I'm always on the hunt for a nail spot because I don't have a regular place that I go. I get a pedicure around once or twice a year so it's usually just a walk in situation for me. I was thinking about checking out Sara's Nails but then found Elite Nails & Spa on Yelp. Not having to cross the East Beltline was kind of a bonus so I gave them a call to see if they had any availability for that afternoon - which they did! I walked in and was greeted right away and asked what I was in for. They do seem to take appointments as a couple people came in after me and mentioned their appointment. However, one group was turned away because they were late for their time slot - so be timely if you have a reservation. I chose a nail polish from the huge selection - I will say that many of the polishes looked like they were separating. I don't know that much about nail polish (remember, I only get a pedicure like once a year lol) but that kind of seemed like maybe they were old. I'm sure you can also bring your own polish if you have one that you like. I got seated quickly and the pedicure was pleasant. They have a few options for pedicures at different price points. I wasn't asked which level I wanted, nor did I specify, but I ended up getting the Basic pedicure for $35, which I feel is reasonably priced and in line with other spots I've been to in the past. The scrub and hot towels were nice. The pedicure itself was gentle and I was really pleased with the results. They do take credit cards for payment, but their receipt slips don't have a tip line, so you can either let them know you'd like to add a tip before they run your card, or they can run it again for the tip amount. They do prefer tips in cash, so I'll be sure to bring some next time. read more

After having a dip manicure for almost a month, I stopped by Elite nails on East Beltline and did a quick half hour session with Kim to remove the old manicure and restore my natural nails back to health. Kim was amazing and took them off without much effort and nourished my cuticles very nicely. They did her pedi and started my mani then said they did hear her so I would need to wait but still took two young walk ins and a older lady who walked in all white and finished their service! Great place at a fair price! $60 (before tip) for a luxurious pedicure and shellac fingernails. I have been here 3 times and they are consistent with their service and very friendly! I called and made an appt with "the girl at the last desk in the very back" (couldn't remember her name but I knew she did a good job!) Although she did not end up doing my nails (no explanation offered for this) I was still very impressed with the ladies that ended up doing my nails. My pedicure was not rushed, in fact I felt my nail tech spent extra time with the cuticle cutting , orange salt scrub applied, extensive massage and careful attention to the polish application. I had another girl doing my cuticle cutting on my finger nails at the same time, and I got out of there within an hour. This is a pretty small and narrow salon, no coat hooks are available but I find the "fancier" the salon the higher the price. My nails look great, I am very picky and there are no obvious imperfections. Plus I'm so happy to support businesses at this corner of of GR - the celebration cinema north village to be exact. He put a pea size amount of lotion on each hand and spent about one minute for each hand. The polish or the way he did my nails did not cover well. I came back a year after a first very unfavorable experience for a shellac manicure and pedicure. I walked in and wasn't greeted by anyone, despite there being a bell on the door in which I said "HI" to be acknowledged and I was then asked what I needed done. I was told to pick out a color and was then directed to a pedicure chair. My tech was pleasant. She clipped my toe nail without asking (I was too busy relaxing on my phone to stop her) in which I then told her I didn't want them clipped. Other than that, she did a great job with my pedicure, she thoroughly massaged my legs and my paint was neatly done. Now my nails are the reason why they're only getting 3 stars. I had previously had my shellac manicure done at Bliss Nail Bar which is where I usually go but I moved from Grandville & was in the area to see a movie at Celebration. Anyway, I believe the owner (sits at the very front chair by the register) was the one that came to apply the acetone and foil wraps to remove the shellac while I was getting my pedicure done. After about 15 mins, she came over to begin scrapping the paint off. When she realized it wasn't moving, she became frustrated then came back with a drill to get the layers off and reapply the acetone and foil. By this time, I'm nearly finished with my pedicure so as soon as the other tech is done, I hobble over to the front chair for her to proceed to scrape and drill on my nails which caused a lot of damage and she did not care one bit. This irritated me because the last service I had at Bliss Nail Bar, I had my acrylics removed and Sean was able to do that without damaging my already fragile nails. I really want to get them back long and strong (they grow as long and strong as acrylics) and she set me back a lot because I'm sure when I have to get them re-done, they'll have to be cut down. My polish turned out fine but that wasn't my main concern coming in there. I ended up feeling rushed instead of completely relaxed and my nails ended up being cute but not healthy. I would advise that nails techs focus on the needs of their clients by asking because nobody cared to ask me before they began doing things. UPDATE: I got my nails done Thursday. It's now Monday and my nails look like this, especially with it being shellac. I haven't washed a single dish or done any dirty work so I'm not understanding why they look like this. I went back to the salon to give them a chance to fix them. I asked for a different brand of nail polish but two of the workers, the one that did my nails the first time and the other that sits to her left wanted to argue with me about hair dye and being careful with touching my hair which hasn't been dyed. On top of that, I had had a yellow OPI color two weeks before that, no changes with my hair or daily activity and my nails weren't turning colors. They then only offered to fix two nails versus the brand change I had asked for and they were talking about be in front of my face in the foreign language that they speak in which I told them I'm not going back and forth about it - they could either fix them or I'd dispute it with my card company. They tried to tell me to remember what they said for the next time I came back and I told them I didn't have to remember anything because my hair hadn't been dyed and even if it had, that wasn't the cause of my issue - they were acting like I was lying so I told them nevermind, I don't want them touching my nails again and I wouldn't be coming back. read more

Nails do not last. They do not pay attention to details. Unless you tell them, they will do the bare minimum and I usually have to come back. I only come here for a shellac manicure know will last a week or dip that last a week and a half. They now charge you for taking shellac and dip off before manicure or pedicure. read more

I like Elite Nails. They do a nice job with a gel manicure and gel pedicure. I'll be honest I have never had a gel pedicure before. This is the WAY to go! Sure it costs more but then you're not fussing, trying to get your toes to dry with regular polish. Elite Nails has been accommodating from a schedule standpoint with each visit. Everything was clean and appealing. They frequently change out their drill tips and even use drill tips I've not seen before. So they're definitely current on their skills too! I don't often go to Knapp Corners but when it coincides with another trip I will have Elite do my nails. read more

This is my regular nail salon. I have a couple of favorite technicians here that do an amazing job with my acrylic overlay and gel manicures. The nails are strong and literally look perfect. I can always count on Elite for a flawless manicure Side note: sometimes the manicures take a bit longer than normal (I plan on 80-90min) but the job is done well so I don't mind it. I got gel powder and tips at Elite Nails and had the worst experience. The woman that was doing my nails wasn't paying attention to my nails when she was doing them. I originally asked for a double French and she said she could do it, but it ended up looking terrible so she started all over. After that --and what was my first hour their-- I decided to just do a simple color. The shape of my nails is terrible. Not clean at all and she filed them so roughly that I started bleeding on one finger and 2 others became extremely tender. I even winced when in the chair and she just giggled. It ended up being a 2 hour experience because she had to redo them. And on top of that I thought I would have to pay for her mistake and because I bled but i ended up being charged for the second round as well. My mom graciously wanted to treat me to a manicure and pedicure for my birthday and I hope this becomes a birthday tradition! She picked this place because it's close to my home and they took a payment over the phone. When I came in, I was told that she did not pay though the woman (presumably the owner or manager) did not check anything or ask another employee. Someone else heard the conversation, intervened and was able to show her in the appointment book that there was indeed a lumber. I was taken aback that it took someone else to come over and we would have double paid if it wasn't for her, thanks friend! The quality of the work was great and I was pretty in and out. This business has been opened for about a year now and it is Fantastic! I'm a big fan of the Shilaq manicure and I cannot find another salon that can do it as properly and beautifully as they do! For pedicures I go to either Stacey or Linh because they like to take their time and they do a really good job. For the Shilaq also I go to Linh because he takes his time and it lasts really long or Stacey because she makes me feel like Im the VIP at the salon. I am a nail biter and since they did my nails they have grown long and strong. My shilaq nails lasts about 3 and a half weeks which is mind boggling to me! and the thing is they can all speak ENGLISH! Everything is neat and sterile and it is a hidden gem in the Celebration Cinema circle. The other nail salons in there do not compare! They are right next to the Subway and Qdoba restraunt so I always get food after :) read more

I was able to call and get an appointment in very easily. They were very busy on a Wednesday evening but still very accommodating. My gel manicure is ON POINT. The care and time put into it was great. I decided to get a pedicure also at the last minute. I get ingrowns on my big toe (ouch!) and Nina totally took care of me- as painful as it Is. She wasn't too rough while filing them down and took extra time to make sure they were the same sizes and shapes to each other!! Just left Elite Nails. I have been going there for years although today was a different experience. First off the gal I usually request has left the salon. Ive had 4 different techs since then which have been "ok". todays tech however was the worse pedicure Ive ever had in my entire life. she spent most of the service (total of 30 minutes) on my legs with some sort of soap. As she was rubbing my legs she would use her nails to scratch me and of course I would jump a bit because it hurt. Ive never had a tech do this before. Then the manager/owner put on her coat and left. The energy shifted into full boar negativity. She never used lotion or massage my feet (which is my favorite part) even with the soap. She hurriedly applied my nail polish and was very dismissive. I elected to not go forward with my manicure. Will not be going back. read more

My mom and I decided to walk in for pedicures. We asked if they had room for two people to get pedicures together, they said yes. There were two chairs open so we waited thinking we'd sit there. Instead, they took my mom to a chair and told me to wait. We again said we wanted to sit together and go at the same time and could wait. They said nope...the chair next to my mom would be open any minute. 15 minutes later my mom was almost finished with her pedicure...and 4other people were sat before me (including next to her). I told the lady that they could finish my moms and that I'd go someplace else. I won't be back! If they had just been honest from the beginning we would have gone to another place (I'm sure that's why they said yes...they wanted the business). i've come here plenty of times hoping for better and every time it gets worse. i know go to a different salon for my nails but my mom wanted to come here today. i go in and immediately they don't greet me or anything but say "we're busy" and to take a seat if i want. no estimated wait time or anything. i sit down and about a half an hour goes by and still nothing. a girl comes in and gets the same response but asks when she could get in and they said over an hour. she ended up leaving and shortly after so did i. the times i've been here and actually waited, i've probably sat there for 2 hours and got horribly done nails that chip the second i leave the salon and i usually end up bleeding. read more

Tried to give this place another try today. Earlier I went for a pedicure and a girl used a razor on my calluses and I was bleeding in four spots. Today, tried to call ahead to see how busy they were. The gentleman who answered the phone indicated it was a good time to come. I get there walk in the door quote "we too busy right now." I wish they would take down your name and hold a chair for you. Tried to say I called ahead they tried to change their tune but it was obvious but it have to wait at least an hour. If it's busy just say so when a customer calls ahead. Don't trick me into coming in. read more
