They do not use a base coat of color and I had never had that happened before. They also do not offer hybrid gel which I like to get on my hands. If I'm in a pinch and need to cheat on my regular nail tech, I'll return again :).

My gel polish was also lifting almost 5 days later. I hesitated to post since they were very sweet and clean, but $70 is not cheap and I expected quality work given the pictures on here. They also didn't even bother to do cuticle work or rub my hands with lotion. The gentleman who did my nails simply squeezed the lotion in my hand to then apply myself. I also found it odd he didn't ask me to wash my hands after filing the acrylic. I ultimately had to go elsewhere to have them removed. My main advice is that if you go here, specifically ask for the person who does the nails in the pictures because you won't get what you ask for from the others.

I believed that nothing I did could ever give me simple, healthy nail beds with normal fingernails. Lanessa is a scientist behind the table -- make no mistake. This was no normal manicure. Although I came to her with tiny nail beds, bitten nails below the quick, and peeling cuticles, I left the salon impressed that even this first step towards healthy hands looked great. The question was, would the beautiful shaping, polishing, and moisturizing treatment last? I'm at two weeks now and I can tell you three things: 1. I almost don't recognize my hands without my picking, biting, tearing at them. The manicure is still perfect and chip-free. I'm wearing rings! (This is a big deal if you're used to being ashamed of your hands.) 2. I can see a very clear (and fast!) area of growth smiling under each delicate pink plot of polish. It's beyond encouraging to see how quickly this is happening now that I'm keeping my fingernails out of my mouth! 3. When I go back, I'm absolutely going to ask Lanessa to make me exactly this happy about my toes, too. I used to think I wasn't someone who could have normal and healthy looking, pretty nails. Now, I'm in the club! I'm going to wear sandals! I'm in excellent hands. Lanessa assesses the health of your nails first. She cares for your nail health before anything else. And the whole process feels exactly like the pampering you'd expect from a top name salon. I love this combination! The furniture around the bar has definitely seen better days, but I still love that it's different than any other place. The pedicure chairs are amazing and clean! I got a dip manicure for my wedding and it was great! My only issue was that about 4 days after my nails started to yellow really bad around the edges. This only happened on my right hand, so I'm wondering if it didn't get left in the UV light long enough or maybe for too long. I thought it was weird that it happened to only one hand. Regardless, the color turned out just as expected and everything was reasonably priced. I also got my toes done in a gel polish and they lasted for about 6 weeks. I ended up taking them off because of growth rather than chipping. I highly recommend this place!

This makes it disappointing to leave a review under these circumstances. During a recent eyebrow service completed by the female owner, Vee, I communicated that I wanted my eyebrows thinner. She proceeded using a device, and within 24 hours I developed welts underneath and around my eyebrows, followed by minor pain and visible bruising. I will be attaching photos for reference. I initially attempted to address this concern by phone, but Vee advised she could not hear me. I then visited the salon in person to show the bruising and seek a resolution. I spoke with her boyfriend, who is also an owner, and he called for her to come speak with me. As they spoke in their native language, Vee avoided all contact with me and did not acknowledge my presence, nor did she inquire as to why I was there or address the visible bruising at all. I take confrontation seriously and approach it with the intent to resolve issues respectfully. Because of this encounter, I strongly disagree with the attitude displayed by Vee and the owners' inability to acknowledge or address the injury left behind. For this reason, I will no longer be a customer at this establishment. The quality of work itself has generally been good; however, future customers should be aware that if concerns arise, there may be issues with accountability and customer service, which does not appear to be a priority.

I scheduled my appointment for 4/24, but when I was about to leave, my phone alerted me that there was a tornado warning in my area and it was unsafe to drive. Luckily, I was able to call HV and easily reschedule my appointment to 5/25 with no problems! Upon my arrival, I was immediately greeted with a cold water and directed to my massage chair. I waited for about 10 minutes before a nail tech came over and started my treatment, which was no problem for me at all, but both the technician and the manager on duty were so apologetic and even added on extra time to my leg massage to make up for it! The way everyone goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction is what makes the prices at HV worth it. I was super impressed with my gel pedicure and my acrylic manicure, and I especially appreciated that the nail techs asked me several times throughout the process to make sure I liked everything. I didn't feel rushed during my pedicure. I got the $45 pedicure and I feel that it was worth the extra $10 from the basic. She put a lotion, exfoliating scrub, and then another lotion + hot towel on my legs in addition to the callous removal and normal pedicure. Very relaxing! Chairs were nice and comfy and didn't feel worn down like at other places. I paid cash but they do have credit card machines. The only odd thing that stood out was they didn't have fans to blow for a non gel pedicure but not a dealbreaker for going back.
