I found this AMAZING place in 5280's Top of the Town over a year ago and could not have been more thrilled after my first visit. The ultimate massage there, in my opinion, is the classic steam massage. You walk in and you're given a nice and warm neck wrap and one of their "tonics" to drink while waiting. Then you're lead into a room with lovely low lighting and your choice of music playing. The table is covered in these great, soft sheets. I was really impressed with this spa. They were friendly and incredibly outgoing... And the warm neck wrap...Wonderful! My appointment started right on time and Meg was great! She asked me the right questions before my massage started and stuck to our discussion. I left feeling...well... fantastic. Thanks Meg! I would say the only minor downfall was that it was a pretty small facility and I could hear a bit of the reception area over the music...I wouldn't let that stop me from returning! I was in serious back pain, verging on a back spasm so I needed an immediate massage. I called the morning of and was able to get an appointment that afternoon. None of the other places downtown had openings and they were all more expensive. I only got a 30 minute massage but I told Kristy my issues so she really only focused on that. She did some really intense work and I was sore for a few days, but my back pain went away after that and I haven't had problems since! Kristy was very knowledgable about sitting-at-your-desk-back and suggested a lot I could do on my own to help tightness. The only negative for me was a pretty intense upsell on their products after, which was a major downer after a massage. I really liked their heat pack and might have bought it if I wasn't so irritated by the upsell. I will go back though and have recommended them to others who also had a good experience. Tips: get there early to really soak in the neck wrap they give you, and drink some tea. Also, they oil you up pretty good so it was hard walking in my sandals afterwords. read more

Caitlyn at the reception desk spent a lot of time with me on the telephone to correctly place me with the best therapist for what I specifically needed (I have a broken leg that that required a highly skilled reflexologist). I was placed with Krystal who specializes in reflexology and energy work yet excels at "standard" massage as well. If you are particular like me, this business is mandatory! My wife got us a couples massage the Friday before Valentine's Day for our anniversary and let me tell you, it was great! I have been to other places but compared to here they are nothing. I have 2 herniated disks, sciatica and some other minor issues and one of the best things I experienced here was that Gretchen read my paper and actually spoke with me about it, listened and worked on some of those things for me! I really didn't know that people could do the things that she did to make this massage so good. My wife said that her guy was awesome as well and the couples massage was great to enjoy together! They have the customer in mind 100% from a drink when you get there to choosing an oil for aromatherapy to music to light levels. Hot towels on feet, on back and speaking softly make for an awesome treat too. I really can't convey how great this place is, you will just have to try. The price is shocking in a good way, I would have thought it would have been more. We will be getting the membership and going once a month from now on. They have I think 20 therapists or so, so I'm sure I will get different people but I can tell that they have to be good or they won't work there. I've been missing out, getting a massage at massage envy as compared to here is like the difference from eating a steak at Waffle House compared to Elways! I waited four days to post this but no one from Elixir called me back, so here goes ... Worse massage experience ever. First, there is a family that lives upstairs that was apparently hosting a kids' birthday party during my massage. It sounded like 20 people were running sprints while dribbling basketballs right above my head. The incessant running and thumping was incredibly disruptive. To Elixir's credit, they gave a 10% discount. But that didn't make up for the other problem, which was that my massage therapist was completely ineffectual. Despite repeated asks for deeper pressure, she just didn't (couldn't?) do it. I left there feeling more tense, more stressed, and less relaxed. Waste of time and money. read more

Believe me when I say I have paid more for lesser massages at spas around the world. They don't hold a candle to the consistency at Elixir. In my 8 years of getting Elixir massages, I have never had a disappointing experience, seriously no joke. All the therapists are great. Granted I like some more than others but have never walked out feeling like I got less than a great massage. Sandy has therapists that can handle ALL ranges of needs. Post hysterectomy massage? No problem, it's same protocol as pregnancy. Rollover car accident? No problem, they worked on my areas of concern and helped me coordinate care with my chiropractor & physical therapist and receipts for my insurance company. Last minute can't move my neck, they will fit you in. Have your mother/mother in law in town and they are stiff from travel, they will fit you in. The sheets, OMG the sheets. They are like butter! You instantly are sucked into them and sleep like a baby. I own at least 6 sets. People rave how comfortable our guest bed is. Hubby gets cranky sleeping on anything else. Yes they are a bit pricey but do the math; Comphy warranties them for 300 washes. You change your sheets once a week, that 5-3/4 years that a set will be used under warranty. $150 breaks down to 50 cents a week, 7 cents a night. They come out of the dryer wrinkle free, they fit over-sized mattresses perfectly and in great colors. How many so-so $35-$75 sheet sets have you donated to Goodwill or used as a paint dropcloth after they pilled and/or got sick of ironing them, or had them shrink and not cover your mattress or have the whimpy elastic give out and no longer stay tight on the mattress??? Do yourself a favor, invest in the Comphy sheets and you will be so happy. Member monthly specials are great. Discounts on additional services, new products, try it then buy it. Elixir events are a great opportunity to try other services and invite your friends so they can experience the Elixir difference. 10-8 daily is so convenient to fix a massage in your life monthly and be healthier for that hour you give yourself. Seriously for the cost of fueling your week of Starbucks addition, you will feel great after your Elixir experience. Just do it, it will be a decision you will not regret unlike that $200 ombre color job your friend said would look so great on you. read more

I am always a little hesitant to go into a spa type setting for a massage. My life style is extremely athletic as I teach full contact sports. As a result, when I am looking for a massage I tend to find a place that specializes in deep tissue and neuro muscular work. Normally I look for a place with a "medical" feel to it. I recently decided to book an appointment close to my neighborhood in downtown Denver. I knew of Elixir so I made an appointment and went in. As I expected, the environment was impeccably clean, inviting and relaxing. It was complete with warm neck towel and even a restorative tonic. Elixir had a decadent Spa feel but the prices were great. The price wasn't the best part though. As is customary, my therapist asked me a few detailed questions about what kind of massage I wanted and about my injury history. Still I was dubious about what kind of massage I would receive. After my visit I have to say what impressed me most is the degree of massage expertise the therapist possessed. The quality of massage I received was comparable to the kind I have received at places dedicated to therapy for serious athletes. I was in Denver on a final leg of nearly 3 weeks of travel feeling stressed and exhausted. My friend and I decided to spend our free afternoon decompressing with a massage. We started with a national chain but they were booked and recommended elixir. They got us in right away. The visit started out nice with tea and a hot neck wrap. Eric was a wonderful masseuse. He unlocked the knots between my shoulders and worked out some chronic pain I have on one of my legs. I also appreciated that he took my lead and didn't talk during my treatment. I can go either way depending on my mood, but given how tired I was I just wanted to zone out for an hour or so. The stress melted away and I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I feel like I can push through my last flight without being one big nerve ball. I'd definitely go back on my next visit to Denver. read more

Service locaton and overall experience...just wish I could afford one massage a week.. even two times a month would be great. The front desk and management staff was amazing and even let me print my boarding pass while I waited. Correen my massage therapist was so nice and attentive. I had just run for 5 miles and did a boot camp for 2 hours in Red Rocks I needed her sooo bad.. If I did not get to see her that day i would not have been able to walk..... Even that said I can't how deep and strong she was. If you want a deep tissue massage Correen is a great person. I am hooked. Not only am I a member, but I get regular monthly services in addition to my membership massage. The products are great too--homeopathic, organic and often local goods. If you're looking for a relaxing oil to add to your massage, I suggest Mamma Mio oil. Often used on pregnant women because of it's benefits for stretch marks, those same nutrients help moisturize and firm your skin which is great in a dry climate like in CO. The Muscle Ice is good after all the mountain biking, skiing, yoga...customer service is terrific and the environment is perfect for a relaxing or therapeutic style massage. The only bad thing is there is high turnover among therapists. If you like someone or seeking consistent therapy, something to ask about before you settle on someone you like who ends up leaving before your next appt. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite places in town though! read more

I have been to Elixir twice for a massage and each one has been absolutely fantastic! The staff at the front desk has always been friendly and offered me tea and a hot towel for my neck while I waited. The facility itself is clean and comfortable. Now for the massages...both relaxing and therapeutically beneficial. My masseuse spent a great deal of time working on the areas that were especially tight and was constantly checking in with me to make sure I was doing alright. Me and Elixir first met on my Birthday. I had friends in town for a show at Red Rocks- and my girlfriend and I wanted to do a couples massage (NOT like that!) She was footing the bill- I work downtown, and as an avid Yelper this place seemed like the best fit. The last massage I had (in Breckenridge) the woman left tiny little fingerprint bruises all over my back...since I told her I like it rough- just not that rough! THIS PLACE ROCKS MY LITTLE WORLD! Elixir has a beautiful and clean decor and very friendly employees. The warm shoulder wrap on a cold morning, after a snow storm, was right on. This was the best massage I have had in over five years. Honestly, I have had a message therapist that has not worked on my trouble spots, but my massage therapist was attentive (paid close attention to my initial request) as well as used amazing pressure. Elizabeth was extremely knowledgeable and truly is a skilled/gifted therapist. WOW!! To finish with chilled citrus infused water was refreshing. I slept so well the evening of my massage. In December I had made an appointment for a massage. I am a member and have never missed an appointment in my time at Elixir. That day my sister in law went into labor three weeks early and my brother in law was away (he's a pilot). I missed my appointment to be at the hospital with her and was not able to give them a call to tell them I wouldn't arrive. They would not let me reschedule after that fact despite the emergency situation and being a loyal customer. I understand that with no shows they lose money, but I had already paid my monthly payment and provide consistent patronage every month. As a loyal member who has never missed a massage and it was a bit frustrating they don't give a one time forgiveness cancellation to loyal customers or even let me reschedule and charge me half the fee. I don't know...it kind of just left a bad taste in my mouth. I still love Elixir but it would be nice for a one time example of grace in an emergency situation... read more

My first time I was in Denver, but not my first massage so I have lots to compare to.....Michael was Awesome!!!!! he knew the exact amt of pressure and kept checking to make sure it was good....and IT WAS!!!!!! He very professional! I also really liked the shop and environment. I had not been on that part of town during my stay and it is sooo charming so glad I decided to go. If I ever come back to Denver, I will go back without a doubt...actually will now look for a reason to come to Denver just to go!! Great friendly warm environment!
