Peter Andrews is my all-time favorite China and gift store. Many years ago I started my collection of Portmerion Botanic Garden dishes by buying a few pieces at a time here. Couldn't resist stopping and seeing the new store. The new store opened in May 2025, it's down the block at 444 Hillside Ave. it's in an H Mart shopping plaza with lots of free parking in front. There is so much in this new store from gourmet foods, artistic bags, scarves, and umbrellas. Jewelry, giftware, a Christmas corner and lots of beautiful furniture. There are many empty shelves; it looks like a lot more is to come. My Portmerion dishes are gone. I found pickle ball gifts; I never leave Peter Andrew's empty handed. read more

While the store is lovely lots to choose from . Most on the expensive side . Their policy is only a store credit so you must be 100% sure that you like what you were about to purchase you can exchange but if you don't like what you've purchased, you will only get a store credit.. Buyers Beware. This has been, by far, the worst company I have ever purchased from. Not only does customer service take months to respond, but when they finally do, no one provides legitimate answers or meaningful resolutions. Instead, you'll be constantly strung along. The company appears to care more about protecting its profits than standing behind its products. Don't be misled by the advertised one-year warranty--they did not honor. I purchased what I believed was a beautiful teakwood table after being told it was highly durable and that the only maintenance required would be occasional teak oil. In less than a year, the entire table had begun to rot. When I contacted the company, it took over three months to receive a response. They eventually sent a third-party repair technician out twice. The technician told me the table was defective and that the company should take it back. Despite that, the owner claimed the technician never recommended a replacement and even stated that he had personally spoken with me. That never happened--I have never spoken with the owner. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing from Peter Andrews. I found the company to be unresponsive, unwilling to stand behind its warranty, and more focused on avoiding responsibility than helping its customers. I wish I had read the reviews before making my purchase. My family and friends have bought several items from Peter Andrews over the years, but after this experience, I would strongly encourage others to shop elsewhere. There are many companies that offer better customer service, better support, and stand behind the products they sell. Buyer beware. read more

Unfortunately this location is going out of business. I remember a long time ago it used to be one of the best places to grab gifts and furniture and other homely things people might use. The quality of its items has decayed over the years and it's no wonder why this one failed. Everything is cheaply made and breaks easily. The staff like to say everything is great (even if it isn't) because they want the sale more than a happy customer. I hope their other locations still maintain the higher level of quality of their goods (varies by location) and the higher level of customer service. Happy shops! read more

I ordered a dining room table with six chairs. It's beautiful, good quality and a great price. Initially, I couldn't accept delivery for a month, but when I called back it was immediately scheduled. On delivery day, two of the chairs were wobbly. I called and was promptly rescheduled for an exchange. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and very pleasant. What great customer service! read more

The smaller sibling to the Huntington location. I love Peter Andrews and a few years back when I realized they had a second location conveniently located on my way to work, I was happy. That being said, I have to admit that the Williston Park location doesn't hold a candle to the Huntington location. This location is about 2/3 smaller than Huntington and as such, suffers from the lack of selection Huntington has to offer. You can still score some good stuff but you have to do some heavy duty searching. I won't give up on them but I still find myself trekking over to Huntington more than this location. read more

There is something at PeterAndrews for everybody and great deals$. They carry things you can't find anywhere else. Super eclectic. *Great for gift giving*. They even carry awesome clothes and jewelry amongst cool glassware, art, unique furniture, and a million other things. They even do gift wrap. They are a mom and pop shop that's been there for about 30 years which is really a cool look for Williston Park which in the past year (the street Peter Andrews is on) opened a few awesome new restaurants (fresca crepe place, miyabi, sangria, xarello, bbg's, sweet to lick, vegan bakery, and of course theres always Frantonis, and hildabrants) We must keep these mom and pop shops alive. We don't need anymore mall like chain stores taking over the businesses that give WP a unique vibe and life. read more

PROS: Got some gorgeous glasses for only $5 each, as well as an antique silver corkscrew for only $7. Great items! CONS: The staff acted like we were a bother. I had my son in a stroller, and my mother-in-law was with us using her walker, and when we went into the furniture section, the staff there were visibly annoyed that we expected them to move two feet to the side so we could get by. I'm not terribly sensitive but it was so obvious and palpable that we just left that section. My mother-in-law has impeccable taste and money to spend on decor - it was a stupid mistake on their part. I might return. Got some great stuff but nothing I can't find elsewhere without the attitude. read more

Everytime I go to Long Island I always make sure I stop at this store. They have things I just can't find anywhere else and people always ask me where I got it from! Don't know why it's rated as 4 $$$$, there's a lot of affordable stuff there, and also some really nice things as well. It's all about quality of what your getting. read more

Peter Andrews is a store that's truly one of a kind. My mom has been shopping here ever since they opened. She actually happens to know the owner from the flea market he used to sell at before the store opened. I've gotten various gifts here such as serving platters, vases, chip & dip bowls, scarves, hats... you name it! We have also gotten many things for our home at Peter Andrews. If you really think about it, where exactly does one get gifts like this? BIg box stores don't have the interesting and unique items that Peter Andrews sells. The price point definitely ranges depending on what you're looking for, but I believe you'll find something if you have a certain price point in mind. I would definitely stop by if your'e looking to get someone a gift or if you're looking to get some nice household items for yourself! Also, their other store has awesome furniture! I have been shopping at Peter Andrews for years and I have never been disappointed with a purchase or shopping experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always helping me find exactly what I'm looking for. I highly recommend shopping there for furniture or gifts. Also, they do a beautiful job with gift wrapping, and the boutique in the back has some really cool clothes and accessories. I received a wedding gift from a family member from this store. A cake knife set. It arrived used as this was clearly a returned item that had been sent to me. I got the sense from the woman's reaction that this is not an out of the ordinary complaint for them. Upon trying to call the store to speak with someone about a replacement or refund, I was placed on hold only to be hung up on. Upon calling back, I was basically yelled at because they were trying to close up and the woman who answered was trying to find a manager. I was placed on hold again for a few minutes before I decided to just hang up. Classy! I'm a decades-old shopper of Peter Andrews Williston Park making purchases ranging from big ticket items to small stuff and I'm in the shop on a regular basis. I cannot understand then why the staff is cold and distant and really unfriendly. Today's visit and shopping spree will be my last one there. The attitude of the older women is downright unpleasant and unfriendly and act as if they are doing ME a favor to buy the merchandise. I don't take it personally because I noticed they have the same attitude to other shoppers as well. I'm done supporting a business who have no appreciation of my business. Only accolades about Peter Andrews. Love it's high quality of giftware BUT I am so impressed with the professionalism and problem solving. Sent to our California home stemware. Most unfortunately many glasses arrived broken. Called the store and spoke to Stephanie. Her kindness and prompt reply to this situation was so impressive. I took pics of the broken glass but Stephanie resent immediately the new stemware. I am so impressed with this store and thank Stephanie and staff for their prompt attention and replacement! We ordered a gorgeous teak wood table for our backyard. Although it was a little pricey, the quality is phenomenal. The salesperson in the store seemed very happy to give me the exact thing I wanted (we wanted blue cushions and a blue umbrella, which was no longer available at that location) and called another location to make sure I was getting what I was asking for. They delivered on time and we're very neat and helpful when setting up our new outdoor furniture. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for nice patio furniture. This was always my favorite store. Beautiful things, wonderful staff. I recently had a wonderful experience with the owner Patty and her staff. My husband and I started a charity to help families here on Long Island & I went to the store to see if they could give us a gift certificate for our raffles. I not only had a lovely conversation with Patty but she sent me off with a beautiful piece to raffle off!! This place is horrible!! Overpriced and complete snobs!! I ordered a dining room table and six chairs from them. When it came in it was the wrong table completely!! When purchasing the table I only asked two questions: "How many leafs come with the table so I can extend it and how big are the leafs?" She told me there were 2 leafs. On that assumption I ordered the table and when the wrong one came I immediately sent it back. I went to the store and simply said that I wanted the table that I was promised. They said that the shape I ordered does not come with 2 leafs. So I simply said that since it was not the table that my wife had wanted to just refund my money and I'll find something else. They refused!! Their salesperson misinformed me and they actually refused!!!! I spoke to everyone in that company from bottom to top!! Every person that I spoke to was ruder and more snobbish than the one before. I have been a sales manager for a long time and this is no way to do business. They offered me other tables in different styles of course, but that was not what my wife wanted!! I would give them zero stars if I could!! Never shop here!! read more

Peter Andrews wasted 6 months of my life, tons of time and energy, and never took responsibility for 6 months worth of mistakes that they made. I picked out a desk (it was a supposed to be a sweet housewarming gift to me from my grandmother) in April 2011. It is now nearly October 2011, and I still do not have the desk in my possession. It was paid in full and ordered for me, so I suppose Peter Andrews is the type of store that just does not care at all about their customer service once the deal is sealed and they have their money. Here's the sordid story: They inverted the numbers on the original invoice when they placed a special order for me. When I came to pick up the desk, I checked the numbers on the box against my invoice. They matched. A man helped me load the box into my car, and a piece of paper was shoved at me and I was told to sign it quickly--this AFTER the box was already in my car. When I got home, I opened the box and realized they had ordered the wrong desk. I called immediately and was told that they had the correct desk in the store and that I would have to come BACK to pick it up. I requested that they give me a free delivery for my trouble, and the woman I spoke to, the store manager Nina, told me this would not be possible. I asked her to please see what she could do, and she told me she would call me back on Monday (it was a Saturday). I never got a call back from her for two weeks and finally called the store back myself. I was informed at that point that they had placed a new order for the correct desk. I was so confused and a little bit shocked, as no one informed me of this and I had previously been told that the desk was IN THE STORE!! They told me they would call me when it came in. I never heard from them for over a month, and called today (9/24/11), to check in about when the desk would be there. I was informed that it had arrived!! No one called me and told me this!! I asked again about the free delivery, and was met with more resistance. For a store that pretends to care about customer satisfaction, it is incomprehensible to me that they refuse to take responsibility for their numerous mistakes and failure to follow up. I live in Manhattan and don't even have a car, so it is quite difficult for me to get to the store to pick things up and they have even asked me to bring the original desk that was THE WRONG DESK back to them. They can not even take responsibility for picking up the desk themselves that they incorrectly ordered. I have been continuously appalled throughout this process, but when I called today and found out that no one had even let me know the correct desk came in to the store, I felt as though I finally had to share my experiences with others. Peter Andrews is awful to deal with and the saddest part is that my grandmother hasn't even had the joy of being able to see the desk set up and looking great in my apartment. This was something wonderful she wanted to do for me, and the store has made what should be a great experience a horrible nightmare. Went in to purchase an anniversary gift for our children. Found a Nambe cheese board marked $200 less 20% and paid $160. After getting home did a search and found that every other store was selling it for $100! Went back the next day and the explanation was that they had a problem with some products that had the wrong price marked on them. They raise the price and offer a discount to make you think that you are getting a great deal. They did honor the lower price after I returned to the store. read more

Came across Peter Andrews recently because it was recommended by a friend. I have to say, it was a great experience and I'm so happy I found this place! It feels like you're walking through a store of unique treasures that you really can't find anywhere else. Not to mention the staff is so helpful and lovely. I think it's family run which is a huge plus for me, I'd much rather give my money to a local, family run business over a corporate spot. I have shopped at Peter Andrews for years. It has been one of my favorite 'go to' stores. Unfortunately, I recently purchased a sink there. After one cleaning, the finish on the sink came off. After contacting customer service and sending pictures, I was told that they would replace the sink. Unfortunately, I was also told that that is literally all they would do: Pick up the damaged sink and drop off the replacement. I would have to pay for a contractor to remove the damaged sink, install the new sink and replace the damaged tile(assuming I could even match the tile). When I explained that I found this to be unfair and burdensome to me given that the damage was not my fault, they would not budge in their position. When I asked for a refund, they said they would only do that after I had returned the sink. This is obviously not possible without doing the above which would cost hundreds of dollars which I cannot afford and should not have to pay. They should have properly informed the buyer(me) about how to care for the sink prior to me purchasing it. Shame on them!!! So disappointed and angry. read more
