Go to this place at your own risk. I am warning everyone right now. If you want a business owner who will lie to your face, never communicate with you then this is your place. I don't know how other people are giving this place a five star because I had nothing but issues, lack of communication and lies from Jon the owner. I don't doubt that they may do good work here but you better have patients and not get pissed off if promised deadlines are not met. With that out of the way let me start my story. I brought in my carbon fiber frame to get some work done. Specifically, I needed to get the bottom of my handlebar reworked and the area around where the seat post clamp tightens needed some work to get it to sit flush when the bolts were tighten down. I brought in my frame and spoke to Jon and he examined my frame and told me that it was an easy job and it should not take him more than a week to get the job done. So I asked him are we looking at a Friday pick up date then? John said yes. So I left my frame and Friday comes around. I called in the morning and no one picks up. I called an hour later and no one is picking up at all. So I decided to just go over to the shop and pick up my frame. I show up and John is no where to be found but his workers were and when I asked where is my frame they had no idea where it was. It took 10 minutes of looking around before they found my frame and to my surprise it had not been touched. Asked the worker why has my frame not been worked on and they had no idea. But they took the frame and handlebar and put it John's office and said it will be worked on it once John comes back. I asked when is he coming back and they told me that John was gone until the following Wednesday. So of course I left there pissed. So I waited another week and called on Friday. John actually picked up his phone this time and I asked him if my frame was ready. John stated that there was more work to be done on the handlebar then originally thought. I asked him when did he think the frame will be ready? John said it should be done by Monday. So now we are going on two weeks. So that following week I called on a Tuesday and at first no one picked up until I started scrambling my phone number. Jon finally picked up and I asked if the frame and handlebar was ready? John stated that they were working working on it and it should be ready by Wednesday afternoon, but he will call if anything changes. So Wednesday passed and on Thursday I show up to the location to pick up my frame. John looked at me and I told him that I am here to pick my frame. John looked at me and said oh the frame is not ready. He took into his shop to me what he had done and it looked like he had just started to work on the handlebar. He had not even touched the actual frame. I asked why him why didn't he call me? John said, "oh we have busy, sorry" he will tell you lots of sorry to put you off. So I just left and didn't say a word. The next day I show up again at his location and I told to just give me my frame. He gather my stuff and gave it to me and I asked what I owe him for the work that he did. John told me that I didn't owe anything, so at least he has some class. But basically I lost three weeks. I don't blame John for anything I blame myself for being dumb enough to believe his B.S. please listen to what I am saying right now and stay away from this place unless you just don't care when things get done. I will never go back to this place nor will I ever recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and go to Premier Bicycle Werks in Orange Chuck will do a better job and not lie to you about when things will get done. I took my frame over there and will be getting my frame back this Friday. read more

Element 6 did an incredible job fixing my chipped S Works. Color is a very different and I wasn't sure whether it could be matched or not. They matched it perfectly. Really takes exceptionally bad customer service to get me to write a negative review. After posting this I learned there are others that have had the same bad experience: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=191367. 1) Brought bike to Cycle Therapy (now Element 6), owned by John Tzinberg, for frame touch-up paint work. 2) Was told job would be "A few days" and "About $200." Maybe less if I supplied touch-up paint. 3) Left my bike and touch-up paint with Cycle Therapy. 4) Returned in a week. Bike not ready yet. 5) Received email that bike was ready and an invoice for $393.20. Was very surprised and dismayed about amount and lack of notification but I don't like shortchanging people for skilled work. Cycle Therapy only offered "Took twice as long to get paint right," which doesn't make sense since I supplied the paint. 6) Went to pickup bike and pay. Work was half done. I was told "Sorry. Bring it back and I'll finish it for no additional charge." I paid invoice. 7) Brought bike back to Cycle Therapy. Was again told "A few days." 8) Emailed Cycle Therapy that I could pick up bike on Friday or Monday. 9) Cycle Therapy emailed back: "Monday." 10) Went to Cycle Therapy on Monday. Closed. 11) Called Cycle Therapy owner from outside his closed shop. Was advised: "Bike is not ready. Sorry I forgot to tell you we would be closed." 12) Advised Cycle Therapy owner I no longer wanted them to work on my bike and I wanted a refund for their very casual use of my time and money. 13) Got note from Cycle Therapy owner he would be open on Thursday at 2. 14) Arrived at Cycle Therapy at 2. Closed. Note posted on door: "Back in 30 minutes." I wait outside. 15) Cycle Therapy owner arrives. Brings me my bike. I ask about my refund. He says "I can give you a refund, no problem." 16) Five days later, still no refund. I've started a dispute with American Express. Glad I didn't pay this guy cash. read more

I first came to Element 6 to purchase a new BH Quartz Disc road bike and John was extremely patient and informative and made sure I left with a bike that fit my needs, my budget, and went above and beyond in making a few component swaps and upgrades. After receiving such incredible service I brought my other road bike in for service. John's skilled hands quickly fixed my shifting issues and the turnaround time was much sooner than expected and my bike was clean and shifting perfectly. Your response to my review is again not facts they are your opinions which did not happen. You claim to have multiple comments and likes on the pictures of the bike yet you have one like and one comment, and those pictures are not even the correct design. It is has never been about getting a free paint job, that was never the intent and that is still not the intent. You do not listen to your customers concerns, you changed the design without letting the customer know. You said the design which you created did not fit on the bike because of the geometry of my frame but then when you repainted the fork after the first chipping all of a sudden your painter was able to make the design fit onto the bike. You have repaired the paint twice but it is still chipping in the same location. This is not about getting out and riding your bike which you continue to say at the end of every response. This is about providing good quality service which keeps your customers coming back, which was not done. We unfortunately remain an unhappy customers, we have unfortunately not been able to recommend your business to friends that need carbon repair or paint work because of our experience with you. This is a review for the honesty of the shop owner, John Tzinberg. I have brought a steel bike with a frame defect for repair at a time of transition of his business to the current location. Due to an unfortunate lapse in communication, I have managed to contact him several months later to find out that he transported the bike to the new location and attempted to contact me. Eventually, he suggested that the cost of repair would outweigh the value of the bike and recommended a different approach. His honesty is admirable and rare. I look forward to having my bikes serviced at his place. read more

These guys are awesome - I can't recommend them enough. For anyone out there with an electric scooter issue, save your time and bring it here. My e-scooter got a flat tire months ago, I sat on the problem, purchased a replacement tire on Amazon, but couldn't find any bike/tire/repair shop that was willing to tackle putting on the new tire. I had called more than a handful of bike shops in the OC area - the only responses I got were variations of "no we cant/ we don't have the right tools/ we have a 2+ week wait list just to try." Element 6 was the only shop eager and up for the task. The guys here are super knowledgeable, competent, and willing to help. Just from talking to the main guy here, I had faith that he'd get the job done. He did, and at a very reasonable price and a quick turnaround. This place is 10/10. Now I'm back on my scooter, and wishing I had brought it here months ago. Any of my friends/family that have a bike/scooter problem, I'm sending them here. read more

Like others, it takes a lot for me to write a review, good or bad, but my experience with John the owner of Element 6 was beyond horrible. My sons Santa Cruz mountain bike had a couple of areas that needed repair. We brought the bike to John on May 24 2019 and left it with Element 6 for an estimate. Four days later on May 28th, John sent me an estimate/contact with his description of the repair and the cost. John requested a deposit of 50% upfront and John told me the job would take him 2 weeks to complete. After 2 1/2 weeks I called John to ask him when I could pick up the bike. He said it wasn't ready for a variety of reasons(too many to count). He would keep saying it should be ready next week. I would call the following week and John would give me the same answer as before, one more week. This went on for 8 WEEKS!!! John would always say he would call me with an update and never(not once) did. I was the one who had to keep checking back with him to see how things were going. I probably called John 15-20 times over the 8 WEEK period and during the end he told me that I called him too much. John sucks as a business owner and has zero customer service. I know at times when running a business things happen; I know, I have a small business myself. The one thing you need to do is communicate with your customers. John did none of that and had one excuse after another. I finally picked up the bike on July 19th, 2 MONTHS to the day from when I brought it to John. There's a lot more to the story, but you get the idea. 2 weeks turned into 2 months. He gets your bike in the shop, flat out lies about the completion date, gets your deposit and now you're in the Element 6 vortex. Ridiculous!!! I wish I had do more research and read more reviews on John and Element 6 before wasting my sons summer on this bike repair. read more

Anyone who knows me I beat the crap out of my bikes. Most bikes are not designed for 200+ racers and sooner or later something bad is going to happen. John Tzinberg and his team have repaired all of my carbon fiber mishaps and never to break again. I also don't like any of the paint jobs that most bike companies come out with. I'm not into the NASCAR look. Element 6 has done two custom paint jobs one mountain and one road. Everyone asks what brand is it. I say mine. I recommend everyone to do the same.
