We've used them in past, one time to take over a job from a firm that made a big expensive, disruptive production over a simple matter, and even pointed out the part needed was likely under warranty and a quick phone call to the manufacturer got the part to me in a few days, no charge, which Hanson's came right out and installed. Turning a job that might of cost a lot, involving not just plumbing but also tile work, paint, etc., into a minimum call out fee. This morning I called Hanson's in a bit of a panic, I received an email from www.eyeonwater.com showing a substantial leak. Unfortunately Hanson's was booked solid, couldn't get to us until tomorrow. However, the person I was speaking to (Megan?) was over the top helpful. She directed to a Ventura County Contractor's Association website, guided me thru the steps to get to local plumbers, and aided me picking a couple to work with. That is over the top in my opinion. It was July 3rd, the beginning of a long holiday weekend. That morning we woke up to a water leak in our foundation. I called Hanson's, and the woman that I spoke with explained that they were absolutely swamped, especially with the holiday coming up. When I told her my story, she had a lot of compassion for our situation. After putting me on a brief hold she came back to the phone and told me that they would be able to get someone out there that day!!! Damon came to our home. He was so kind and very respectful. He understood our situation and moved quickly to stop the leak temporarily. We had no hot water over that long holiday weekend, but we were fortunate that we were able to have water at all!! We live in a condo with shared pipes with our neighbors. Our bathtub suddenly stopped draining and then, worse, started filling when the neighbor showered! Gross! Our HOA called a plumber (not Hansen's) who came out couldn't fix it, called in another guy, couldn't fix it, said they would have to schedule a different company to cut two big holes in our walls and then schedule another plumber to come out once that was done. This was going to take days, if not weeks, to get our bathroom in order. The next day I called Hansen's. They had two men out in less than an hour who FIXED THE ISSUE IN 30 MInutes!! Hansen's Plumbing is hands down the best company we have ever worked with. We are extremely satisfied with the service that Damon and Shane of Hansen's plumbing performed at our home in Ventura. This was no small feat, restroom issues continued for weeks! 3 plumbers later we were referred to Hansen's Plumbing. They immediately used a camera to determine issue. They within hours provided proposals on different approaches to repair. 1) bandaid $ 2) quick fix $$ 3) full guaranteed repair $$$. Of course #1 was selected No luck bad choice! Then #2 nope, again wrong choice! Finally #3 success! All options were clearly explained but we tried to do minimal. My first review is not recommended perhaps because I put in too much detail so I will make this short. You can find that review in the not recommended section. We have had a 30-year history with this company and always had a good experience until this last job where it appears that there has been a drastic change. The job foreman did not communicate the full scope of the job for each phase of the project. He told us he would put us on the schedule and would start in 6 weeks. He did not and we had to call to ask when he would start. He did not have estimates ready on time. The job took 3 months to do with trenches inside the house we were not told would be there. There were long periods of no communication where we had to track him down. The owner, who we know, kept referring us back to the foreman. We wish you luck if you hire this company. You may need it. Update: Hansen's comment on my review that is not showing is that they contacted me several times. Actually, it was twice, once leaving a voice mail and once texting me, and only after I gave them 1 star. My experience has been challenging. I ever get a call back, the work is not finished as of December 2019. I have repeatedly called the office and left voice mails, emails, that do not appear to be escalated to the owner. Follow up appears lacking, as does communication within the business. To be fair, the owner finally spoke to me after one year and a half and appeared surprised that his employees were not passing on messages. He seems to sincerely care about his business, but not aware of day to day workings due to some internal communication issues. Once the work is almost done and payment is received the finished items such as inspection, follow through get lost in the shuffle. I realize everyone is very busy, but integrity and customer responce are the bread and butter of any business. I wanted to give a higher rating as I thought the work was good, but hesitate due to broken down communication within the company and lack of inspection by an impartial third party. Very professional, very congenial, snaked the drain, tested the washing machine and discovered there was a crack in the washing machine drain hose. He said Hansen's was who he would send people to if his dad wasn't available. Hansen's came out and an hour and $150 later they had found and fixed the problem. We used Hansen's for our house and all our rentals for almost 30 years and were always pleased. This last job there was little to no communication, it took 3 months to get the job done - much longer than we were told -, the job was way more money than were told. I found a 2 foot patch of mold on my kitchen wall, under a plaque. My homeowners insurance determined it was caused by a leak, and sent Servicemaster out to evaluate.They recommended this plumber. The crew of 2 showed up on time, and were professional in their demeanor. I explained that I had a similar leak a year before, and I was concerned about whether the repair was done correctly, since I believed my plumber usually did an excellent job. They took a quick look with a flashlight through an outside access door and told me it looked like the work was shoddy. I was given an estimate of about $200, and they told me they would be done in 15 minutes. I was shocked, first of all, because I didn't believe it COULD be properly evaluated, much less fixed from the access door, and second because they would charge $200 for 30 minutes! They proceeded to try to patch the pipe but after the15 minutes repair, and 15 minutes to run the water through it, they reported that they now believed they needed to get at a section they couldn't reach. I told them for the second time that the plumber had to open the wall and ceiling in the kitchen the last time, that it was quick work after doing that, but the man insisted it would be easier if he went and bought an extension for his tool, and tried to drill it from the outside access door. However, now it would be 3 days from now, since it was Friday, and he had another call and also had to buy the part. And by the way, it would now be about $450. On Monday they showed up and within 20 minutes they had cut a section of the pipe out and replaced it. But then they ran water for a while and noticed that using the extension they had nicked the pipe on the other side of the fitting, which was now leaking, so they finally informed me that they were going to do as I suggested, and as the former plumber had done, and open the wall about 3 feet, and the ceiling adjacent. And by the way, it was going to be a few hundred dollars more. (It had taken about 15 minutes for the repair and 15 mintues of running the water). They used a Sawzall and removed the drywall, and cut open the ceiling then replaced the fitting they had nicked with a new one, and were done within another 30 minutes. Overall the amount of time they spent at my house was about 2 and a half hours, and half of it was spent running water and standing around waiting to see if it was leaking. After they were done, they wrote up the order and it was about $890.00. When I asked if they would document on the paperwork that the former plumber had done an inadequate job, as they had claimed initially, the foreman recanted, saying that it actually looked great when they looked at it closer. Had they not misled me initially, I would have opted to use my own plumber to fix this similar problem, as I had the previous time. The prior repair, which was almost identical--just a different connection--took less time and cost $600. Overall, I felt I was being "shaken down." The manner in which they kept inflating the price seemed like it was not tied to any real measurement--they just gauged how much they could get away with and went for it. Overall, I felt extremely taken advantage of. I tried complaining to my claims adjuster, who also thought the price was too high, but Hansen's Plumbing is a subcontracter of Servicemaster, so they were twice removed from my homeowners insurance, and no one could do anything on my behalf. read more

He also showed up right on time! He explained everything he was doing step by step. I received a referral for Hansens Plumbing after a receiving an unrealistic estimate from a larger, "franchise" company that I felt was unacceptable. I spoke with Cary in the office and he concurred that the previous estimate did not seem to make sense and perhaps there was an alternate, more affordable solution. He sent out Alex and Daniel and within a few hours they arrived to tackle my clogged toilet. They went to work and had to get creative to find a solution due to the nature of my plumbing configuration. They worked hard, but were friendly, professional and clean throughout the process. I choose one star because of the lack of professionalism and lack of respect for a customers property. I had taken all the towels out but made the mistake of leaving a bathmat in the bathroom which they use to wipe up the mud and muck from their plumbing job. The stuff did not wash out of the mat. I thought they would know to bring their own towel or rag. Then they broke a glazed potted plant and didn't say anything about it. Then they decided to use my cart to haul away the dirt but didn't bother to clean it out when they were done. I would've thought they would know to bring a wheelbarrow or cart of the job. I guess the work was OK though. So if you want OK work and don't mind cleaning up after them then these are your guys. If they would have mentioned that they used a mat because they forgot theirs or had broken something by mistake or asked to use or mentioned the use of the cart this would be a completely different story.
