When I walked in there were 3-4 people behind the counter. They offered water which was nice but it was room temp/warm. I then had to fill out a long intake form which I wish I could have done online. They handed me an iPad with no base or stand so I was just holding it and typing. I hurriedly finished the intake which is the longest massage intake form I've ever filled out. There was a very awkward introduction to my massage therapist. The whole check in experience felt like it was everyone's first day. The room where the massages are done are shared, similar to a foot massage place. They had an ocean sound playing, but it was so loud that I couldn't hear my therapist when he asked me questions. I could occasionally hear other people talking which snaps you out of the relaxation zone. The actual massage was good. I got The Now, 50 min with added deep tissue. The total with tip was around $185. At that price, I'd rather pay a little more and go to a place that has more amenities and feels more like an experience. When left, they gave me the breakdown of the membership which feels like a timeshare pitch. If you're not a member you're basically overpaying. Even at the member price I don't know if it's worth it. Worst massage experience I've ever had…read more Before the massage even started, the lady asked for payment $60 for an hour FULL BODY MASSAGE and a TIP upfront. I told her I would tip after the service instead. Right away, the experience went downhill. She told me to lay on my stomach and spent the first 15 minutes just lightly rubbing my back with almost no pressure at all. When I asked her to go harder, she suddenly became too rough and actually hurt me. I got so uncomfortable that I let out a huge sigh. I checked the clock and realized she had only been rubbing my back the entire time. Then she suddenly said another lady would take over. The second lady did better, but she also focused only on my back. My chest was starting to hurt from laying in the same position for so long, so I asked if they were going to massage my head, legs, and arms too since I paid for a FULL BODY massage M. I don't think she understood me because she only massaged my feet for a few minutes and then said, "That's it. Done." The timing was also misleading. I've had a bulging/herniated disc since I was 14 (I am 34 now. and have had all sorts of pain from that along with different sports injuries. I also drive A LOT, which does not help at all. Typically I'm driving about 20 to 30 hours a week. After the first session of the 10 series, I noticed a huge difference, and I could not believe how open my chest an upper body felt. I had no idea I had been that type of chop as I have always felt the pain in my lower back, hips, and hamstrings. Each session I felt better and better and I got my friend hooked on him as well. We both rave about his treatments and can't recommend him enough! I know the price seems scary, and the idea of committing to 10 sessions at that price in this economy can be really daunting, but if you love your body, and can make it work financially, it is absolutely worth it! I've gone to all sorts of bodyworkers over the years And Bill is one of the best! He is certainly the best I found in the Los Angeles area. The cost of not going for me would have been MUCH higher.
