My husband & I came here to purchase gifts for our bridal party the week of the wedding. We wanted to purchase Brumates, but there was not enough in store to cover our entire bridal party. The store manager assured us that she was able to order the entire amount within 2 days from the Roosevelt field mall location for pickup in Huntington. We received all of our orders in a timely manner and they looked wonderful!! We were thrilled with our experience there as customers and the rapport she established with us, and as a result, we also ended up purchasing our own Brumates, our wedding card box & a watch, all in which she engraved within minutes! She was very accommodating, understanding and kind. We would definitely recommend using this location & specifically requesting assistance from the store manager. Christmas eve, drop in real quick to buy a beauty and the beast snow globe. They tell me they can't sell me it because it's a display. It's Christmas eve.... what a stupid decision. It's not like I don't already have 10 gifts for my wife. But the fact that they wouldn't sell it to me on Xmas eve is rediculous. Good job never getting my business again. read more

I've used their services many times around the holidays and I actually recall it being better during those times than non-holidays. I went in a little while ago to get a frame engraved for one of my close friends graduating from college. The associate on the floor was very helpful and down to earth but the guy doing the engraving was a real douche. He gave an attitude and was extremely unorganized. Behind the desk was a MESS! There was even someone elses order placed on the counter waiting to be picked up when I could have easily put it in my shopping bag and walked away with it. They could really get a better system going..... When I finally got the order in he said it would take about an hour. I hung around the mall for an hour and came back to find that he didn't get to my order yet. He asked if I could wait another 15 minutes. 15 minutes turned into a half an hour. If i hadn't stayed right by the counter I'm sure he wouldnt have gotten to my order for a while. Good thing I did too because he almost spelled the engravings wrong. I made sure to watch him as he typed it on the computer. Seemed like he was using one of the three machines for every order.... not sure if the other machines were broken or not but i'm sure that was a big problem. I normally don't take the time to write reviews but this one takes the cake & is worth my time. I purchased an engraved item from this Walt Whitman location. My husband picked it up & when he brought it home I realized the name was misspelled. I spoke with the store manager, Melissa who acknowledged their mistake & instructed me that the item will be re-done & can be picked up at the Smith Haven location due to them no longer having the item in stock. I have the voicemail still on my phone with her instructions to do so. Okay - didn't want to have to go to Smith Haven but mistakes happen soooooo I went to the Smith Haven location & they had NO clue what I was talking about .. they didn't even have the item in stock nonetheless engraved so I could on my way. They reached out to Melissa who said she will contact me - she never did. A week later, I called the Walt Whitman location because still no word from Melissa & I wanted a refund at this point; I was told over the phone I would be allowed to return it. When I went back to the Walt Whitman location - for the third time now; they told me they couldn't return it because it was engraved. What ?!?? They called Melissa who wasnt present (of course) & the associate explained the whole situation & she (Melissa) told her that it could not be returned .. that they can engrave a new one - what ?!?! So you are telling me I would have to come back to a Things Remembered location for 5th time between my husband & I to pick up this new engraved item AFTER you sent me to another location that was 30 minutes from my house & my item wasn't there ?!?! Also for a mistake that YOU or one of your associates made. No ! Absolutely not. She told me I could call customer service -_- Where is the customer service here ? I bought my item from YOUR store & you want me to call customer service ?!?! Melissa you really should find a new place of employment because clearly retail & customer service is NOT for you. On a brighter note, I called customer service & spoke with the supervisor, Shelly who was more than understanding. She issued me a FULL refund AND had my item engraved CORRECTLY & sent to my house. Melissa please take notes. I generally am pleased with my service at Things Remembered but PLEASE do not waste your time at the Walt Whitman location. Wow, I'm so impressed with the service at this location. I came to pick up my party favors today and Carol & Brett were both is kind and welcoming. Brett even help me wheeled out the 3 boxes! Oh my goodness, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Now that I have such a big rewards to use, I'll definitely come back to this location even though it's more than an hour drive but so worth it!!! read more

I just want to say that I had the best experience at Things Remembered in Walt Whitman Mall today. The staff was friendly, exceptionally accommodating (and I can be a PITA), and helpful. It's such a hard day for people who work on retail. To remain smiling and still provide exceptional service, when most employees are tired from Thanksgiving and working insanely long hours today is SO rare. I haven't had an experience like that at WWM in years. I'll definitely be back. If you're looking for a personalized gift and to be treated kindly, this is the store to go to. read more

I went in to purchase some gifts for a few good clients. Carol, the store manager, was so helpful. She spent time with me helping to choose the perfect items. very unprofessional & caused me much inconvience this holiday. my staff and i purchased an engraved mug and a money clip for the doctors we work for as a holidy gift. went to the store to go pick up the items because i received an email stating they were ready. went to the store, the doors were locked with a note in permanent marker stating "be back in 5 minutes." the sales clerk returned back from her "smoking" break, she did greet me but the next issue was when we got to the counter after she found my items. she takes the mug out of the bag, not in any box or anything, shows it to me. the mug had scratches all over it where the name was engraved. i was in complete shock that they would even think it was acceptable to give a mug like that to a paying customer. i'm sure they saw the scratches on it before it was placed in the bag. next i looked at the money clip to make sure nothing was wrong with it, but of course the symbol was engraved upside down. i was just aggravated at this point. not only an issue with one item but both? the sales clerk seemed to be in as much shock as i was and stated she can redue the mug but unfortunately they had none left in stock. she stated she was going to fax over a new order to corporate & state i need it no later than the following week. of course that following week i never received anything as promised. mind you, we needed these gifts for our christmas party that week. i called corporate up, first phone call i was on hold for about 20 mins & i got disconnected after explaining all the issues and rerouted to another associate. i had to re-explain the whole thing over again. she told me she would ship another one to me but i wouldn't receive it till later that week, she never offered to overnight it or anything. not even a discount for the inconvenience. i had to ask her for the discount. she told me she would give a 20% discount and would receive it in about 3-5 days. so then i received the two items, days later. the mug still was not in a box, scratched again in a manilla envelope. even more annoyed, i called the store to explain the new issue, they stated they would overnight a new one. guess what?! never received a mug even 3 days later and no refund was ever issued. today i called corporate again to complain & let them know we will never do business with them again! read more
