Sorry Elements, we have always enjoyed coming here, from the Bay Area, but today you blew it. We arrived @ ~ 10:30, ordered a bloody mary and some ice tea, we were enjoying visiting but realized after an hour that we still didn't have our food. We waited just a bit longer as we watched folks around us being served. We summoned out server and asked if our order had ever been put in, he said he was wondering the same thing. He checked and told us that it hadn't, something about a computer glitch. A half hour later we finally got our breakfast, minus the bacon we ordered, by this time we had been waiting for 1.5 hours! When we got our bill, our server feebly apologized and said he "comped the fresh fruit"! We should have asked to talk to the supervisor, our mistake! Sorry Elements, we won't be driving 1.75 hrs. again, poor service, feeble apology. Ugh read more

I've been here many times, and have always enjoyed myself until the last time. I called and made reservations 2 weeks in advance, over the phone for 13 people on a Sunday morning for my birthday. The person I spoke with, said that was fine, that we would be seated in a smaller room Off the main dining room due to the party size, and she just needed a credit card to guarantee the reservation. No problems there. When we arrived for our reservation, the (who I presume to be) manager, went to seat us. She put us at 2 separate tables, one for 6, and one for 7, across the way from each other. Now the party is completely split up. When I Asked her, why this was happening, she told me that they don't take reservations for large parties on Sundays. I tried to let her know that someone had indeed taken a reservation, and had pretty solidly confirmed that we would at the very least, be sitting at the same table, but she walked off, and never returned to our table. At this point, the table next to one of our tables got up. I asked our server (who was very nice) if we could possibly have the rest of our group sit at that table so we could eat together, like we had planned. She told us that she would have to ask her manager. I'm assuming she said "no", because shortly after another group was seated at the table. Both of our tables were served by different people, and the other part of our group at the other table had their food and were done eating at least 40 minutes before we even had food. I am a fairly laid back customer, but this was pretty blatant, terrible customer service, and I'm not sure that we'll be back to eat. I would rate this by far the top restaurant in our area. Food, service, atmosphere... It has it all. Every time, not just sometimes. All the staff is local, and the chef is local and we local customers really appreciate this. Everyone on the wait staff is professional and friendly. The food is fabulous. Saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Loved the atmosphere, the menu, the wait staff, the Bloody Mary, and most of all I loved the food. Couldn't decide from all the yummy choices so I asked the wait staff and they recommended a sweet and a savory dish. I ended up ordering the Carnival which was the lightest waffle that I've ever had with fresh local peaches and a peach puree with citrus whipped cream. So yummy! My daughter had the Pan of Gold which was the challah French toast and it was heavenly. Highly recommend Element and I look forward to returning! Just wish they were open longer hours. read more

Super nice staff (especially Brianna -- thanks for a great breakfast experience), cute interior with nice high ceilings and lots of natural light, food is scrumptious and they have a range of options including some solid vegetarian/vegan fare. Their challah French toast was dope. I can't recommend the (overrated) Temple brand drip coffee... the espresso drinks were better. The owner does a great job of trying to introduce multicultural elements to the dishes and getting local artists' work on the walls. It was pretty quiet when we showed up at like 09:00 but got pretty packed starting around 10 -- probably helps to go early! If I'm in town again, definitely coming back! read more

I was certainly in my Element while chowing down on the quality brunch provided by this new Sutter Creek establishment. If not for the price v. portion size, I could easily have awarded them 5 stars. You know it's a good sign when almost anything on the menu sounds appealing. I had a hell of a time choosing between the traditional breakfast, the zucchini hash, the eggs Benedict and my ultimate choice - a southwestern concoction with sunny-side up eggs, salsa and fresh tortillas. They apparently ran out of Bloody Mary's before I was able to order one. I did try my father's and have to say it was one of the better versions I've ever tasted, topped with a large toothpick sagging under the weight of various pickled accoutrements. For better or worse, our modern American culture has created a precedent where you like to get what you pay for. All the meals were fantastic when it came to flavor and presentation, but small enough that we had to order side dishes to really fill our tummies. I ordered a side of scrumptious potatoes which typically would have come as part of the meal at any other restaurant. It meant paying an extra $4 for something I would usually get with my entree. Element is an excellent and must stop place!! It's located in a really cool cute little town. Perfect to take a stroll in. The ambience and decor is refreshing, clean, and lively. I love the menu choices. They put a little spin on the traditional which makes things exciting but not scary. I could not decide between 5 items on the menu because they all looked really good. I asked the waitress what her favorite was and she happily suggested the Hanford House Benny. I'm not a huge eggs benedict fan but OMG so flipping yummy!!! Coffee was great, it's made locally in Sacramento. Ugh so yummy!! I wish this place was closer to Sacramento so I eat here more often. Items on the menu where fresh, mostly healthy, and they have vegan options. I wouldn't be surprised if they could fix you up something for gluten free, paleo, Keto diets too. Service was awesome. I made reservations for a party of 7 prior to wine tasting. When we arrived, we were seated right away. When our server brought our menu, it looked very limited. I was wondering where the items I saw on Yelp were... I asked our server and she said they give smaller and limited menus for parties of 6 or more so the kitchen doesn't get too back up. Seriously??? They didn't let me know when I made reservations and additionally, we drove over an hour to get to the restaurant for a bridal party and we weren't even offered their full menu? Ridiculous... we told our server we don't mind waiting so we would like to order from the regular menu. Our server was very friendly and I'm sure she was just complying with the rules. Next time, guests should be informed about the limited menu. I ordered the benedict. It was good but nothing amazing. The decor inside was extremely cute! Sunday brunch in the Mother Lode? That we did at Element. It truly is as good as it gets! Element had been recommended to us by several locals. We were staying in Sutter Creek anyway, and came over here after we checked out of our hotel. The restaurant has a lot of light, given the big windows lining one side of the room. The place is filled with artwork. Just a wonderful environment in which to have brunch. I had the Element Chilaquiles which was "tortilla chips, black beans, chipotle salsa, sunny egg, queso fresco, sour cream". Perfect. C had their Hanford House Benny which featured "slices of rustic bread w/ soprassata, wilted spinach, happy poached eggs, Element citrus hollandaise". She loved it. Sometimes I have a hard time eating out for breakfast because it seems increasingly difficult to find a place that can make anything as good for breakfast as we can at home. My stepmama, our friend, and I spent the day in Sutter and they said we had to come to Element for the Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary. Well, I don't usually order Eggs Benedict, but of course, had to because they said I had to. It is served on bread from the local bakery (not an English muffin), and is perfectly cooked and sauced. I could have had two servings. They gladly took off the meat at my request. I can't stop thinking of it and can't wait to "attempt" to make something close to it at home. Dangitt! I REALLY wanted to like this place! The menu was full of really interesting choices and the restaurant itself is gorgeous. We went there for my husband's birthday breakfast. Unfortunately, it took us nearly an hour to receive our food after ordering and once we got it, my husband's waffle was cold and soggy and my tostada was cold. Mind you- I have a small child so I've gotten used to eating lukewarm or room temperature food but this food was flat out cold. We only didn't send it back because we couldn't handle another hour wait! There was clearly something off when we went. Not sure what it was but - what a bummer. Element is nestled in the ridiculously tiny town that is Sutter Creek and an astonishingly far cry from its surroundings given the modern farm-to-table vibe within its walls. Our servers were so patient with us as we spent quite a bit of time catching up before even placing our orders, a result of having been ages since seeing each other. Dishes included the Tailing Wheel, Hanford House Benny and Motherlode. I opted for the latter and it turned out to be the best omelette I've ever had - all the fresh ingredients came together in such harmony from the tanginess of the goat cheese to the bright sweetness of the caramelized onions to the savoriness of the lardons. My girlfriend's Tailing Wheel was freakishly tasty for what was essentially a poached egg and sausage patty on a biscuit. This said biscuit and my toast were damn good too and tasted even better with the accompanying jam. And to elaborate a bit on the service, they gave my girlfriend a complimentary side of (crazy derricious) bacon to munch on just because her dish was running literally several minutes behind the rest of ours. Had breakfast here for the first time and is was a great food experience. If your expecting a full breakfast with eggs bacon potatoes and toast this probably isn't the place. You can tell the chef puts time and experience in crafting the perfect breakfast bite. I had the Motherlode omelette (crispy lardons, caramelized onions and goat cheese) served with a slice of sourdough bread. The flavor and quality of ingredients was outstanding! The barista made a wonderful latte adorned with espresso art. Food is 5 star. Our server was nice but necessarily attentive. I think she forgot about my latte until the other server/barista asked if I ordered something. Great Little breakfast and lunch spot. Prices were not too bad, but I got the distinct feeling you were paying more for the atmosphere than the food. The coffees were really delicious. I was also really happy that they had gluten-free options, and coconut milk on hand. The wife's a vegan, and it made her happy which makes me happy. They were very kind to let us get on the Wi-Fi, but you need to get the password from your server. Sutter Creek has terrible cellular reception, so any Wi-Fi is better than none. This came as a recommendation from one of the ladies who ran the tasting room at Story vineyards. We were told that they had the best bloody Mary's in town and she was right. We decided to go here on our last morning of our vacation before heading back to the real world, and I am glad we did. It is a cute place in downtown Sutter Creek with outdoor and indoor seating. Our server Rachel was lovely. Very attentive and friendly. We both had a Bloody Mary, coffee, and I had the Main Street cakes, pumpkin pancakes with Apple pie compote, and pecans. I also had the side of potatoes. I am very picky about potatoes because some are so bland and just boring. These were sea salted, white potatoes mixed with sweet potatoes. Clay had eggs, toast and chicken Apple sausage. I am taking my leftovers back to San Jose with me, and next time we are in Sutter Creek we will definitely be back. read more

Well I am adding Element to that list. Walking up to this lovely spot I felt like I was in Seattle. If you look at the pictures of this joint you will think that you are in downtown Seattle eating breakfast. The outside will take you to Black Bottle. But you are in the wonderful Sutter Creek, CA. When we walked in they were slammed. Like, "Sunday morning best pace in town" slammed. Did the staff give us the weird "Why are you here" look? Nope. They were awesome. So friendly. Got our names and took the mimosa order and showed us up to the lobby area to wait for our table. I could not believe how cool the vibe was. This establishment is top notch. It rates right up there with high end places in much larger cities. The menu is upscale and fresh. There is something for everyone. My friend was very intimidated by the menu. He is a very traditional breakfast kind of guy so it was a little tough for him. If you are looking for traditional biscuits and gravy garb for breakfast or your normal boring dish go somewhere else. Element is a pleasure to the eyes and taste buds. I would call it an adventure. I ordered the Badger. I can honestly say that this was one of the best breakfast meals that I have had. The egg was perfect. The beans and corn tortilla were so tasty. I loved it. Perfect amount of cojita. My friend was not amused with his meal. The only suggestion that we do have is to not serve a salad with a breakfast meal. He was so baffled that he got a fancy salad with his breakfast meal and honestly I am too. No one wants salad at breakfast. Switch it up. Throw some grits or potatoes or another fabulous dish in with the Tailing Wheel.
