I ordered my go-to, an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, half-sweetened, and it was a perfect cup of iced coffee. Creamy and robust. I also tried the ricotta toast, crusty bread with warm ricotta, tomatoes, and balsamic glaze, and it did not disappoint. I'd definitely stop by again! read more

I love love coffee shop with seasonal flavors and unique drinks. They had a good list of options for fall seasonal and they were pretty unique ones that I haven't tried! It was a toss up between a few but I ended up getting the salted maple chai seasonal. They're cute inside and very close from the water so it's a nice stop before going on a walk. Their to go cups aren't anything special so Instagram can't see their cute logo but that's ok. The flavor of the chai wasn't my favorite simply because wise I couldn't taste the syrup, so I was a little disappointed because I was really excited to try the new flavors. read more

Very simplistic café. Little to nothing on the walls. Not depressing but also not super refreshing. Open seating concept with not enough seating to those who were in the café. We arrived about an hour after they opened and there was not much left in the pastry cabinet, yet people were still ordering them? We were confused--maybe the issue was their lack of restocking the showcase and the locals knew that? The staff felt rushed, so we didn't ask about food and ordered two dirty chai teas and went next door to the other coffee shop (Out and About Coffee) to grab pastries. I went there today and the girl at the front desk was just so sweet. I had a Matcha colada latte with coconut in it and another syrup that I forgot but it was extremely delicious. EXCELLENT Local coffee shop. Exactly what I wanted! Nice bright clean space with their coffee machines and expert baristas. The espresso was rich and smooth and the drip perfectly roasted. Their motto is good people great coffee and I love that! Good location near the marina in the heart of downtown Sarasota. A quick walk from almost all the hotels and there is plenty of street parking to pop in if you are via car. We will definitely be back! read more

If you love quality black coffee with great tasting notes, this place is for you. The cold brew is probably the best I have had in awhile! We did not sit inside, but plenty of space to do so if you need to get work done or catch up with a friend. They have some pastries available, but we did not get any, so I cannot comment on those options. Breaking Waves is located in the Bayfront area with a lot of shops & restaurants. Street parking is 2 hrs and there are parking garages in the area as well. If you like syrups, sugar, and dessert for breakfast there is a Starbucks down the road. read more

This was my first time to visit this coffee shop in beautiful Sarasota, Florida. My wife and I are in the area visiting from Colorado. The location is great near Sarasota Harbor, and parking is rather limited. I arrived this morning right after they opened, was not greeted upon entering, the person who took my order did not greet me, was not friendly, and kinda acted like I was bothering her by being here today. The inside dining room area is decent, simply decorated, clean, and the seating is hard and uncomfortable after sitting 5 minutes. They have upbeat music playing. My coffee is okay, nothing to write home about. There is free WiFi and it works well. read more

The location is fine. There is parking in front and around the corner. The outside seating is lacking and with not a lot of space inside to sit, grab and go is the best option. They only do Americana Pour Overs for decaffeinated coffee; that means they get to charge more just to pout hot water over beans. It's not very good, nor is it anywhere (and most places are crapping on decaggeniated coffee drinkers by doing this) They play the music in the place way to loud for such a small place. The staff is okay, not overly friendly and a smile now and again wouldn't kill them, but it's Sarasota - the city where hospitality goes to die. (I have been here at least 6 times. It's close to where I park and end my bay front walks). I have tried their tea. Slightly flavored water isn' high on my list but the person I walk with seems to like it well enough. There are a lot of coffee places in Sarasota, include a place two doors down. I have found none to be that special, all about the same prices, level of service the same and all doing that crap Americana Pour Over. Oh, well. It is what it is. read more

Breaking Wave Coffee, I love this place! It's a wonderful cafe with fantastic roasts of coffee, the ambience inside is fantastic! Super chill, nice light but also has elegant black walls and architectural trim inside. Great place to relax or work. Radu, the owner of the cafe, and all of the employees are super nice and very happy to talk and make conversation while they serve up a tasty coffee or tea related beverage. They have a lot of options for alternative milks and they also have food! I finally tried the granola fruit bowl after coming here for a couple years and it was very tasty! Made in house! Goodness this coffee was good!!! I sat inside and ordered 1 hot vanilla latte and before I left I ordered an iced vanilla latte. Super friendly baristas too. There are a few tables inside and a couple outside, take your pic. They also have some pastries and bags of coffee for sale. When I come back to Sarasota, I'm booking it over here. P.S. there is parking on the street but you need to pay, unless it's Sunday (if I'm not mistaken). read more

When I'm in Sarasota downtown this is my choice for black coffee. Perq is my number 1 in Southside village but this is my favorite downtown. I genuinely do not understand how this place has reviews higher than 1 star. The 2 women working here are rude, condescending, cocky, and racist which says nothing of the less than subpar coffee they offer. I've been here twice now with no intention of going back. The first time I was not-so-subtly stared down by one of the "ladies" working the counter while she was helping another customer, to the point of being extremely uncomfortable. My partner was also stared at for long periods of time which lead to us concluding that that they just could not fathom someone being better looking than the mediocre blondes they are (shocker, good-looking non-blondes exist!) and that they don't like interracial couples. Literally, all we did was walk in and were immediately met with an overwhelming and uncomfortable hate - hard to describe but if you've ever had the "get out of our town!" feeling from someone, well, this is one of those atmospheres. We still, very hesitantly, placed our orders and were disappointed to find that we received coffee-flavored water at best. Despite this, we went back one more time because, hey, everyone has an off day. Well, that was a mistake as we were only met with condescension and laughter when asking what the wifi password was, which isn't posted anywhere. And, again, terrible coffee water. Stay clear of this place if you don't appreciate racism, condescension, and terrible coffee as that seems to be their vibe. read more

Best banana bread ever!! I would eat those everyday if possible. Also, enjoyed cheese and lemon pastries. Iced coffee also a dream. Could also note this is perhaps the most minimal decor coffee shop without actually being minimal, maybe sparse is a better word.
