Steer Clear of this company! Descent service but overpriced for descent. My biggest problem was their horrible customer service. I called on three separate occasions and told them I was stopping service when my house sold - 6 weeks, 4 weeks, and 2 weeks prior to end of service. They serviced my house anyway after I moved out and are charging me over $300 dollars saying I hadn't properly notified them. Bad communication problems within their company and shoddy business practices. This is the only bill I have refused to pay in my life and they turned it over to collections. Im not a customer but wanted to show an example of there carelessness. I was pulling out of my street on pleasant valley and I guess since it took me a sec to get up to speed the driver of one of the company vehicles chose to speed up and ride my tail so close I could barely see the hood of the truck they were driving. Unfortunately I had to slow down to make a u-turn which must have really angered the driver since he got even closer instead of giving me some room. And of course to top it off he did the old swerve around me and aggressively speed up as I'm turning. I can see from many of the reviews that they have a common theme of not caring about their surroundings. Good luck if they work on your lawn. read more

Like other users Terry was very nice and knows his plants. Problem is the workers they hire do bad work and are in and out as quick as they can be. I've tried sending texts, emailing, calling Clark the supervisor but no return phone calls. I had just re-planted my shrubs from the winter storm and now I have 8 dead bushes after the irrigation was supposed to be fixed. Additionally, I had them work on a fountain and Terry promised he get it fixed to the tune of $1400, saying it would fill automatically. They did the work, and it still doesn't auto fill it work correctly and they tried to change order $300 more dollars for nothing I changed or asked for! Ive been using Elements Lawn care for a year or so for bi weekly lawn mowing and maintenance and special projects. I paid for full service which is suppsed to include weeding and shrub trimming. They entered my info incorrectly and I didnt get full treatment for several weeks. I wanted a walkway added from the front driveway around the side of the house to the back porch which was very pricey and turned out much wider than I expected. The woman, Hope, did the bid incorrectly and didnt include enough stepping stones and ended up costing me several hundred dollars more than my original bid, but the project did turn out good. Last week I sent Hope an email with pictures and asked for some mulching and flowers planted. In 3 small beds. She sent me back a bid for 40 bags of mulch and 11.5 man hours and a $2000.00 bid. I almost passed out!!! No way did I need that much mulch or that many man hours. Its a maybe 2-3 hour job to lay some mulch and plant some flowers. I reworked the bid and sent it back to her. She replied that they were a premium company and used premium products and stand by their bid. She never addressed the overages of mulch and manpower. Three strikes and you are out in my book. I sent her an email to cancel my account completely. So unless you are a premium customer with unlimited funds and dont mind lots of mistakes, I'd look elsewhere for lawn services. read more

Astoundingly terrible communication. Truly I am in awe. I tried to get answers from them for weeks, emailing Hope, primarily, with absolutely nothing to show for it each time I followed up. I finally called and spoke with someone who said they would get back to me in 10 minutes with some information about my account, my services, and my requests for further work, and of course I never heard from him. No one could give me a summary of what I was paying for, and I only ever saw the crew 3 times despite paying hundreds of dollars for the "service". When I finally asked them to cancel my service and send me any remaining invoices, I got invoices I had already paid sent to me again, with absolutely no explanation as to why, or if I still owed money. All of this was particularly hilarious because they asked me to sign a contract for a year's worth of service up front. Good lord, stay away from this company. And before you reply Craig that you'd be happy to have someone come out, no. You cannot expect your customers to want to schedule a meeting with you if your business office can't even be bothered to answer their email or return phone calls. read more

I was very pleased with Marshall. He laid out a great design and exceeded expectations. I had new sod and an upgraded edging and gravel installed. They showed up on time brought quality products and finished ahead of schedule and cleaned up after themselves. After reading various Elements Lawn Care reviews, I see that I am not the first to write an unsatisfactory opinion of this lawn care. I am not a customer, but my neighbors are. Elements decided because they were unable to get to my neighbor's yard by their driveway, they could take their riding mower through my landscaping at which time they proceeded to damage my stone landscaping AND a break a light in my landscaping. My lawn man saw them doing this and he told them not to, which they proceeded anyway and defied him. And if that wasn't bad enough, this was the SECOND time they've done this to my lawn. I drove in my driveway just as this incident happened. What they didn't know was that I have cameras and observed that it took them 10 minutes to get the riding lawnmower off my stone landscaping (which Mr. Bush assured me that someone would be by to repair and I never saw another crew). Again!!! Hello! Cameras. He told me his employees would be dealt with...but I really doubt it since this is the second time this has happened. I called my landscape lighting company who proceeded to repair the lighting the following day. This damage was done on a Friday, so the lighting was repaired on Monday and I was invoiced that evening and proceeded to forward these charges to Elements that Tuesday. It has been a week and I have learned that payment for repairs has not been made. I have received 3 reminders from the lighting company for reimbursement. The emailed response I received from Mr. Bush is that it has been sent to accounting and that it'll be dealt with in due time. They are not prompt with paying for their mistakes and I do not believe they care about customer service even though they apologize. Their customer service shows that their apologies are empty. I would not recommend Elements to anyone. They'll double your rate and automatically start withdrawing from your bank account without any agreement. Then when you cancel and refuse payment they send to credit bureau. Have tried numerous times to resolve, but get no response from elements or collection company!!! read more

Decided to wait several months after signing up for Elements landscaping and yard service to ensure that the positive results was not just a first month's experience. We've now had them for about 6 months and I'm happier now than I was when I first signed up. We've had some 'yard emergencies' that allowed us to see the true value of their single pricing/full service model. Elements Group gives you essentially a maintenance contract for your yard that can include automatic sprinkler maintenance, outdoor lighting maintenance, etc. We signed up for the yard maintenance and irrigation maintenance program. With the additional services it was just a little above the price that we paid for a regular gardener service. Here's the good news, they really DO take care of the overall maintenance. We started to notice a section of the yard dying off in the late summer. Didn't think much of it until we saw the Elements Sprinkler truck outside of our house. The yard crew had noticed the area and had called the sprinkler crew out to check the system! No intervention necessary from us. They made the sprinkler adjustments and things were back to normal. We have ivy growing on the side of our limestone house that is beautiful but can be a problem if it gets into the eaves and windows. They keep the house ivy trimmed and even refill the water bowl for our dogs after they blow the yard. We've been very happy. Even after the honeymoon period the service is as good as it was the first day. read more

Could NOT have chosen a better Landscape Company and Designer! We recently moved to an older home, which had been completely updated on the inside, however not at all on the outside. SO, we knew we had to make some drastic improvements and we wanted that Mid-Century Modern look. We reached out to a few landscape companies and was actually amazed at how they just didn't listen to what we wanted nor our vision......WELL that did NOT apply to Elements Group. They hit the mark from the very beginning on all aspects. Being a Business Owner myself, Customer Service and open communication is huge. Kole and Greg were amazing to work with, complete communication, answering all my questions quickly and always kept me informed of what was going on. Have even stopped by on a few occasions to make sure everything is good and that we understood when to cut back on the heavy watering. Which if you don't know is a pretty big deal in Austin! DO NOT USE! This company is terrible! They are overpriced, non- responsive and unprofessional. They charged me $300 a month for twice monthly grass cutting and not knowing any better I paid this. After getting totally fed up with them I recently received two quotes from other companies who quoted me $100 a month for two visits. I paid Elements $300 a month for many months. During this time, they continually would not show up on their appointment days, and I would have to send many calls and text messages just to get them to come. We couldn't take it anymore and finally decided to cancel services this month after paying the $300 monthly fee. They did not show up for our last service even after speaking to someone who said they would be there same day. I have thus far called, text messaged, and emailed them and have gotten no response. To be clear this is AFTER they told me they would continue working through the virus. In addition, they quoted me $2000 to trim our trees and I had someone come out and do it for a few hundred dollars. In summary this company only cares about money and not their customers. Nothing about Elements has been good since they took over Jacobson Lawnworks. They have been difficult to reach, inconsistent in mowing days, and have knocked my downspouts off more than once and left them laying in the yard. The mowing crew drives like race car drivers, it is difficult to get anything trimmed and I seldom see them edging my lawn and it's noticeable. I kept them on but have now contacted other companies and individuals to take care of my lawn. Enough is enough. read more

I would strongly advise AGAINST contracting with Elements Landscaping in Austin. After buying our house, We signed a contract with Elements at the end of January for service, because we wanted our property maintained until we moved in March, and beyond. When we arrived the 3rd week of March, we came home to what is pictured below. When we contacted Elements to discuss the terrible appearance of the yard, they did not acknowledge their failure to mow the grass and weeds, but they did immediately provide a quote for additional services. We might have considered the upgraded service, if they had even committed to coming out to mow this terrible mess. Clearly, it looks like they were not maintaining it while we were out of town. Moreover, the VP of Sales and Operations (Sean) said that the problem was US and that WE did not contract them for the proper service. Further, he stood by $300 in charges for less than 2 months of service that provided a yard that looks like a mess. And what's worse? When we canceled on 3/24, they sent invoices that day, backdated to 2/1, due 3/2. Totally shady and unethical. No accountability and terrible customer service are not the mark of a good business but are the mark of an experience with Elements Landscaping. read more

They also would swing into my yard carelessly when cutting between homes creating a mess, not to mention swerving behind my car and landscaping lights!!!!! I have to say I have seen them before using my yard to cross over to neighbors home but today it was just taken too far. I used JACOBSON LAWNMOWING for many years and then ELEMENTS took over. Shaun is spectacular and graciously understood what we needed done on such a short notice and really pulled through for us. He had his account manager Jose out within a few hours who was able to call me to discuss exactly what we needed done along with the estimate the same evening. This was not an easy job especially in the time frame we needed it to be completed. Shaun and his team were able to make it happen. This was our first experience with Elements and it was above and beyond a positive one. Had high hopes for this company! Terry came out and really knew what he was talking about. We left the first meeting and felt confident I would be going with them. After 2 scheduled times (I kept getting the notifications he was pushing his calendar back and back) to measure, I finally called him and asked what was going on. He let me know that I would be receiving a quote or description by end of the week. I assumed this to be 5/2. Received nothing. I called him again on 5/5 to ask what was going on, and was told 'he was planning on coming by today!' Assuming this was only to keep the conversation going. Unfortunately, through this poor communication - I have asked him to cancel moving forward. I am a cash in hand customer ready to move forward on an entire backyard project! I understand the storm has hit everyone hard and business is good. What I can't understand is communication that either doesn't exist or is false. Avoid at all costs. My neighbor hired Elements Group to mow their lawn. During the process of mowing my neighbor's lawn, one of their employees smashed into the side of my house with a lawn mower, which busted a hardi plank. Luckily I was home at the time, and I heard and felt it happen. When I went outside, the employee was moving quickly down the sidewalk away from my house. I feel sure that if I hadn't been home he would have just left. I called him back to my yard, and he grudgingly agreed that he'd damaged my house. His supervisor, Jacob Anderson, met me at my home and acknowledged the damage was the fault of his company. He agreed to pay for the damages, and I had him sign a document stating that fact. Since that time, which was almost 3 months ago, I've heard from the company exactly once, and they stated they intend to pay for the damages they caused. And now, my emails are met with silence. It looks like I'm going to have to file suit in small claims court to get this company to pay for damages they caused to my home while mowing my NEIGHBOR'S lawn. Not even my lawn. My neighbor's. We recently built a new home with a sloping backyard that overlooks the hill country. We sought professional expertise in designing and constructing a backyard that would provide our family with a hill country oasis. The Elements Group designed every aspect including retaining wall, french drainage system, irrigation system, granite / boulder walking path, lower level patio, landscaping (turf, flowers, plants, trees) and a washer pit! From the beginning, their team led by Greg Kidwell and Kole Kuklewski, listened to our vision and made recommendations based on our desired end result coupled with their knowledge and expertise. Once construction began, the Elements Group team was onsite everyday for 3 weeks until all aspects of the project were completed. The crews were professional, timely and experts of their trades. Our project was completed on time and on budget. The end result is nothing short of spectacular and we are very proud of our hill country oasis. Have been using Elements Group since 2013 at the recommendation of a neighbor at our prior home and have been nothing but pleased. Our property managers have always been easy to get a hold of with any concerns or questions that we may have. We've used them for a variety of things, including routine lawn/irrigation maintenance, mulch, plant additions, aeration/compost, tree trimming, gravel/river rock, drainage system install/repair as well as landscape lighting. Given what other friends of ours pay for other landscape services, Elements pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the work. Definitely would recommend those that are considering a new landscape company. read more

I've used Elements for a couple different projects in our large yard in the last few years. They have a great team and crew and have been glad to help me refresh elements of the yard without a complete redo. They do get busy though and it helps that I'm patient. I understand how some customers want a quicker response but the current climate for yard work in Austin is pretty hectic. Not a fan. I paid $3800 for a refresh of my front yard flower bed landscaping. Instead of digging up the existing, undesirable plants they just cut them down and planted new plants next to them. Now the existing plants have grown back bigger than before, overtaken the new plants, and it's just a total mess. It looks worse than when they started. They tried to sell me a maintenance contract to come take care of what I'd already paid them to do. Elements doesn't seem to know much about how plants grow or about landscape design to begin with. They are actually just a glorified lawn maintenance company and probably do a great job mowing your lawn. But landscape design and installation? Not so much. There are plenty of other landscapers to hire. Now I'm stuck paying twice for what should have been a simple project. Don't make my mistake. read more
