I had my wedding cake done by Elegance On Display in Fallbrook, CA as part of my Wedgewood Wedding and Banquets package. Jennifer was very nice and may cake was absolutely beautiful and just what I wanted. I had a very large and delicate figurine as my topper that I was a little worried my fall off and break but Jennifer made sure it was secured and it looked amazing. We got to go to a tasting at her shop and try several kinds of cake and pick exactly what we wanted and also design the look of the cake with her. Her cakes are delicious and we chose 3 kinds for our 3 tiered cake because there were too many delicious flavors to just have one! Jennifer also made us a separate small cake to save for our one year anniversary! So sweet! I got many compliments on both the look and taste of the cake. That is because she does NOT use FONDANT, she uses BUTTERCREAM frosting and makes it looks a smooth as fondant! read more

I've been meaning to write this review since my wedding a few years ago. I chose this bakery because it was really reasonably priced and the woman who made the cake was so very kind and seemed very flexible, wanting to get every detail right in what I asked. Of everyone I dealt with for my wedding; florist, seamstress, photographer, etc, no one was as accommodating as she was. But you never know how it will turn out until the day it arrives. I was amazed that it was exactly what I asked and even more beautiful than I imagined! When I first came to her, I asked if the cake could resemble Wedgwood china but be the shade of my wedding color, with the pearlized sheen, and that one of the layers match the lace of my dress! A tall order, but she hit everything perfectly! She asked for a bunch of pictures to get it just right. Not only that, but it tasted divine. And not only that, but the individual cake we received to be frozen for the one year anniversary tradition, was actually really good as well even a year later! read more

I had a picture of the exact cake I wanted and Jennifer made it perfectly! We ordered buttercream because it tastes so much better than fondant though fondant looks so perfect. She frosted that cake so perfectly that everyone thought it was fondant. The side decorative beading was also perfect. As someone who use to decorate cakes I am amazed because it is so hard to frost and do side work that perfectly showing just how good she is. The cake tasted great too. She gives you a small cake of your flavor choice to save for your first anniversary so you don't have to purchase another layer to save. Highly recommend!! read more

I selected Elegance on Display from the vendor list from my venue and I am so happy that that they recommended her! First off, the pictures on the website were amazing! When you click on the gallery it takes you to categories so you can look at they type of cake that interests you. Every picture looked so beautiful and each had a different vibe to it. Honestly, one of the main reasons we picked Elegance on Display was because we knew we wanted a dessert bar and a small cake for our wedding. Jennifer offered such a wide variety of small treats as well as beautiful cake design so it seemed to be perfect. When we sat down for our tasting Jennifer was beyond amazing. She offered various different cake flavors as well as samplings of the mini desserts. She offered suggestions on flavors and tried to instill balance on our array of small desserts. She was so accommodating when I expressed interest in having a more untraditional wedding cake flavor and brought out a taste of banana cake for us. It was delicious and she suggested peanut butter frosting and we were sold. We also got a very traditional almond cake with fudge and fruit that was perfect for the more traditional crowd. Both of these flavors she suggested and we loved each of them. For the small desserts there were so many options! Any flavor I asked for she said she could do and had every dessert I could think of! She catered to our individual tastes from s'mores cupcakes for my husband to mini key lime pies for me as well as cream puffs for the parents. From there, she sketched a beautiful wedding cake from my vague descriptions. It helped that she had very pretty models and so many more pictures to look at to help me focus my vision. I actually ended up completely changing my entire look of the cake to a very trendy white/pinkish ombre with gold drip a few months before the wedding. She immediately said she could do it and there was no additional charge for me changing my mind. On the day, the cake was absolutely beautiful and even better than I imagined! It really looked straight out of pinterest or instagram! She could not have done a more beautiful job! And of course it was so delicious as were all of the desserts! Everyone was raving about the cake and the desserts all night! We offered little to-go boxes at the end of the night and we had nothing left because everyone loved it all!! Usually bride and grooms are stuck with wedding cake after the wedding but we had almost nothing because all of the desserts were such a big hit! Jennifer was so great to work with, full of great suggestions and so very accommodating. And she definitely knows how to bake AMAZING sweets. Jennifer was great! I had mini cupcakes for my wedding with a top tier for me and my husband to cut at the wedding. It was amazing! The mini cupcakes and the little cake all looked so cute! She did a great job with decorating them and packing them so they survived the ride to my venue! She was so sweet to add a ribbon and flower to my little cake for free and even make me a 1 yr cake which I was not expected. The cakes were all very tasty!! I am gluten free and my gluten free cake was also really really good!! She was very busy and so sometimes it took her a little while to respond but she was also getting married herself and her assistant quit- and she still responded pretty fast, I bet if those things werent going on she would respond right away. I heard about this bakery and have seen photos of their cakes, which are all very beautiful. For my daughter's graduation I wanted to give her a cake she would love. I found a photo online, sent it to the bakery and they nailed it. I could not believe how absolutely on-point they were with the cake decoration. Aside from that, I have always wondered if beautiful cakes taste as good as they look and we were not let down. It was unbelievably delicious. I just came across a disturbing review about Elegance On Display. Ive recommended this business to many of my friends. All 5 star reviewed..... Portia G. has went way south on her review, sounds more like unjustified attempted to harm her reputation because of the flower situation. If you hire a florist and she doesn't provide flowers how is that anyone else fault. Write a review about the florist. At any rate Ill recommended Jennifer to anyone!!!!!! Elegance on Display was a vendor recommended to my by my Wedding coordinator to bake our cake. Although the cake she made for us was elegant and tasted great, Ms. Duarte is very unprofessional. When my friends and I went in for a cake tasting, she charged me an additional $125 because she said that my package with the wedding coordinator only covered 100 people, so I would need more cake for an additional 50 people. On her recommendation, I paid the extra. When I talked to my coordinator, she told me to call Jennifer and get a refund because there is no way you need a piece of cake for all 150 guests and she always recommends her brides get less when they use Jennifer. I called Jennifer with this information and she promised me a $50 refund (stating that I shouldn't go with that much less cake since we had a cupcake tier in the middle). I had to follow up with her 2x to try and get her to send me the refund. Finally, the day of my wedding, after I had a bridesmaid ask her again for a refund she gave me a check. I found out yesterday that the $50 check bounced. read more

Elegance on Display was the Preferred Vendor for Villa De Amore, where we will get married in a week. Our initial call with Jennifer was interesting because we told her we would have to bring our kids, and she said that we could "if we must". Perhaps, we should have cancelled the appointment right then and there. We drove an hour and a half to get there but had really wanted to use the "Preferred Vendor" just to keep it simple. Upon arrival, she showed us a quick video but the cakes weren't numbered and she didn't sit with us so that we could show her which ones we liked. We tried to note which ones looked good as they were flipping by on the screen. Afterwards, we all sat down at a table (while she ate a salad, I might add) and we each had 5 cakes slices for us to sample. I don't know if these are made from cupcakes but all but the carrot were very dry. When we talked about prices, we told her we wanted a huge cake and she said that she didn't use a foam layer- to make it larger- because it's so expensive (Has she been to Michael's craft store? It's cheap as can be!). Okay, so we asked, then can we just get a much bigger cake than we would usually get for 70 people? Well, she went round and round about how much it would cost rather than just upselling us. My thought is, if someone is willing to purchase a $500 wedding cake, why not sell them one? Overall, it just wasn't the cake tasting I had envisioned so we chose another baker. Jennifer later called and asked where we were at on the cake and I shared that we had decided to use someone else because it wasn't a great cake tasting experience overall. No apology but instead she said, "I just wish you'd told me sooner". Honestly, I thought that my wedding venue had done so but that's neither here nor there. I'm all for great customer service, especially for my wedding, and want to do business with people who feel the same way! read more

Contrary to the other reviews I and my bride to be believe that Jennifer was amazing. She was beyond professional. She had everything set up for us as soon as we arrived and it was neat and elegant. Her selection was superb and she was very friendly and personable. She is great at what she does. She worked with my bride to be to make the perfect cake. If my bride didn't like her ideas she didn't push them and listened to her intently. I would recommend her to anyone. In short she is awesome. The cake tasting was really cool because they show you a slideshow of a large variety of cakes they have decorated and it really helps form ideas and also see the work they do firsthand. Jennifer is awesome! She did our cake for our wedding and it was a joy to work with her. She's very professional and takes great care of you. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted before I walked in the door. I had looked at her pictures on her website and the cakes looked beautiful. I assumed many of them were fondant which I didn't want. Come to find out, most were buttercream! I couldn't believe it. It opened up my possibilities of what I could have for my wedding cake. At this point I really didn't know what I wanted but she was wonderful. She explained we could do different flavors for different layers, different designs on the different layers, etc. She has a great eye and makes wonderful suggestions. When we saw our cake on our wedding day it completely blew us away. It was stunning. Not only was it beautiful but it tasted amazing too! We had our site put a piece of each of the flavors into containers we brought with since we knew we wouldn't have time to eat it at our wedding after we cut the cake. Like the person below I went with Elegance On Display because it was the preferred wedding vendor for our venue. We were married at Wedgewood at the Fallbrook golf club in February. We had to go with their dj and their florist as well. Every single vendor that was associated with them fell short and really left us disappointed, EXCEPT for Jennifer. We met with her and she worked with us on planning our big day. We went for cupcakes and because we had a large wedding we had 8 different kinds. We went in for a tasting and the cakes were moist and delicious. She even worked with us on creating a smore cupcake that she had not made before. She let us have exactly what we wanted and we were more than happy with the result. Every single cupcake was gone, when it came time for dessert for our wedding and everyone still raves about them. We had a rassberry lemonade cupcake, cookies and cream, chocolate peanut butter cup, strawberry shortcake, smores, chocolate on chocolate, carrot cake, and vanilla with white frosting. She also provided a cake for my husband and I to cut which was covered in rock sugar, exactly how we wanted it to be. She set up the cupcakes and cake beautifully. Thank you Jennifer for being the one vendor that didnt let us down and helped us have the wedding we wanted. Unfortunately we can't say the same for the dj or florist who let us down more than anything, but we will continue to recommend Elegance on Display for any of our friends who are getting married!
