A neighbor recommended Smart Earth Sprinklers. I called and made an appointment to get my system checked out. They were nice and it was quick and easy. I got a few texts and emails confirming the appointment and Eric showed up exactly on time. He looked over my system and ran it. He determined that several heads were cracked, leaking or just needed replacement. He gave me the price and went ahead and replaced all the heads that needed it. Sprinker systems should be checked regularly. The heads get wrecked and you can waste a lot of water if you don't pay attention. My technician, Justin, was professional, knowledgeable, and did excellent work. He was patient as well taking the time to explain each step and ensure I knew what was going into the repair process. My sprinkler system was a mess so I needed help. I received an immediate response for an available appointment a couple days out. Justin came to the rescue and provided good communication until he arrived so I knew when to expect him. After performing an initial inspection he explained the problem and the most effective solution which involved replacement of valves. He worked with me to provide the most cost-effective solution and was able to deliver this solution in just over an hour. Do not use this company. A tech was sent who did shoddy work and couldn't answer questions without calling a supervisor. $95 for nothing and told to call a plumber. Sprinklers preciously working fine are still not operating. No attempt by tech to even find the heads to check them. I had to do show him where the heads of sprinklers are. Follow up: Gabriel is misrepresenting his response immediately after the service call and again today when he finally returned my call after the yelp review. When 3 of my zones didn't work at all and one sprinkler head shot straight up in the air, I knew I'd better get my system repaired quickly. One of my good friends recommended Smart Earth Sprinklers to me (said it was his go-to company for irrigation repair). I was able to schedule an appointment with them for about a week later. Tom came out, diagnosed the issue right away with the non-working zones, and after installing a new controller box, all was working again. He fixed the errant sprinkler head, but didn't have time to do the additional work I requested - which was to switch out all the sprinkler heads that would no longer recede into the ground. Great service from when we mutually reached through when they came on-site to fix our sprinkler system. Extremely through during the walk-through/inspection, and they focused on where things could be tweaked/tuned vs. where we might have to completely replace things. I had reached out today to this company to see if they could repair one of my house's exterior irrigation lines that has a crack in the joint. Currently, I have the water shut off at the irrigation backflow prevention due to the leak. I was told that they have a service charge of $100+ just to come out and do a full sprinkler/system check, and this wouldn't be put towards the repair cost. I tried to explain that I had already dug up and visually observed where the leak was and wouldn't need a full system test, only the repair; but that was denied. Unfortunately this company's logic doesn't make sense, as my sprinklers are down currently due to the above described crack in a joint. I don't understand how you can agree to pay for a full sprinkler/system check before quoting the repair, as no water runs to the sprinklers because of the repair needed. Essentially my hands would be tied to their price of the repair quoted, or I would be out $100+ just for the service charge to tell me I have a crack in a joint that needs to be fixed, that has already been identified. Can't recommend any business with practices like this. I have 2 other local sprinkler companies coming out to quote the repair now. read more

I had my fence replaced, and ended up with a broken pipe. Knowing that I had to have my system serviced, I contacted another company that I have used in the past. They were booked out over 4 weeks. Reluctantly I made the appointment and asked for them to call me if anything came up sooner. (Which they did, but it didn't work out). On my way to work one day, sitting at a stoplight, there was a Smart Earth van in front of me. I checked out their reviews on YELP and saw that they had 5 stars from over 100 customers - which made me decide to call to see if I could get in sooner. Gabriel called me the same day and was able to get me on the schedule within 2 weeks. Justin called to say he was running late, which I appreciated, and didn't mind at all. I know this is one of the busiest season for a company like this. He apologized when he arrived (which was less that 15 minutes later than my appointment - which is not bad for a Friday afternoon with traffic). He serviced my system, fixed the broken pipe, and kept me informed and answered all of my questions. Even when I was talking to him about one area that I was concerned with (if had underground drip lines) he explained to me what it would take to replace them, the time and the costs. However you found time within a few hours to write a lengthy apology with a long winded excuse. These are strange times and everyone is having to deal with this. Some better than others. A couple of weeks ago I discovered a gusher at the base of my live oak. Even though he was swamped, Gabriet came out the next day, found the cause of the leak, and determined that he couldn't reach the crushed pipe because it was under my mature live oak. I had a couple of zones that were not functioning properly. Took about 30 minutes to locate all the valves, two of which were bad. Incredible Service! I recently reached out to Smart Earth Sprinklers to set an appointment time for them to assess why my sprinkler system was not working and why I was getting error messages on my controller. My sprinkler system was not originally installed by them as the previous homeowners had used another company. However, when I called to schedule, they were not hesitant at all to help even though the original system was not theirs. To be honest, the system had not been working for about two years so I was expecting a considerable charge due to whatever the problem was. The technicians that came out (Tom and Tony) were punctual that morning and were there for the scheduled time slot. They were fantastic in explaining what they were checking for in diagnosing the problem. After awhile, they said that it would be the controller and gave me a price for replacement. After installation of new controller, they walked all the zones with me and helped adjust sprinkler heads and ensure all was in working order. They then showed me how to run a manual cycle on the system which I did that evening. Unfortunately, I got an error for one of my zones that evening. So I messaged Gabriel and he responded instantly saying that he would reach out the following day. He did so and came by to quickly diagnose the situation of which we had to replace a valve. He did so quickly and even replaced a sprinkler head that had popped off as we were testing the zone to make sure it worked. Like many other Austinites, we discovered our backflow valve was leaking after the freeze. We called a number of places, but they were either scheduled out for a month, or didn't have the part, or were interested in making a quick buck with ridiculously high rates. Smart Earth Sprinklers were able to come out in a couple of days, quoted a fair rate over the phone. They replaced the valve, inspected it, and ran the sprinkler system to check the heads. They were not pushy at all when I said I'd replace the heads myself. They continued the inspection and flagged the bad heads. They had a minor issue when they got some of the purple plastic glue primer on the wall. They apologized immediately, and made things right; they came back within an hour with solution and sandpaper and scrubbed the primer off the wall. Overall, a really good experience. Tony checked the system and identified trouble areas (broken pipes, clogged or broken heads) its , ironically, probably the first sprinkler technician that was visibly dirty while identifying the problem (broken pipe required digging in mud), but he was focused and still smiling :). He checked the system and fixed everything, for what I believe was a very fair price, given the volume of work on the property. They are insured and work comes with one year warranty.
