Bowl of the spicy buffalo chicken wings
Tony U.

Why I'd go back: the wings You HAVE to order: The Wings Tony's Tip: THE WINGS! Okay, this review may be premature, as we literally only had the wings...because that's what EVERYONE orders and we were having a filler meal (mid-afternoon) before a big pasta dinner. But the buffalo wings were perfection. Moist, with a spicy, savory classic sauce that hit the palate just right. We powered through a healthy amount of 20 or so in about 15 minutes. Apart from the wings, the menu is actually huge, and from what we saw of others' orders, the portions were generous, the service abundant, and the prices very affordable (our wings were less than 20 Euro). A must stop if you're visiting Dublin!

Arrived quickly...nice (seeded) bun.

Visited on a fairly busy Sunday evening but were greeted and seated rapidly into the pretty noisy restaurant. I had the Chicken mozzarella sandwich (see photo) which was tasty thanks to the combination of lots of smooth cheese, a fresh bun and chicken cooked to an ideal temp. The fries were nothing special and arrived barely warm. Two items caused a drop from 4 to 3 stars. Our server never came back to check on us... disappointing as she was originally quite friendly. Second, during our visit the restaurant experienced lots of tiny black flies...an issue noticed by tables on both sides. All the above said, we'd include the Elephant & Castle on our list when we're next in the area.

This was one of the cutest restaurants I found in Dublin. The interior was a cute cross between modern and vintage. The paneled walls made the space feel so cozy! The service was very good, and fast compared to most other places we went to in Dublin. The food was great and very fresh! I got a roasted zucchini sandwich and it was great! Would highly recommend!

It looked like a very popular spot so we Stopped by for brunch and it was ok. Inside was spacious with tons of seating. The menu was decent and people were raving about the food there so I was excited to try. I settled for the Irish breakfast which I thought was very mediocre. Nothing very special about it. Price was a little high for the food. Service was ok. We were not very tended to. Kind of given our food and forgotten about.

Superb eatery. Wasn't one I was familiar with and decided to try it on a recommendation. It was quite busy so it was a little tricky getting the order in and there was a slightly longer than desirable wait, but nothing particularly over the top, and besides, the food was well worth the wait. Best chicken wings I've had in a while, great chips and a decent selection of drinks both alcoholic and soft. Great if you are passing and also worth going out of your way for.

Avocado Toast

EVERY. Single. Table. Gets the wings. Every table. I swear. Their wings are small, but piled high. People come in here specially for the wings and it does make sense. They were super crispy and dunked in buffalo. The avocado toast with eggs is also super simple and good. We already said we might stop back in for the wings!

Visited for brunch on a Saturday morning. We got the last table before a long wait which worked out nicely!! Got the cappuccino and eggs florentine which were really good!

Big chicken wing girl - THESE were amazing !

Crispy but perfectly glazed in the sauce - the chicken wings were amazing. For any chicken wing lovers I would 10/10 recommend making a pit stop here. I love how they were prepared for the chicken wing clean up too!

My chicken & roasted vegetables risotto.

We were walking the Temple Bar area and the locations that were still serving food were quickly closing or converting to BAR ONLY so we were grateful to get into the Elephant & Castle. While we did decide to stay, they informed us right away that they had run out of all the burgers except for the fried chicken sandwich. My wife and youngest son decided they would share the wings and the "dirty fries". Both were delicious and popular with the whole group. I had the risotto of the day, which was roasted peppers. It too was very good. My oldest had the Cesar salad which he enjoyed. My daughter was caught off guard with her sliced chicken sandwich. It was labeled having curry mayonnaise but she was surprised how strong the curry flavor was. I tasted it and liked it but she was right, it was NOT a hint but very very potent. Still we all enjoyed our dinner and the boys had their Peroni's. I thought their homemade Gingerale was OK. More like a ginger lemonade than a sparkling drink.

Irish Salmon

Irish Salmon. Can't go wrong especially with fish from here. Pan seared perfectly and portion was very generous. I could not finish it. Although I thought salmon with mash seemed strange, they did kind of go together. Was a tad bit too salty for me though. Service was good and the location at Temple Bar is superb. Great buzz and energy

This might have been the best Irish Breakfast I have ever had! It was so good we came back the next night for dinner and the Wings and Fish and Chips were just as good. I will say the overall the staff was what really shined. As amazing as the food was what we really remember is how friendly and funny all while super attentive. Don't skip this place!

Amazing Buffalo Wings!
Gina V.

Great service and quickly seated in spite of being in the very trendy Temple Bar area! I have to admit that these are in the top two of best wings I've ever had- and I try them everywhere they're on the menu! It was extremely surprising to find such great buffalo wings in Ireland! They were perfectly cooked- crispy on the outside-juicy & tender inside and the sauce was 10/10. To make this deal even sweeter- 20 wings were under 18€! I was shocked because wings in the US have become incredibly expensive. The mussels and frites were great too!

Smoked salmon open faced sandwich
Jenny T.

This was open pretty late. Got the open face salmon special and it didn't disappoint. Good smoked salmon on a soft brown bread with light sauce and slices of avocado. The salad was a bit too onion-y for me but went well with the fish. Loved those caper berries. I also got the homemade ginger ale - it was decent. Glad we stopped in.

Wings to die for & pretty good burgers too. Only downside is you can't book a table but it's worth the wait.

One of the best breakfasts I've had in my life. It was mostly staples (OJ, scrambled eggs, hash, sausage, toast) but done extremely well.

The wings were very good and so was the tagliatelle. Stay for dessert as the crepes and the cheesecake are both excellent.

Beautiful, small place that gets packed very quickly. My husband didn't finish his fritters that have avocado on them bc he's not a fan of avocado. He forgot to ask that they be removed. His fault. Very nice young staff. I wish that we had discovered this restaurant sooner bc we would have eaten breakfast there again but we discovered it on our second to last day.

Food in general in Ireland is very bland.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For my tastes the double baked eggs were overdone, but that's double baked for you. Everything else was so delicious though that I truly didn't even notice. It was a wonderful pile of meat overflowing out of a little skillet with a stack of soda bread and butter. Truly it was a delight. I also ordered up their irish coffee. This was especially fun because it's not a simple shot of whiskey, coffee and cream. They create a brown sugar syrup blended with the whiskey to cook off the alcohol but retain the flavor. I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The sit-in part of Brother Hubbard is bright, relaxing, spacious with plenty of tables inside and there's a patio outside with plenty of tables as well. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent. Brother Hubbard is a gem of a breakfast and pastry spot! I appreciate the relaxing café environment with friendly staff and high-quality food. However, the brunch rush came afterwards and by the time I left, the entire place was filled. It's popular. And yes, it's the same spot Phil Rosenthal ate at. I even saw the owner who was featured on the show here, helping out with clearing tables and so forth. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and an iced chai latte. The food was good and actually, not as heavy as I anticipated. It came with an egg, sausage, bacon, beans and a pudding, which I had to look up. It's ground meat with oats and is molded into a patty. It didn't taste bad, so can see why it's served around these parts of the world. And the meal also came with another item I had to look up, colcannon bread, which was a potato bread with kale.
