I should've left this five star review long ago! Prior to seeing Bill, I had been doing some Rolfing massage where I live in Las Vegas, but I wasn't able to keep up with them since I work in Los Angeles most of the time. I've had a bulging/herniated disc since I was 14 (I am 34 now. and have had all sorts of pain from that along with different sports injuries. I also drive A LOT, which does not help at all. Typically I'm driving about 20 to 30 hours a week. After the first session of the 10 series, I noticed a huge difference, and I could not believe how open my chest an upper body felt. I had no idea I had been that type of chop as I have always felt the pain in my lower back, hips, and hamstrings. Each session I felt better and better and I got my friend hooked on him as well. We both rave about his treatments and can't recommend him enough! I know the price seems scary, and the idea of committing to 10 sessions at that price in this economy can be really daunting, but if you love your body, and can make it work financially, it is absolutely worth it! I've gone to all sorts of bodyworkers over the years And Bill is one of the best! He is certainly the best I found in the Los Angeles area. The cost of not going for me would have been MUCH higher. It's worth mentioning that his setup is incredibly relaxing whether indoors or outdoors. I have now completed my 6th of 10 sessions with Bill doing the Rolfing Ten Series. From the very first session I felt immediate effects. My body became more buoyant, lighter, and much more easy to move. I've accrued various injuries from sports, lifting, and life thus far and with Bill's expertise he's brought deep and lasting relief and openness to areas I was simply unable to open on my own. In dealing with grieving, depression, and anxiety associated with the pandemic along with concave chest cavity posture due to little movement working from home hunched over a computer, my spiritual advisor suggested Rolfing which works on the fascia and musculature system versus chiropractic alignment associated with the skeletal lever system in a paradigm shift. Sessions were super easy to set up as Bill promptly followed up to my initial voicemail and the 10 series has thoroughly improved my chest cavity openness so I can breathe more deeply and easier, tweaked my head neck tension from years carrying a heavy work bag on the right shoulder, and shifted a left shoulder dislocation from trampolining as a kid. Bill is very intuitive, gets to all the muscle and nerve knots, and really knows the human anatomy as he's an ex navy seal combat medic. Bill is the real deal. It is evident upon first meeting him that he is extremely knowledgable, experienced and passionate about his work. He is also very kind, gentle, and present. My last of the 10 sessions was over about a month ago and I haven't felt this good in years. Before I started Rolfing I was hardly able to walk and had pain in my lower back and throughout my legs. I could walk for about 4-5 minutes and then had to sit down due to the pain. I walked hunched-over at an almost 90 degree angle. It was miserable. Since Rolfing has been around for decades I decided to try it and I'm so happy that I made the commitment to do the 10 sessions. Bill is amazing and fined-tuned each session based on what I needed that week. From the beginning I felt better. Bill's studio is calm and inviting. On warm days you can do your sessions in his outside studio which makes it even more relaxing. Bill is so knowledgable and has the intuition that only an experienced Rolfing professional can provide. I can't recommend Bill enough. I am so happy. I walked my dog 1/2 mile yesterday and then walked for over an hour at the mall. I just finished the 10 series, and it was amazing. After getting injured in a car accident, healing, and undergoing physical therapy, my entire body was more tense than I'd ever experienced. I had shoulder tension that wouldn't go away, and I knew that I just needed a way to relieve the pain. Bill worked with me to release the tension--he's very knowledgable and skilled at what he does, and he checked in with me at the beginning of every session to address the parts of my body that needed the most attention. I also loved that he gave his full attention during every single session. The 10 series was like an epiphany. I could feel a noticeable difference after each session, I was able to return to my yoga practice with more ease, and I had more energy because Bill helped me create space in my body through Rolfing. I did the 10 series with Bill a couple years ago and the impact was tremendous. I had a emotionally stressful job at the time and was always experiencing body aches and seeking bodywork. During and for many months after-- I had no desire or need for it in the same way. I found myself walking, exercising, and even sometimes running-- most of which I'm not a big fan of, but I felt much more inclined to do so. My family and colleagues commented on the improvement of my posture and I noticed an opening up of my chest. Mostly, I felt more connected to, aware of, and in my body. As a person who has body based traumas, it was nice to feel connected and safe in my body. I did some somatic work (therapeutic tremors and CRM) and talk therapy work before and during this-- and I think that really gave context to the emotional and physical things came up, because they did. It was great experiential and intellectual learning too because I was going through a certification course about therapeutic tremors and part of that included learning about fascia. I talked through many of my sessions and asked many questions throughout-- and Bill was always patient and responsive. Bill really knows his stuff and certainly implemented it with me. As someone who is a bit weary/apprehensive with having male care providers due to past poor experiences, it was a very positive experience to have a male practioner be as kind, respectful, and professional as Bill. I liked it so much suggested it to my husband, who I knew would be apprehensive so I got him a single trial session. He liked it so much he signed up for the ten series. We don't have budgets that easily allow us to afford the 10 session, but we made it work and it was definitely worth the investment. I had been wanting to try Rolfing since a friend mentioned going years ago. I never went until now and so glad I found Bill. He works out the muscle knots and stiffness I thought all body work would do but never did. I have lots of injuries including Scoliosis so finding someone who could actually take the time to work them out was a god send. For some reason most body work I have gone to and it's been quite a lot of them ; never have I recieved the deep tissue work like this. Many reviews mention the ten session package but I can't imagine not going back after the ten pack is done . it's done too much to miss out on if I don't keep coming back. I knew very little of Structural Integration and the Process that I was about to embark on when I started with Bill. I wasn't aware how clear it was that I had been living with a body that was definitely out of alignment. Six months after giving birth to twins, I felt totally off and disconnected from my body. I was developing a hump from being slumped over and nursing all day long, and my alignment was all over the place. I went to see Bill over the summer for a 10 session program and after having my last session before October I am still feeling amazing. Bill is an excellent Rolfer and helped relieve my ongoing back pain and postural problems. It was great to be educated on how to connect the ground properly with my feet - which has led to improvements in how I carry myself, awareness of my posture, and (oddly) even projecting my voice louder. I completed the 10 series along with my fiance back in March, who was stooped over at 6'3 and looked about 5'10. Seven months later, he maintains a straight posture and has fewer back issues from playing the upright bass. Bill tediously worked to find all of my knots, and work through each one. I can't recommend Bill high enough. I just finished my 10 series and I am so very glad that I ventured into the world of Rolfing. I am so much more aware of how I move my body and how to improve my movement. I began a regulated workout regimen as part of the process of working with Bill and I have felt the benefit of our work. Bill has a very calming manner to him and passes no judgement on where you are with your body. He truly wants to help you achieve maximum benefit to this work no matter where you are with your weight, your flexibility etc. However, this is work and some of the muscle work hurts in that the muscle is very tight and needs to be worked to release the tension. I was not a fan of some of the leg work, but I immediately felt the benefits once the session was over. This was the best healing experience I have ever had. After 18 years of back injuries and a recent one that left me unable to walk for a period of time I was interested to find new paths to health. Bill worked with myself and the plan my physical therapist and chiropractor had put in place and really helped my recovery. I had frozen shoulder for more than 2 years. The range of motion on the shoulder and arm was not only restricted but painful. Prior to Rolfing I tried physical therapy and acupuncture they were somewhat helpful but did not alleviate my shoulder condition. My shoulder was so sensitive to any pressure and stretching. Bill was gentle when working on my shoulder and neck muscles, the discomfort and pain was minimal. after the first Rolfing session, I did have some soreness in the area but the range of motion was greater. I was impressed. I sign up to take the 10 Rolfing session series. It took 3 sessions to get my shoulder to function better than before the "frozen shoulder" started. I highly recommend Rolfing to anyone who is a product of contemporary life. As someone who spends too much time tied to a desk with hunched shoulders and low back pain, Bill's approach and technique has vastly improved the quality of my life. Bill is worth his weight in gold (as an amazing rolfer) and I highly recommend him. He is knowledgeable, professional, and has fixed me up again and again. I've purchased many individual sessions and more recently a 10 session package. I've had a combination of issues from adventure/crashes, endurance running, and sitting at work 10-14 hours a day. Bill has been able to fix the issues I have identified, as well as identifying and fixing issues I did not mention and did not know he could fix! Just a few examples below: I went off a jump and landed on my head downhill mountain biking and he was able to re-align my neck and give me full pain free mobility. I struggled with this for about 1.5 years before finding Bill. I previously had upper back and shoulder pain from sitting at work for extended durations hunched over a computer. Bill made some exercise and stretching recommendations and he was able to open up my shoulder posture. I did not think what he did was possible! From one session to the next, I see dramatic improvements and am now pain free. I previously had occasional left hip pain when I would run. Bill identified a misalignment I didn't know about and fixed it. No more hip pain running! More recently I trained for and ran 100k race and had some Achilles problems which Bill is helping me through. I've seen a huge improvement so far. A few times I've had knee pain. When I've mentioned it to Bill, he has been able to re-align my kneecaps and fix me. I cannot say enough good things about the positive effect Bill has had on my life. After my serious mercury poisoning years ago, my body, muscles, and flexibility never felt the same. Even after I had gone through many heavy metal detoxes, I still had a lot of tightness and my whole outer skinsuit did not feel aligned with the rest of my body. I literally felt uncomfortable in my own skin. I've been to chiropractors, tried Pilates, massages etc..nothing helped me with my issues. Then I found Bill. Bill is a trained rolfer from the Rolf institute and his rates are very reasonable for his time and skills. I purchased the ten series to get the maximum benefits of rolfing and it really paid off! Bill is very focused and deliberate on what he is trying to get accomplished in each session with you. Right away I could tell after my first session when I walked, my legs and feet felt more rooted and grounded to the floor. Another time, a few hours after my appt with Bill, I felt shifts on the side of my head where I would get frequent headaches. It felt like my fascia used to be all knotted up and it was finally untangling which will help my circulation and free up the pressure on my head. Throughout my ten series, I was feeling all kinds of positive changes happening with my body. This rolfing thing is no joke. Oh, another thing Bill helped me with is my breathing. I used to breathe more with my chest which was tight and he released some pressure points under my ribcage and that helped me breathe deeper and better with my stomach. Bill has also helped me WAKE UP and strengthen weakened muscles I couldn't feel. I told my friends about Bill and they love love Bill now too! He has helped them relieved their issues too. This is not a relaxing massage though it does feel really good if you like deep tissue massage. At the beginning he asked me questions about my lifestyle and where I had pain, then he had me walk around the space wile he looked at my alignment. It almost felt like I was a puzzle that he was working on to put back together. I liked that. At times he had me actively stretching during the massage.
