Palma Coffee is such a cool little spot with a retro, fun vibe! The two guys behind the counter today were absolutely friendly, welcoming, and the guy helping me took the time to chat with me, which made the experience even better. The barista who helped me spent time talking with me about matcha (my love language!) and you could tell he really cared about making it right. That kind of attention and passion is rare and so appreciated. I sat outside and loved the the wall mural. It''s the perfect spot to just relax and sip. Palma is a top tier coffee shop that offers high quality coffee brewed by legit baristas. The location is pretty nice for a strip center as it's tucked away with some nice outdoor seating. The interior of the shop is warm and cozy. The real reason to visit Palma is to sample high end coffee that is brewed the right way. I loved trying this place! I really struggled to find a well-crafted latte in Sarasota, this place gave me everything I wanted and more! The staff were very sweet, the store had a very calm vibe, and the location is super cute! You do not feel like you're sipping a latte next to a main road. I got the maple latte and it was perfect! Perfect temperature, perfect amount of sweetness, and the milk texture was perfect. My only complaint is that the iced chai was a bit lackluster in flavor. This was my visit to Palma Coffee. The shop is very small and tucked away in a shopping center, making it difficult to find. When I walked in the women at the register was friendly and welcoming when I mentioned it was my first time, showed me the menu and answered questions. They were reasonably priced compared to larger coffee chains. The coffee itself was well made, though a little more bitter than I personally prefer. My biggest disappointment was the overall customer service. while the person at the register was warm and friendly, the man preparing the drinks never acknowledged me even though I was the only customer standing there waiting. As a first-time customer, I felt largely ignored, and quite frankly thought it was rude that he could not say hello. What made the contrast more noticeable was that when as I was leaving, he immediately greeted another customer by name. The space is cozy and appears to have a loyal group of regulars and I would have loved to find that place to be a regular. I would have happily returned if either the coffee had really wowed me or the experience had made me feel welcomed. I went out of my way to come here, and I never got the sense that the barista cared whether I came back. So neither happened. The prices were fair and the latte art was beautiful, but the lack of hospitality left a stronger impression that the coffee itself. read more

I wish Palma had been in town when I lived in Sarasota. It's such a cute spot in an otherwise unassuming strip mall. They know their craft and have a thoughtful collection of roasts; I enjoyed my pour over a lot. I like that it's indoor/outdoor, though I wish the indoor part was a tad less chilly and the lights a bit warmer. The staff were very kind and I liked meeting them and learning from them. Coffee is unreal! They source all of their beans from small farmers in others countries. They actually travel to these countries and select the beans themselves! I really feel like I've never been more caffeinated. The facility itself is so cute. They did a really good job with the inside. Perfect place to set up and do some work for the morning! The owners are friendly, helpful and so obviously passionate about coffee, how they are sourcing their coffee & their little shop. Wow! This coffee was excellent. The staff was SUPER friendly and felt very welcoming upon entering the store. My mom tried their new take on a spice latte, and was over the moon about the pumpkin latte art (it's the little things). She also loved the nuts and thought it was delicious. I got the mocha, but I usually don't like them and was feeling adventurous. I was pleasantly surprised, as it was delicious with oatmilk. Super cute and quiet coffee shop. The service was great. The guy taking our order was very helpful with the menu. He even brought us our coffee even though we got it to go. The coffee was so good! They had different flavors you could add to your drink, but not so strong that you couldn't taste the coffee. The tucked away location is such a plus, you don't feel like you're in the hustle and bustle of a busy downtown, when you step into this coffee shop you are transported to an island far away. They care about their coffee and where it comes from. My boyfriend said this was the best cappuccino he's ever had, and that says a lot granted he spent most of his life in Eastern Europe where coffee is life lol. The owners are a lovely young couple with an incredible knowledge and passion for coffee, where it's sourced and a dream to bring a delicious experience to their customers.
