It's nice to have a call ahead drive thru in the area. The food is good and we really like the hush puppies.

When I go to the Farmers' Market in Carrboro, I try to go with a full stomach so I'm not tempted to…read moreeat the baked goodies. Temptation generally wins. There I was, standing in front of a bakery case with a ridiculous name--Chicken Bridge--looking at the bagels. Sour dough bagels. Why I decided to buy one, I don't know, especially as it was a whopping $2. I took a bite, then bought the remaining bagel. The following week I went online, ordered a dozen bagels for $1.60 each. This is my new go-to bagel place. Why? They are chewy, flavorful with a sourdough yeasty smell. With my first bagel, I handed out bites to friends at the market, watched their expressions register that aha, these are real bagels, not the doughy circles from other bakeries. I taste their bread samples every week, love the semolina fennel, but keep ordering bagels. They said that the bagels are complicated, take a long time. I can vouch that they are worth every penny. They also provide crusty hearty breads for a local CSA. PS I can't find their phone number.

As home bread-bakers, it was important to my fiance and I to have amazing bread at our wedding…read more Chicken Bridge made two different types of loaves for us, a sourdough, and a corn-wheat loaf. Each was stamped with a personalized stencil with our initials. Even the grain they used was local, making our wedding bread so personal and amazing. We ordered 30 loaves, finished on time and perfectly fresh for our event. These loaves were not only outstandingly delicious but also were absolutely gorgeous! They completed our tables and made our wedding dinner perfect.

One negative, otherwise great pizza, seating, restrooms etc…read more Everything is self-serve, when at cash register giving order and paying with card it asked for custom tip, 18%, and higher! This is a serve yourself, clear the table like a McDonalds. Requesting a tip upfront before receiving pizza and being self serving restaurant I found this over and above. Someone brings pizza to table when cooked. Otherwise it's on you. I spoke with the cashier about this and he said it was the owners thing. Seems like money grabbing to me to pay the bills. I think this will chill more customers than is worth it. Maybe not, maybe just me‍

Food and Drink: Mannnnn it has been over a decade since I had last this place and it brought back…read moreso many memories of my time in Mebane!! For dinner, I had the Johnson Club, onion rings, and sweet tea. The club was and still is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The amount of protein is plentiful, and the addition of the egg puts this over the top. The restaurant is a bakery so the bread used for the sub is soft and fresh. The onion rings were hot, had the perfect amount of crisp and they were not soggy like other places I've been to. Overall, I left with nostalgia and I am definitely looking forward to coming back! Customer Service: Upon arrival, the waitresses welcomed me in and invited me to sit anywhere. I was promptly tended to and my waitress was soooooo friendly!!! It's the southern charm and politeness I miss the most about North Carolina and neighboring areas. Already knowing the sandwich I wanted, I took her advice between the fries and onion rings and she didn't steer me wrong! I appreciate her work ethic and making sure that everyone in the dining room had what they needed and helping a few others (some first timers!) decide on what they wanted. Ambiance: This place is casual, and intimate in a way. It's not a huge space but it's big enough for multiple groups to enjoy lunch or small families to have a sit-in dinner. I highly recommend this place as a stop on any commute between Charlotte and the Research Triangle Area.
