My wife searched for a plumbing company in Google and found Elite Rooter. Ketih Shannon came with his Elite Rooter truck to the house and when I got home he was in the front yard with a camera showing a broken pipe. He showed me the broken pipe and then insurance company was brought up. I told him that we had USAA insurance and he took out his cell phone and showed me all the plumbing projects where USAA insurance is involved. After this we came in to the house and he then he told us do not worry I will take care of all the insurance issues. In order to start the project we need to paid up front before we start the work. He told us that the work will be $18, 757.00. We thought this was the total cost of fixing the bathroom. He said plumbing companies will go out of business if they were not paid upfront, because insurance took too long and we can pay the loan off with the insurance money. He contacted Good Leap and spoke with Patrick Patel who set up the home improvement project loan. While setting up the Good Leap loan Dry Out medics reps Fernando and his supervisor suddenly were at my table. They assisted us also in setting up the loan. Elite plumbing came out and replaced the sewer pipe under the house. Hooked it from the bathroom to the washroom while leaving large damage that needed to be repaired. After the plumbing was done by Elite Rooter. Air Technologies came in and found asbestos in the bathroom. They charged the insurance company around $1500.00 per test. Dry Out Medics (JJ& S another name) came in and performed demolition on the bathroom. Stripped the bathroom to the studs and concrete floor. In the process they shattered a $1000 Kohler shower door and cracked the vanity and broke the back splash which cost over $1000. When they did the asbestos test we had to sign a waiver in the initial test for them to perform the asbestos test, but later after signing the first waiver document to test I noticed at the bottom of the form it said if they break any fixtures of items on accident or negligence they are not responsible. All Air Technologies do is run a wand to test. Dry out Medics (JJ &s) did report the broken shower door glass which they claimed just shattered, but they had to really force it out of the sliding guides it was attached to break it called negligence. Jerking the vanity off the wall without properly undoing the sealer on the sides was negligent. THEY BOTH ARE IN CAHOOTS BECAUSE WHY SIGNING THE AIR TECHNOLOGIES FORM TO PERFORM AN ASBESTOS INSPECTION ALSO COVER DRY OUT MEDICS (JJ&S) DAMAGES. Dry Out Medics (JJ&S) are refusing to pay me for the damaged fixture which is over $2000. They billed USAA Insurance around $6,500 for the demolition of the bathroom and are pressuring them with a short payment deadline. Goodleap is calling me my wife repeatedly about repayment for the $18,757.00 which the credit terms is 0 percent for 15 months. Why are they harassing her for the money. She can not sleep at night at time due the harassment. They are all players in a network of the same fraud. Presently I am holding off the Air Technology final asbestos testing to stop them USAA from paying Dry Out Medics (JJ&S) the $6500. And the $1500 USAA will have to pay Air Technology. They are all out to bleed the insurance company and defrauded me in the process for the $18,757.00. I have documents to prove all the facts that I stated in the fraud memo. Service man came out today after skipping service yesterday, did another replacement of the flush valve. Surprisingly after spending 40 minutes, the service man wasn't willing to wait at least 5 minutes to confirm that his work fixed the problem and left. No surprise that not even a minute after he left, the problem re-occurred. He then said he'd be back later in the afternoon to re-assess stating that I didn't have a water pressure regulator which could be the problem and tried to up-sell it to me, but I was done with these games. I had to call management to come and get a second opinion, to which they then stated that the whole toilet needed to be replaced for $1800 and that I already had a water pressure regulator so there was no need to install one. If the problem had been diagnosed correctly to begin with, I would've maybe considered the toilet replacement however I had such a poor experience over the past 2 days that I didn't feel comfortable moving forward with them again. $1800 is also incredibly expensive for a toilet replacement and I was able to find a more affordable and professional alternative quickly. Thankfully I had paid via check for the first service and called them to let them know that I'd be cancelling my check as I was being charged for something that wasn't the problem at all. They were understanding of this and for that they'll get 2-stars instead of 1-star. Overall still a complete waste of time, so definitely would not recommend to anyone. read more

CHECK BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU THEY FAILED Initially, I was told that a secondary sewer inspection and hydro-jetting were needed. However, the hydro-jetting was either done improperly or not at all, since technicians accessed the system through the sink instead of the clean-out outside my home, resulting in ineffective results. The technicians claimed there was no clean-out, but I found it later after hiring another plumber. In a follow-up estimate, they cut holes in my ceiling, wall, and under the sink without my consent, stating a secondary camera inspection and pipe replacement were necessary. No secondary inspection was performed, and they used the hole in the wall to remove a pipe segment without my permission. I felt pressured to agree to a $15,000 pipe re-lining service, which dropped to $10,000 when I sought a second opinion. I later discovered that the removed pipe had no damage and only needed cleaning. Another plumber successfully cleared the issue with hydro-jetting for less than a quarter of Elite Rooter's charge. An inspection confirmed no signs of a leak. In total, I paid Elite Rooter nearly $6,000 for partial services and unnecessary damage to my property. I feel that I was taken advantage of because of my gender, facing pressure to authorize unnecessary work while my concerns were dismissed. read more

Sadly l did not learn my lesson and contacted Elite Rooter again. My sewer repipe is under warranty and l have struggled with my sewer system for about 3 years. They did a replacement then hydrojetting to the tune of 10 thousand dollars and my system completely failed again 10 days later. My manager took time to get involved and brought out his Plummer to check the mains and he figured it out in 30 minutes. It is your vent that is blocking the flow on your roof. He suggested Thousand Oaks Plummer and they sent one girl plumber whom took her time checked everything got up on the roof and found the problem and finally got it fixed. She also educated me about my system and told me how to prevent issues from happening. Then she sent her technician to actually hydro jet my house plumming as Elite hydro jetted the main line not my home and she checked every inch of my home and l finally slept because l felt like my plumming wasn't going to explode which is how l felt for 3 years. They charged me 10 grand did not fix the problem blamed me lawyered up and their warranty mean's nothing btw they won't honor it. The plumming company that actually fixed my problem? $750.00. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! The work described was not actually completed, and it's still pending. We have been dealing with them since Dec. 26th and till this day (2/23/23) the issues have not been resolved.. After contacting them repeatedly, we keep being told someone will look into it and follow up and still no resolution. The Division Manager Chris Latham was the person we dealt with from the start and he was not available thru most of the process, and when we tried contacting him with status for the job, he was not returning any calls nor had any form of communication with us. The work he described was not completed, and our house continues to get clogged. There was damage done to our shower with their machine while they tried unclogging it and Chris Latham took pictures of it, and apparently he has denied to the office that he did not take any footage and was not aware of any damages. I call again today, (as anyone would be), I was extremely frustrated and upset about all the back and forth, and having to re-explain myself again about the pending work, plumbing issues, damages to the shower, and the representative Manager Ashley hung up on me. I offered to give them access to all my Ring Cam Footage, messages, etc. as well as to come back to our home to see it for themselves and it seems as if they are covering up for the mess Chris Latham made. Our ONLY concern has been to get the work completed as originally described by Chris and getting the shower damages fixed. Here is just a few snapshots...Still having issues, and even with them offering Lifetime Warranty, it seems as if it's only worded out to give peace of mind to us as customers knowing they won't truly warranty their work. They were supposed to replace 30ft of the cast iron going to the main line, and you can see in the highlighted circle that they did not replace it completely and left most of it. We are hoping that the owner, or someone in upper Management reviews this and gets to the bottom it so no one else goes thru this type of experience. For about 20 minutes I kept telling him everything was draining fine except for the shower drain, draining a bit slow. I understand the bad reviews now. The bait and switch is real. 50 dollars to unclog a drain, no. I used them once before when there was a blockage. They tried to upsell me in the middle of the work and I pushed back and got through it. Cost me about 500 dollars. Took them hours to get a paper towel out. This time, when I had another paper towel in a drain, they told me they needed to pressure wash the main pipe for 1800 dollars. Really? I know from last time where the area that the problem is. Just open and see. No, 1800 dollars. ONly that option. They technician was a guy named Christian. He was nice and wanting to help, but (un)luckily the division manager (the upsell instructor) showed up, JR is his name, and he had an attitude and even though it was my house and I have experience with the pipes, he knew it all and it had to be his way. JR, what you should be teaching is how to give two prices to people. Price 1 is the reasonable one that solves the problem, and Price 2 is if they want a full cleaning and then let people decide what THEY want to do, not what you are wanting to do. You taught Christian how not to upsell in this case. I suggest people stay away until JR and those like him are out of the picture. Business is about clients, not sales. I had to have my whole backyard sewer system redone and Luis and Tim were super nice and very knowledgeable of what needed to be done. They made sure all of the pipes were done correctly with little mess--a few holes in the backyard to get to the pipes but they covered everything back up when the job was complete. Buyer beware. They will promise you everything and only do less than the bare minimum. We were given a price estimate on Feb 4, we requested an itemized invoice from Tony at that time.(The invoice included the drywall repair).  On Feb 7 we paid the 10% $525.00 Feb 8 and 9 the work was completed. The plumber put pex line attached to the copper, then covered the hole with rudimentary concrete and did not sand it, they flushed the lines and got sediment and rocks in my shower nozzles, plus they never replaced or fixed the drywall.(this was quoted and agreed upon within the initial quote.)On Feb 9 we paid the remaining balance $4725.00. We had to call several times and report them to the BBB to receive an itemized invoice for our insurance. Now, a year and a half later, the same spot has burst and requires it to be fixed again. read more

I had a clog in my main line and they came right out and scoped the inside, examined what was seen on camera, and took the time to explain what I was seeing. They even sent me the video file with the audio explanation! Needless to say, they offered a solution and I agreed. They dug out the collapsed pipe, installed a new section including a 4" clean out, hydro jetted all my plumbing and it only took one day. They include a 1 year warranty which was needed for a call back about 10 days later as I had a new obstruction. The blamed it on backup from the hydro jetting and cleared it right away. Location is Ventura, CA. I don't like making negative reviews, but this experience was over the top. Guy shows up for a $50 kitchen drain clearing with a 1/4" rodder. (This would be the same size as the consumer level one I tried myself that didn't work.) It didn't work for him and I told him he needed a larger one, and he says "this is all they give us". A manager then shows up saying they need special equipment and quotes me $1800, which I decline. I did try and help them out by telling them they could get the right tool for the job at Harbor Freight for about $300. On the upside, they didn't charge me anything, so there is that. I then called a competitor, and they quoted me $150, then took care of the issue with the right tool in about 5 minutes. Triple the original quote from Elite, but 12x lower than the revised quote. Beware of the low quotes. If Elite would like the model of tool they need from Harbor Freight, they can ask here and I'd be happy to help. read more

We contacted Elite for a water heater problem. The heater was over 7 years old so a replacement was recommended. Since we were leaving out of town for a bit, I relied on their advice. The work was completed as expected (thank you). HOWEVER the bill was outrageous. We were charged $3,600 for the installation of a $1041 water heater and parts! So lesson learned. Do not use Elite Rooter with out shopping around. There is no reason for a provider to charge $2,500 for a 4 hour installation. I wish I were smarter, but learn from my mistake and use someone else. read more
