Eleven has been doing great on social media, with well known foodies raving & sharing their gorgeous photos over the last few months. I immediately saved Eleven on my bookmark list in hopes that the taste and experience would live up to the curated social media posts. Eleven is tucked secretly into the Foodland at A La Moana, almost as if it were a speakeasy. Although it technically isn't, there is a mysteriousness about the place that we loved. Although we were able to get in without a reservation on a Saturday night, we felt lucky. I highly recommend making reservations on Open Table since they definitely seem to be getting popular quickly. When you arrive, enjoy the beautiful scents of the smoked cocktails. They have an amazing whiskey selection and you can get any of the cocktails or whiskeys smoked, which makes the whole place smell fantastic and even more enigmatic. Although we didn't choose whiskey cocktails, we did choose cocktails that were fantastic. The Kaka'ako Mule and the Cosmopolita. The mule was perfectly spicy, while the cosmopolita was one of the best margarita-like drinks I've ever had. Food-wise, don't expect to have dinner, but rather small plates and tapas. In my opinion, this is a fantastic spot for drinks and snacks before moving elsewhere for dinner. Everything we ordered was awesome and everything else around us looked just as awesome. Weirdly enough, my favorite was their house made potato chips with Worcestershire aioli. At a whopping $5.00, we were shocked by how much we loved them. Same with the popcorn. Calling all whiskey/bourbon/scotch enthusiasts! If Glen is your bestie... you know, Glenlivet, Glen Grant, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas, and Glenmorangie, then Foodland Ala Moana might just be your Angel's Envy. Eleven's focus is on artisan cocktails, specifically in the scotch, whiskey, and bourbon department. Named after their 11th Foodland store, this location can give Whole Foods a run for their money with their ready-to-go food and beverage selection. The restaurant specifically, however, is in the back on the left. A heavy swinging door partitions the supermarket buzz into a swanky, subdued enclave. Space is just enough for about 40-50pp comfortably (12-13 two tops and counter at the bar). Dress code is business local/casual. Timothy was well versed and so knowledgeable about the crafts and bites! The lovely bestie Denby R. and I ordered the ahi tartare, potato chips, and a great selection of toasts: zaatar roasted beets, lacinato kale, and ho farms tomato. I am not a whiskey fan, but ordered the recommended Woodford Reserve for the holiday spirit. It was a nice introduction to whiskey when crafted as a sour, but I appreciated Denby's Glenfiddich for its smoother, refined taste (prepared on the rock). I defaulted back to my Mules and ordered the Kakaako version (no Serrano chilis). So good! Dessert trio was the perfect closure to our food and drink experience. The order was specific, for good reason. The fromage panna cotta had robust notes of goat or feta, followed by the citric notes of the old fashioned puffs. Back in Person review finally! We've decided to dine out more frequently as take out while nice was getting a little stale. We had some things to do in the Ala Moana area and I've been wanting to check out Eleven in person so this Saturday evening was perfect. We arrived at approx 6 pm, no reservations but they could accommodate the two of us so happily grabbed a table. Food: Smaller shareable plates which we love as it lets us try a variety of dishes. We started off with their house fried potato chips which as just salty enough to make our cocktails extra tasty! I had a smoked Knob Creek Old Fashioned followed by a smoky Penicillin. We had the Roasted Beets, Kale, and Cured Salmon dishes. Each dish was solid, severed on a baguette slice which made it the perfect bite. Service: Service was very good although the food did take a little while to arrive, not a big deal as many places are having challenges with staffing shortages. The drinks came out quickly though so we enjoyed sipping on them and relaxing until our food hit the table. Atmosphere: Tucked away in the back corner of Foodland Farms, it's easy to miss but look for the properly attired person at the door. Inside it's a nice oasis, very open, relaxed, and perfect for either a start to an evening or a wind down to a long day of shopping. Value: Overall value was decent. They carry many quality bottles at very good prices. Food is very affordable but portion sizes are meant to be more bite sized so don't expect a heaping plate. Tucked in the corner of Foodland Farms at Ala Moana by the wine and plant sections, this charming little cocktail bar is the perfect little respite from the hustle bustle of of the mall. Don't expect full on dinner with hot food. This is more tapas style with an emphasis on toasts... not as in Champagne and New Year but as in bread exposed to heat. We ordered the entire menu and totally enjoyed it. Some more than others, but we can honestly say, there was not a bad dish. Our faves were the Za'atar Roasted beets with Greek feta cheese and spiced honey, roasted pumpkin seeds on seeded rye and the Ahi Tartare with caper, pickled serrano chili, evoo on rice crackers. Our biggest take away with the menu was that the ingredients were super fresh and the dishes were constructed with much thoughtfulness and creativity. Additionally we found the prices to be very reasonable. If you're a whiskey drinker, this place is for you. A massive selection of whiskeys...bourbon, scotch, rye... although I did notice a conspicuous absence of Japanese whiskey. Interesting.. I guess there's a method to the madness. I can see myself stopping here for a drink and quick bite in between errands or as a warmer upper before dinner. There's a bar with about 7 seats but noTVs and I'm sure that's by design so you'd have to actually live in the present with your companion(s) or in my case with my glass of wine Don't judge ... Tonight my boyfriend's friend reserved us a table together at Eleven, and we had a wonderful experience. ***What we ordered ~ **PANDANIMAL (7/10) ~ This interesting cocktail came with rum, homemade pandan, coconut, orgeat, giffard crème de cacao, and pineapple juice. If you like cereal, this is perfect for you. It had a creamy texture, and it was SUPER sweet. Although it was too sweet to my liking, I'm honestly glad I tried something different! **BASIL GIMLET (10/10) ~ Do you like tangy and sweet? Well, this is the PERFECT cocktail for you. This cocktail came with gin, lime, basil, and meringue! It's the perfect mix and a fantastic cocktail! I finished this drink SOOO fast. **Sake Cured Salmon (10/10) ~ This is a fancy lox bagel but on toast. You may think for $12; it's a joke. I kid you not; you should try it. All the flavors blended so well together to create the perfect savory bite. Words really can't explain how delicious it was, but I highly recommend it! **Sweet Symphony (6.5/10) I've seen many people recommend this dessert, and I thought it was overhyped. The cream puffs were a little dry on the inside, and the fromage panna cotta was okay, but the mocha bonbons were pretty good! Came here with a reservation at 6:30 on a Saturday. I love all of the Foodland bars/restaraunts at the other ones so I was super excited to try this place! For drinks I had the Hemingway Daiquiri ($13) and Pickled Garden ($13). Daiquiri was good, wasn't too sweet because of the grapefruit which I liked, but I really really enjoyed the picked garden. They said it was their take on a bloody mary, and in my opinion it's better :) I'm not a whiskey person, but they have a huge selection with pictures of several different ways you can have it made- pretty cool! For food we got the Prosciutto Asparagus ($13), Ahi Tartare (MKT price) and the Ho Farm Tomato ($11). The prosciutto asparagus wasn't quite what I was expecting- only two pieces of asparagus (could have been cooked better) with a piece of white toast with an egg in it...probably was not our favorite. The ahi was really good though and the Ho Farm tomato was definitely my favorite- so flavorful in every bite! We also got the sweet symphony ($11) trio for dessert which came with cream puffs, fromage panna cotta, and mocha bon bons. It was a nice way to finish off our drinks & snacks, but probably could have done without this one. Overall, service was great and the atmosphere is great for a quieter date night or place to catch up with a friend. Excellent! I've been here twice so far. The first time, I had the tomatoes on bread, which was delicious, and a couple of old fashioned drinks, smoked. What a wonderful show it is when they bring it out with smoke and swirl it around. The wait staff are very knowledgeable about all the drinks and can make recommendations based on what you like. 5 star service from Tim this lovely Friday evening and amazing craftsmanship from the bartenders I didn't get to meet yet. Hidden away in foodland farms is this oasis... nay speakeasy feel hideaway that makes it challenging to speak...due to it's alluring whisky forward menu. There is no judgment here. Experiment and question everything. Your attentive hosts are delighted to answer your questions and learn/grow with you together. I almost don't want to share this place because I want to keep it MY secret hideaway. I recommend a reservation since the space is intimate. Tim was considerate enough to ask if there was any food restrictions in the group. As someone with no allergies or dietary restrictions, these type of accomodations are often overlooked by myself but highly considerate nonetheless. We ordered the Vieux carre (made with angels envy Kentucky bourbon) and horses neck to start. What an amazing first impression. Order the bacon fat popcorn appetizer if it's the least you can do. The small bites are also fantastic compliments to rest the palate in between sips. Eleven was great. We made reservations and they were very accommodating. We didn't know what to order to Galen went over everything with is. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all our questions and explain so much. Great service. The drinks were good. They specialize in whiskey so they have a very large selection to choose from. They don't have too much for beer and wine because they don't want to compete with the wine bar inside of Foodland. They're changing their food menu so I would be excited to go back and try that out. They had small dishes to choose from which were good, but just small, haha. Mostly different kinds of toasts. It is not, however, your date night spot or if you're planning on pouring your heart out to your friend over a long night. See below for reasons. Ambience: bright. That's the standout theme about Eleven. Not that the décor wasn't tastefully done, it's just that it doesn't look the part of a speakeasy / cocktail joint. It's almost too bright for anyone to get tipsy and not feel out of place. Drinks: overall too sweet. And that's the issue I have with most cocktails - the ones that are supposed to be sweet AND the ones that are not - on the island. My Hay Day (smoky old fashioned), which shouldn't be sweet, had too much sugar in it. Hours: they close at midnight on weekends. I got to experience this cute bar for a yelp event hosted by Staci. The ambiance, food and drinks were so elegant and delicious. The cocktail presentation was gorgeous and fun, some even served with a beautiful smoke. All of the staff dressed in holiday attire and were warm and professional. Eleven is a gorgeous, quaint restaurant nestled in the food land farms. It has everything you need. Plus, there's plenty of parking. We made reservations for 6 people for the weekend buffet brunch and were seated in a 4 top table in the corner. Our party included an elderly person who uses a walker. When we asked for a larger table to accommodate us, the manager rudely asked why do you want to move and said he was expecting several large parties. In fact, during our 2 hour brunch, not a single party arrived after us. There were only 5 people total besides our party in the entire restaurant. The moment we were seated, they were so unprepared and unprofessional. There was not a single piece of tableware or anything on our table. The waitress seemed bored and the staff was not helpful. We ordered iced tea and had to ask for sugar and straws. The staff mostly just stood around, looking half asleep like they did not want to be there. Some of the food labels on the buffet table were either not visible or totally missing. If you are short or in a wheelchair, this place is not for you. The food is mostly on one long high table facing the bar. The savory food was good for the price but the desserts were on par with foodland farms...too commercial and too sweet. Nothing left me going back for more and nothing creative or innovative. The 2 stars are for interior design, food and drink but that's all. This restaurant is tucked away in the back of Foodland Farms Ala Moana. It is cosy with nice ambient lighting, comfortable chairs and a bar section. We went here for the weekend brunch. There was an assortment of breakfast pastries which complemented the coffee well. Additional items: nice Asian salad with crispy wontons, grilled veggies, Chia parfait, shrimp cocktail, fruits, prime rib fried rice, eggs, breakfast meats, ube Haupia French toast (was kinda soggy) grilled fish, chicken, garlic prime rib, and the most amazing seafood gumbo. The prime rib was small and cute - a nice tasting portion, with available au jus and roasted garlic and horseradish. Service was impeccable. Wait staff cleared our dishes quickly and filled our water and coffee timely. And because you may not have had enough to eat they give you a little tasting dessert dish at the end of your meal - cheesecake and pumpkin crunch. There was no white rice which I think most locals want to balance out the flavors. Very nice special occasion place. Highly recommend. read more

We made reservations for Sunday brunch through Open Table a month out after reading reviews. It's located inside Foodland Farms at Ala Moana and a quick Uber from Waikiki. We ate at the first sitting and the restaurant was pretty empty. There's not that many tables. The food was fresh. There were baked pastries, fresh fruit, pasta salad, salad, eggs, potatoes, sausage, fish, chicken, cocktail shrimp, chowder, asparagus, and beef carving station. I might have left out a few dishes. I tasted most dishes and they were all good. Not all buffets serve good food. I do wish there was a bit more options to choose from but we still left there full. The servers were attentive and friendly, quick to refill the trays, remove empty dishes, refill our drinks, etc. We walked around the mall after our meal to work off the calories. read more

We went for their Sunday Brunch and they offered a great menu including prime rib! Best part is that it was All you can eat!

First, let me say this is our third or forth visit to Eleven for their weekend brunch and as usual the food is all excellent, the facilities are bright and clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly however we did have some challenges this time. We are a party of 8 and on open table you cannot book a party larger than 6 so my wife and I each booked a party of 4, assuming we could probably be seated next to each other, but if not we were ok with that. On open table there are 2 choices "bar seating" or "standard seating" and we both selected standard seating. Having been there several times we know how limited the seating alternatives are so my wife and I arrived about 20 minutes before they opened to make sure we were first in line and had the best opportunity to sit near each other. No one came out of the restaurant until 2 minutes before opening time and the host took our names and found both reservations and asked us to come in. Once inside he told us we would be seated at 4 very small round, low cocktail tables. I asked if we could please sit at the standard height rectangular tables and he said they were all reserved. I expressed a concern that we had booked "standard seating" via open table, so I didn't understand how specific tables could be reserved, as there were only 2 choices "bar" or "standard". At any rate I was not successful in getting us moved so the 8 of us, including 7 adults had to sit wt what I can only describe as 4 miniature, short cocktail tables. The tables were very low and at least 3 of the adults could not put their legs under the tables, and I know at least for myself it was very uncomfortable having to bend over to eat at these tiny tables. As a restaurant these tiny, short tables should be replaced with standard tables, or at a minimum provide an additional seating selection on open table to select "bar", "standard" and "cocktail" seating. Very disappointing to spend over $300 for a breakfast buffet and have very uncomfortable seating where our legs couldn't even fit under the tables. A waitress did thank us for coming and she told us on open table we could select the type of table we wanted so I opened the app and showed her there were only 2 choices and she said well I should have added a request note to open table or called them and made my request. She was trying to be helpful and I appreciated her concern, but it shouldn't be quite so difficult to book a reservation for eight with standard seating. As extraordinary as the food is, I will have to think twice before I try to book here again. So disappointing read more

This was one of the worst meal experiences I've had in a while and I was really surprised. We went for their well-known $35 brunch buffet and we enjoyed only 3 of the items. Even for a low price of $35, it was not worth it. The fingerling potatoes were so dry that we weren't actually sure how it was possible to cook potatoes to this point. The steak was incredibly tough and hard to chew. The scrambled eggs were incredibly under seasoned. Also, when we arrived for our reservation at 12:45 the majority of the food was cold and most of the serving platters were empty. We waited a while to get fresh food. The only things we enjoyed were the garlic rice, corn chowder soup, and sweet bread french toast. Also, our server was quite rude and cold to us right off the bat and continued to be quite rude to us throughout the entire meal. I make it a point to only leave good Yelp reviews but this dining experience was one of the worst I've had in a long time and I wanted to write a review so that others don't waste their hard earned money here and end up disappointed like we did. read more

So excited to try and we were not disappointed...it was yummy! We tried everything. It's a nice brunch and we left totally satisfied. Other reviews go into the dishes so I won't go over them again but really tasty and so worth it! Two words: Bacon. Slab. (I loved it on the egg scramble!) Although they have a limited wait staff we had no issues and got great service. The staff was consistently refilling the buffet while we were there. Eleven has a very unique low-lit atmosphere - a speakeasy comes to mind. It's a cool place to come by and have some fun drinks. Most of the small plates were absolutely wonderful and we tried ALOT of dishes. The reason I selected 3 stars (and I honestly hovered between 2 or 3) is the service or lack thereof. Four of us came in early on Saturday night and were excited to check out the place. Our server started out well- she was attentive and answered our questions. Since there were 4 of us and one of the dishes only had 3 pieces, she asked if we wanted to add another piece. "Yes, please" was our response. As you can see from my photos - we ordered a lot of food. Unfortunately our server only asked us that initial time about having 4 pieces instead of 3 so we had to split some items. My big gripe, however, is because she totally stopped serving us (and from what I could see all of her other tables too - it'sa small place). She was engulfed in a discussion behind the bar with someone who I believe was the manager and did not come by to offer us another round of drinks or more food or anything. She walked by to the register but did not serve or acknowledge us at all for an extensive period of time. (I wish I timed it.) I was also disappointed in the manager who also was behind the bar ignoring all of the patrons and also was not very courteous when she brought out some of our dishes. We just experienced our 1st breakfast buffet at Eleven, and found the experience to be disappointing. We were informed that we had a 90 minute window to enjoy our buffet, but were seated 10 minutes after we arrived, and asked to leave 10 minutes before our allotted time expired. Despite good service, certain features were disappointing. No access to some basics like utensils and napkins, no complimentary beverages (a previous benefit) and now a charge of $39/adult (previously $35). While some of the dishes were delicious, an equal number were too dry (tandoori chicken, fish Florentine, French toast, etc.) and cold (when they should have been hot). The offerings were not being refreshed, such that there were limited or no options for some of the breakfast meats (remnants of pork belly, no Portuguese sausage, etc.). The fresh fruit was even a disappointment (flavorless honeydew and cantaloupe, and raspberries with mold). As kama'aina, who are often asked for recommendations for a breakfast buffet, we will have to refrain from suggesting this option. read more

If you enjoy craft drinks, this is the place for you. Right next to Foodland Farms in Ala Moana, it is on the makai side of the store, with an entrance inside the market in the liquor section, and a second outside the market on the driveway side. The drink menu is carefully created and each beverage is made deliberately and with great pride. Presentation is to a high degree, both appearance and delivery is an experience in itself. I enjoyed each craft drink we ordered - we made sure to try different menu items to get the largest range of tastings. But our consensus favorite was the HayDay. Def a must try. The appetizers, while tasty and broad in scope in terms of flavor and texture, were pricey and small. I would mostly enjoy here for its drinks alone. read more

My friend suggested coming here and she described it as a speakeasy, because there isn't much signage. It's an enigma....Kinda like a tapas tasting bar but not really emphasizing wine. The food is crafted like a gastropub but not really much beer selection. It's good if you like whiskey or scotch, 60 types with all kinds of preparations including smoked. It's also not somewhere you go to eat a square meal or if you're on a budget. I had 3 drinks (and didn't really feel it but enjoyed them alot) and tapas, $80 + tip. The average price of a drink or appetizer is $15. And you will have more than 1 of each because you'll want to try every drink and every dish they offer. That's why it's better to go with more than 2 people, although it's intimate and cozy enough for a date. It's very much a connoisseur place, you can tell they create the food to pair nicely with your drinks. Hitting the salty, sweet, bitter and savory notes beautifully. Ambiance is modern and pleasant, not cold and sterile as some photos may depict. Service is top notch. Tim our waiter explained everything and it was like listening to poetry. He made great suggestions. Real cloth napkins and the oversized ice cubes have "11" molded into it. Candles on the table, mesquite smoke lingers in the air from the smoked whiskey they bring to your table under a glass dome. It's about the experience and the pallete. I would come here again, it was fun to have pau Hana drinks with a group. We ordered a bunch of plates to try. Each one including dessert was amazing. Their menu will change periodically. We suggested they have a charcuterie board and Tim said they don't wanna duplicate what the bar has inside Foodland (which has an amazing charcuterie board btw) Three words: Sip Taste Wow. read more

We were looking forward to Eleven for a while - and it is a gorgeous space just built into the Foodland Farms in Ala Moana Center. Service was prompt, friendly, and so smooth from our server Timothy. The drinks were great - from the newly released Hay Day that paired perfectly with the chips, to my wife's Kaka'ako Mule which went well with the popcorn. As an old fashioned fan, their Hay Day was so unique and had an intoxicating scent from the French oak smoke sitting in the glass cloche. The stamped "11" was just class. Dessert overall was good, though the Earl gray popsicle was more of a gelatin (we were expecting more of an ice cream texture given the popsicle description), and the chocolate exterior fell off easily once bitten due to how slippery the gelatin was. It sure looked pretty, and our favorite part was the white chocolate lilikoi cube (the Madeleines were crispy, so you could dig into the cube kinda like a chip!). We'd happily go back again. Classy and comfortable, inventive drinks, and great food with service that kept a smile on our faces. The manager even ran into us later at Foodland Farms and asked us for our input! read more

Drinks - good. Service - lukewarm and a bit strange. A few staff doing nothing and others busy while simple customer service details were missed with ourselves and nearby tables. Food - hit and miss. The Hokkaido Scallops were served cold and needed acid. The cornbread was tabled very late in service and somehow cold as well. The hamachi want very fresh. However, the cured salmon and beef & brioche were quite good. read more
