and very friendly staff. Ashley and Michael were great - both greeted us with a smile, and we received fast service. The drinks and food have always been to order and tasted great. That being said, their are times when this location gets very busy, especially during season. They do have periodic employee shortages (like everywhere right now), run out of things sometimes, and the hours aren't always consistent due to staffing. People need to have realistic expectations when going out, whether it be here or elsewhere. I've personally witnessed many rude costumers here and at a few of the other restaurants on the Circle. They need to understand these businesses are doing their best and should be a little more patient when going out. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Very rude and have no sense of purpose. Including the manager. Both of the following trips occurred between 8-10 am. Attempted to go on 12/29 after ordering ahead through the app. We arrived at the store about 10 minutes after ordering through the app. 15 minutes after that we found out that the store was running 30 minutes behind which they weren't telling anyway unless you asked them about the drinks. Figuring it would still be a while for them to even start on our order we decided to cancel which led to them demanding a receipt just to do so. We thought we would give it another shot today thinking maybe it was just an extra busy day. We placed our order extra early this time and went for a walk on the way there to give them plenty of time. This time the order was ready. When asking them if they would be open tomorrow the barista had a bad attitude and was only giving the answer of "I don't know." We responded "you don't know if you're open tomorrow?" They again only responded "I don't know." We started on our walk back only for me to realize that the drink I order tasted terrible. Overall, a pretty terrible experience here. They need a complete overhaul of staff in my opinion. I recommend sitting through the traffic and going over the bridge to downtown if you want Starbucks or going to another business all together. read more

Not a rant. Management needs to fix this. Slow and busy season on Longboat Key Every morning I mobile order, it takes between 10 and sometimes 12 minutes before I even see them start to make my order. I don't mind waiting around for my coffee, when I am not on a time limit to get to work. I order around 7:20am. For you locals, I'm two lights before the Westin before I order. It's not busy--there is maybe between 2-5 people at times. I work out here. I've had to leave paid coffee about three or four times to get to work on time because they don't look at the mobile orders consistently. I keep having to order my coffee earlier and earlier but my coffee still isn't ready when I get there. Three people on morning shift and there is always one standing around or sitting in the back. The morning shift seems out of whack and when certain people are working it seems like they ignore the mobile order printer and just focus on people coming in. The evening shift is pretty consistent. The whole point of mobile order is to not wait.. hoping someone opens another coffee shop on Longboat Key. read more

What a nice surprise!! I swear it's the smallest Starbucks I've ever been to and every one is so friendly. I saw the previous reviews about the morning staff, but must say my experience is always consistent and pleasant. Im not sure what anyone would think that mobile order means you jump to the top of the queue, seriously where's the logic in that. Orders are first in and first out, I don't think it should matter if your in the store or in the car doing a mobile order. The baristas work hard and so a great job on all orders and they do a great job. I give them Five stars, they are typically to the door busy and never mess up my order. Staff of 2 is nice and working hard but staff.of.2 can't keep up with the influx of mobile orders and a line to the door. This store needed at least 3 more staff to manage the traffic of this area. What a treat to stop in to the Starbucks as we walked around Armands Circle in Sarasota! The young man who served us, Damon, was wonderful, very attentive, and provided us with what we needed very quickly. We stopped in twice in the same day and received the same excellent service. Vacation buzzkill. It took me 25 minutes to get out of there with my damn tall coffee. The most aggravating Starbucks I have ever been to. The cashiers are slow and chatty while the line snakes out the door. Also, it is very loud inside so you have to scream your order. I visited this Starbucks on 12/24 with my wife as we window shipped St Armand Circle. My wife ordered a Gingerbread Latte and received a Latte with no flavoring at all. The cup was properly marked though. I ordered a Christmas Blend coffee and they were out and had to brew some. Fine, no problem I thought. Problem is they only let a quarter to half the cycle brew before they dispensed the coffee into my cup. This resulted in a coffee that was WAY too strong..... Even for my taste. Unfortunately my wife and I were outta there or I would have taken them back (not to mention the line was out the door). I'm a 20-30 visit per month customer of Starbucks. I typically have no issues but recall this not being my first problem visit at this particular location. I'll pass on coffee from this store in the future. read more

So-so service here. The line is usually out the door and the staff number seems limited. The outside seating it normally taken and it is too crowded inside to sit so it is best to order through the Starbucks app ahead of time and to treat this place as a grab and go versus a location to sit and enjoy your coffee. read more

Showed up at 4:30 on a Friday after Thanksgiving. There was no one in line and there were about 12 people waiting for coffee. One worker was making coffee. One worker was sweeping. One worker was doing nothing. I made a loud, "someone else needs to be making coffee." Someone did. Still it was a long long long wait. Women next to me had been there 20 minutes. In an instant three more employees came out of a back room. They seemed to know what to do. I just don't understand who was in charge. Bit of a cluster and no apologies. Smaller than average sbux. Seems that the workers don't even have enough space behind the counter. Drinks we ordered were fine but seating is tight and the bench seat was covered in sand. We go to sbux for the coffee not the atmosphere and our drinks have always been on par with the quality expected from sbux. read more

How can a Starbucks be this terrible!? I go to many, many Starbucks all over the country and this one is the worst. We ordered 3 drinks and it took them 10mins to make. It was busy but what Starbucks isn't busy? 2 of the drinks were wrong. I complained to manager and she gave me dirty look and told me she didn't take the order. She huffed and puffed and said she would return the drinks and make us others. Great! She takes my card and returns the wrong drinks and sizes and then recharges my card me the correct size and drink and puts our cups last in line to wait another 10mins!!!!! Typical Starbucks expensive and often crowded but you should know this. If you expect anything else you will be disappointed.
