White House Home is one of those locally owned businesses you want to stay in business because of the personal touches, quality service, and small town charm. The store is essentially a boutique selling a variety of imported products: lotions, candles, glassware, porcelain, and even some packaged foods (cookies and chocolates, for instance). You'll find few of these products at another store nearby, which makes the selection pretty unique. Most recently I came here for a Mother's Day gift and had plenty to choose from. The employee working in the store that day took time to answer my questions and offer some product recommendations. The prices here are perhaps a little steeper than you might find at a large retailer, but it's that personal touch and eclectic selection of luxury goods that make it worth the price jump. Upon deciding on something to buy, the employee took time to carefully wrap the purchase in a gift bag, even removing the price sticker since I mentioned it was a gift. The store is located in a small cottage, so looking in from the outside it might appear to offer just a few choices, but the store is really packed with options, so there's a lot to choose from. For the small town charm, personalized service and unique offerings, I'm a fan. It doesn't necessarily have anything, but it's the perfect place to go if you need a special gift or are looking for something different.

Again, if you're a services company like us, please make sure you are paid in full for the work upfront. We do not want you to fall into the same trap we did.

Chloe was wonderful to work with, she was patient with us and attentive to every detail on the dress during each fitting. She continued to take photos, so that we could see the changes made. Additional fittings were scheduled so that my daughter's dress fit perfectly. An appointment was even scheduled on Sunday to meet the seamstress, and to go over any needed adjustments. At one of the final fittings, Chloe suggested a seam be placed at the waist of the dress in the back, so it would fit even better, lace had to be removed and replaced on top of the seam, this was a big job for the seamstress, especially so close to the wedding day! Chloe assured me the dress would be perfect and it was. Chloe even had the dress re-steamed, when she noticed some minor wrinkles. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!! My daughter went into this store to purchase a few items using her…read moredebit card. The owner attempted to run her debit card three separate times. After the first attempt, my daughter called me to ask if it was okay because the owner, who had difficulty communicating in English, wanted to run the card again. When I entered the store, instead of explaining what was happening, the owner became defensive, rude, and disrespectful. Even worse, he blamed my daughter after attempting to run her debit card a second and third time without clearly obtaining her approval. This experience was completely unacceptable. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and should never feel pressured or blamed when there is an issue processing a payment. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere and being cautious if you choose to do business here. I will also be filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs regarding this incident.
