My daughter was very active in their store and one of the associates offered her a snack and tried to color with her, was so incredibly helpful. Probably the most knowledgeable salespersons, best customer service, and honest information shared. I came here to get some fixtures for home, and Alan was more than helpful. They also have a huge storage area in the basement so you can reserve your fixtures months in advance before pickup. We made a 1/2 down payment so the price would remain the same or better when we went to pick it up. They will only charge you the current price if you don't make a down payment. So if it goes up, you're at a loss. They have a display area for the bulbs too, so you can see the level of brightness and whiteness/yellowness you're looking for. Their bulbs are all LED's now. They have a wide variety of fixtures and a wide variety of price ranges so it's easy for someone on a budget to find something suitable too. We got lucky and picked out four fixtures (two ceiling fans and two chandeliers) and bulbs prior to prices increasing the following month. When we went back to pick up the fixtures a few months later we saved several hundred dollars by having put 1/2 down. We could not be happier with how everything turned out! Happy shops! read more

Had a good experience here. In and out pretty fast with a purchase. Mom and I went in to find something for my daughter's room. They have very little stuff for kids. We talked to an employee and he said not a lot of people make for kids. I have no idea. They had a cute light that looked like an airplane. They had one that looked like a caterpillar and a third that had flowers and butterflies. We ended up going with the flowers/butterflies. We were extra happy with the price because it was in the clearance area. And we were lucky because they had a new one in stock. We thought we'd get the floor model which was a little chipped and stained. We would have been fine with that but thrilled we didn't have to. The woman who helped us was nice. Once you can get past the overwhelming selection of lights you will realize this is a fine store. Our salesman was honest about what size would be best over our dining room table. Went to Elements the other day. Wanted to choose several pieces as I am decorating my house. The store is beautiful. I walked in and not one person greeted me or asked if I needed help. I walked around the whole store twice. There were 3 or 4 salespeople by the center desk chatting away. They were NOT BUSY at all!! I went home frustrated and upset and called the store manager. I proceeded to tell him I am going to another store the next day where by the way I received excellent service and I would never return to Elements again. Terrible service Buy your lighting and. We bought a few things here. In general there is an air of condescension. Very unfriendly. We had to get chain extensions for some lighting and had to call them weeks after it was supposed to be in in order to find out where it was. Pretty sure they forgot to order it bc then it suddenly arrived one week after we started complaining. Went to pick everything up and staff could care less about us, barely wanted to even talk, basically got the feeling like "pay, take your crap, and gtfo." Couldn't have been less friendly or unprofessional. I would NOT shop here again simply due to the attitude of staff. read more

I went to Elements because I just bought a house and needed to buy some chandeliers. The salesmen Chris was first very friendly and helpful. I purchased four items from him and was planning on eventually buying a chandelier for my dining room. He told me that it would take two weeks to arrive at the store for pick up and they would call me when it arrived. They never called me. After waiting three weeks I called them and they told me it arrived. I went there that evening to pick them up so I can have an electrician hook them for me. A few days later I paid for an electrician to come and when he opened the boxes, one of the chandeliers were broken. I called Elements and they said that the chandelier is no longer being made but I can trade it in for the one that's in the showroom. I asked them if they can take any of the cost off for all my inconvenience. The manager said that he would take off $20. I told him that for all the money that I have already spent and all the time dealing with this issue, $20 is not acceptable. The manager said that is all he will do. I just went back to the store to return the broken chandelier. I saw Chris my original salesmen and told him the story quietly because I thought he was a nice guy and wanted him to know that I was planning to buying more from him and that the manager is really not doing the right thing. After telling him what happened, he was no longer friendly. I do not recommend that you go to this store for your lighting needs. read more

I was here for the first time today. It's for sure the nicest lighting place on the Island and probably the Tri State. They have a HUGE selection of Chandeliers for literally every budget. Also, the salesmen are very helpful and nice. They aren't your typical salesmen either that are annoying and follow you around and nag you. They let you do your thing and look around and shop and if you need help they'll come over. Also, the manager Tim is very nice. In June, 2019, my husband and I renovated our master bathroom and 12 x 26 master bedroom. We selected all our light fixtures and switches from Elements who we had used in the past. We were so pleased with the personal assistance of Laura Passalacqua who devoted her precious time and expertise to help us find exactly what we needed! Because the master bedroom was so large, we needed a lot of lighting that would be tasteful, coordinated and within our budget. Everything looked great, however, 6 months later we had a problem with one of the sconces flashing on and off, then eventually dying altogether. I called Elements who not only offered to replace it immediately, they sent Felipe, a knowledgeable, cordial gentleman to do the work days later. Would you believe the next day the matching sconce went on the blink (literally)? At that point, Elements offered the option of completely replacing both of them for a different design of our choosing if we didn't want to just replace the faulty one. We chose the former, and although we had to wait about 7 weeks because it was a brand new item, it was well worth the wait! It was installed today by Felipe, who came right on time, and was thoughtful enough to call first to say he was on his way. We love them even more than what we had before! We highly recommend Elements with their vast selection, but more importantly, having the calibre of staff that treated us like family! As other reviews have stated, be very careful before doing business with Elements as they do not seem to know enough about the products they sell, and in my case, I was sold LED flush mounts lights for my living room that turned out to be ugly and harsh and sold mostly for closets and hallways due to start blue white light they put out and could not get my money refunded. I only discovered the salesman had sold me the wrong product after my contractor had installed lights. I went back to the store and was told they would not take them back once installed. Bruce, my original salesman had told me the lights were warm and ambient; this turned out not to be correct. i went on his expertise them after showing him pictures of the room and what I needed. I spent a hour with him getting educated on the different temperatures and colors of LED lights. The floor model of the light I was interested in was not connected to electricity, so I could not actually see the product turned on and trusted him to sell me warm ambient lighting appropriate for a living room. Now I am stuck with these ugly lights as the store refused to take them back and refund me to my credit card. Here's the other buyer beware: the store refund policy. according to Bruce, was 30 days. What he didn't tell me at time of purchase was that it was only 7 days for refund to your credit card. After 7 days, it is only for store credit. And once lights are installed, they don't take them back at all. Before purchasing, i had asked Bruce if I could return them if I didn't like them and he abbreviated the return policy to the point of misleading me, The managers are like broken records and recite store policy that you are never fully informed about before buying. Hands down the WORST customer service. (YELP: You guys need to create a ZERO stars option!) My mother had been a customer for almost 10 years, spent over $20k in this store and sent a countless number of people to the store based on her recommendations. She would always tell people that although they are rude, the store has a good selection--so if you can go in with thick skin, you should be fine. Unfortunately, thick skin goes only so deep and from all we dealt with, you would think that we would have been smarter and left Elements a long time ago. I was never a fan of her salesman--he almost always spoke down to us, particularly if we didn't like his suggestions--but he gave her a "discount" (probably an across-the-board discount that doesn't cut into their margin). He would also always complain about his management, blaming them for his not being able to give my mom a better deal. But again, we kept going back. Their post-sale followup is atrocious as well. On two separate occasions, we had purchased something that had to be ordered from overseas. Not ONCE did we get an update on our order--I had to constantly follow up with them. The warehouse employee acted as if she was pissed that I was asking her to find out where our item was. Most recently, we waited for over 3 months for an item that they said would arrive in 3-4 weeks. Whenever I followed up, I was told that it was a shipment issue, that it was sitting in a container at the port, that the manufacturer was lying to them... excuse after excuse. This last incident was what led to our final interaction with these clowns. Long story short, they didn't give a DAMN about keeping us as customers after all those years and money spent. They literally WALKED AWAY from us when I wanted a discount they were offering on "any" item in the store EXCEPT one that was already on sale. ONE ITEM. It didn't matter that we had spent all those years and all that money there. They WALKED AWAY to the back of the store. So, I would recommend that you WALK AWAY from them as fast as you can. The people who work there are MISERABLE and all they care about is their commission. The managers are useless--they walk around pretending to be busy and they talk about each other behind their backs TO THE CUSTOMERS--and they have no real power to do anything to keep their customers happy. Yes, they have a good selection. But is it really worth the headache/stress? We learned the hard way--NO, it is NOT worth the headache/stress. All the other reviews about how you can walk into the store and not have anyone talk to you are right. Unless you tell them straight up that you are there to spend an obscene amount of money, they treat you like shit. If you do end up shopping at Elements, GOOD LUCK. read more

The manager who would give his name as the "only Bill" in the store was beyond unprofessional and had the audacity to tell me I should be thankful that he is taking time out of picking up his daughter to speak with me which was an offer of 10% on a new purchase not for the $12,00 chandelier that his worker with 18 years of experience sold me by telling me it would be the perfect fit for my remodeled living room after I gave him the measurements. And it was three sizes too small once we opened it to see how it would look. He was not welling to accommodate me even for an exchange. He tells me if I don't know what size to get then "I should have hired an interior decorator which is what people do"!! That is why I would never shop this or any other small retail store again!!!! Elements has the largest showroom of light fixtures that I have seen in Long Island. Their selection is quite varied and I found their prices to be competitive. I went to this store several times to look at their fixtures and try to imagine what would fit in my newly renovated apartment. I met several sales people but they didn't seem very motivated to go the extra mile for me. On one of my visits, I was fortunate enough to meet Chris which is why I am giving Elements 5 stars. Chris goes above and beyond to help you. I am very meticulous and detail oriented. Chris took the time to look at my floor plans and listen to my designs ideas. He has a good sense of aesthetics and knows his products well. LED lighting can be quite confusing but he knows just how to explain it to you and help you choose the right lighting for your home. Thanks to his helpful suggestions, I was able to choose light fixtures that are not only stunning but flow nicely through out my apt which is very important when one has an open floor plan. Another great thing about Chris, is that he continues to assist you with your order even after you have finished placing your order and paying for it. Several times I needed for him to send me specs on some of my new sconces to help my contractors set up my walls for them. In addition to emailing me with the specs right away, he gave me a follow-up call to make sure I had received the specs. Like I said, Chris is the reason why I am giving Elements 5 stars. Overall, this store has a massive lighting selection. They have so many products on display, and it can seem a bit overwhelming, but it's definitely better to physically see more items on display than having to sit and look through 90 catalogs. I came here with my interior designer so I was lucky to have her assistance. The store was understaffed and the employees were trying to help everyone but with the amount of people coming into the store, I understood that there was only so much dedicated attention we could receive. However, our sales woman, Laura P. handled it pretty well and did give us as much undivided attention as she could and I appreciated it greatly. I was told the at the time of purchase that the chandelier will be ready in about two weeks since is manufacture in their own factory, but when I called to follow up two weeks later they told me is in back order and won't be available in two months!! from two weeks to two months! no one ever called to update us on the back order status, I would just cancel my order if I knew it was taking so long to get it or I can choose another one instead. Also, when I called to check on the status, a lady who answered the phone told me she would call me back for update info but never did, I need to call again to follow up and the attitude was rude!!!!!!! As I started renovations in June I then went shopping for fixtures for my apt. I picked out four fixtures and asked if they would store them until my renovations were complete. Little did I know my renovations would take four months. Elements was very patient and although I kept getting reminders they kept my fixtures until I was ready. Came here today with my husband looking for a flush mount light fixture for my bedroom. I was told a salesmen would be right with us. when the salesmen came we explained what we needed, he pointed to the area where the flush mount lights are then proceeded to walk away. We had questions about the wattage, we were following him around trying to get answers. He was more concern trying to help another customer spending more money. I then asked to speak with another salesmen who was not at all helpful, actually rude. I had a picture on my cell phone from their website of a fixture I was interested in. He said they didn't have it in the store only online. I had questions about the fixture, he said I didn't have the item number on the picture so he couldn't help me. He could of just went on his website like I did and find the fixture. I guess that would have required to much effort on his part. We left and went to Illuminations in RVC. Unfortunately, I have to say that consumers must be very aware of the limitations of their return policy. After only 7 days, purchases are ONLY eligible for a store credit--so don't buy unless you are absolutely positive you will not need to return a fixture or any other item . My wife and I recently purchased a kitchen mid sized chandelier and some pendants lights and decided to go to Elements for the first time after finding lackluster showrooms in Suffolk.
