Recently I had to buy something here because I could not find it at a smaller store. And in fact, I had a very hard time locating the product at this store. I asked 3 different people who didn't know, and eventually found it on my own. A few days later, I was at WinCo and found the same product for 1/4 of the price. I am a dog lover, but not in a grocery store. Over the past few visits, I witnessed a woman with a shopping cart with two smaller dogs placed in the basket with no blanket or covering. The two dogs were licking furiously the grocery cart, as the prior user must have had something which leaked onto the cart. Perhaps this was the cart you last used when you placed your groceries inside a cart??? Today I was in the self-checkout area. A man with a full-sized poodle was paying for his groceries while his dog thought he was part of a welcoming committee, going to customers in the area and smelling him or her. When the dog came up to me, I ask the dog owner to please take his dog away from me. I made mention of this to the employee overviewing the area. I said it is against a health ordinance to have dogs in a grocery store which are not service animals. I told the employee at least, the dog should be on a leash and not free to roam. She snapped back at me "the dog has a leash". Disgusting at best. Incidentally, Major Market doesn't tolerate dogs in their store. read more

Hello, I want to start by saying that I genuinely enjoy shopping at Albertsons. The store is always clean, well-stocked, and the staff is usually very helpful. I appreciate having this location in the community. However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the Pokémon vending machine inside the store. I've noticed on multiple occasions that an Albertsons employee "Donna" was waiting there to check the machine and removes products while on the clock. As a customer who makes a special trip to the store specifically to check the vending machine, it feels unfair to see employees accessing products during their shift before customers have a fair chance. I was under the impression that there may be policies in place about employees purchasing or checking vending machine inventory during working hours, and that purchases should be limited to breaks or off-duty hours to keep things fair for customers. If that is not the case, I would appreciate clarification. I'm bringing this up because I truly enjoy shopping here and would like to see a fair system in place for everyone, especially for customers who drive out specifically hoping to find product in stock. Case in point...Body Armor drinks were priced .99 cents when buy within the "Pick 4 or more" promo. Right next to the same sign is a NEW flavor. You'd think it was priced the same...99 cents. Nooo it is priced for $2.50 each! Same thing with Soleil Sparkling Waters. On sale for $1.99 an 8 pack but new flavors are A LOT more! They were on the same shelf so you'd think they were priced the same. Is this the old bait & switch and hope you don't look at your receipt because most people are in a hurry? Well, there was a young person working behind the floral counter by the name of MYTH this person heard my wife and I talking and gave her the balloon to fill it up with helium returned it to us and said this is no charge. Well let me tell you about Albertsons. It's pretty much the only major grocery store in this town. I usually go in the self-checkout because I just can't stand in line when they only have two checkers and the lines are way past the freezer section. So I go into self-checkout and I am checking out my groceries and the lady asks me and I know we're in California. I get that which is par for the course so she asks me if I need a bag. Well technically the answer would be yes, but if I really wanted to be a smart ass I could have said well, Do you expect me to carry these groceries in my hand all the way to my car. I know the bags have been banned in California but that doesn't mean that we all go with the flow. We all don't have recyclable bags and I refuse to buy recyclable bags. So continue giving me bags because I'm going to continue needing the bags and I would have to say that as far as the look of the store it wasn't that bad. However, the Valentine's Day stuff is all out and the Christmas stuff is all back on sale in the clearance section 70% off which is a little too early because we're still in January. So we would probably just forget Valentine's Day and skip to Easter because that's the rate we're going. So if you're going to Albertson's make sure you bring your recyclable bags because even in the produce section you're going to get a bag that feels like rubber and it's not even a plastic back. I don't even know what it is and it probably has tons of chemicals in it. So your going to want to wash your fruit and your vegetables. So yes, make sure you bring your bags. read more

They have the BEST flowers I have seen at any grocery store. I suspect their milk products aren't the best because the milk brand I get through Albertsons spoils quickly and gets a foul smell. I have been using the curb side service for the last year and I an very happy with the customer service. The deliver to the car pretty quick and have always been kind. Like ordering on line so I can compare prices and brands and discover new products. The Deli has a great selection of pre-prepared items: hot & cold Chicken, salads, side dishes, which saves me time. I had one order with some items missing, called the Manager and she was super helpful, resolved the problem with kindness and efficiency. Due to some mobility issues, I can't go into large stores to do my shopping. I am so glad that this Albertsons has the curbside service, excellent customer service, easy parking, and lots of good products to explore. Thanks so much Albertsons! read more

I am SO over Albertsons and am officially going back to Ralphs even though it is further away. I had Albertsons yearly FreshPass subscription to save on home delivery as we do not live that close to the store. Time and again, they would get our orders wrong. Items were missing all the time! One time, it was literally half the order, must have been five bags or so and multiple packs of canned drinks. FreshPass offers a dedicated customer service line, the call wait times were very long and two times I had to call back for additional issues. The errors just kept coming. At least one of every three orders had refund requests. So, I cancelled the subscription three months ago. Yesterday, I had to do a home delivery, there was no way around it, and paid the $9.95 delivery fee, plus tip. I am missing over $40 in items. I should have called this months ago but last night was the last time. I have three other store delivery subscriptions, Wal-Mart, CVS and Target and I have never had an issue with any of those services. I don't leave many reviews, but this is long overdue. Albertson's home delivery is absolutely terrible (at least in my area), the FreshPass is a joke, and their customer service line is a waste of time. Self-check out: I wanted to do the checking myself. They had a woman in charge of that area. I started to check my five items, and she comes up to me. Why?. I started trying to scan the first code, and she takes over. I was having a bit of trouble getting the first code to scan. No big deal. I didn't ask for help. I would have figured out what to do. She tells me to get out of the way so she can work the machine. She was angry, like I was a hostile person. It was the strangest experience. If she does not have patience with people, she should not be there. Their self-checking registers are a little different than a lot of the ones used at other stores. read more

Walked into the prison/store this morning to shop. Isles of medicine, supplements, toiletries, laundry detergents, etc. all locked up in cabinets. You need to beckon someone to help you. Albertson's are you "dumb or just stupid"? This is how you treat customers? You change locations of products on a whim because someone in management thinks it's a good idea. It takes months to retrain yourself where stuff is. I used to be able to get in and out of this store, not anymore. They now try to force you to self serve instead of manning a cash register. Always a pleasure to grocery shop here, not typically some thing I would yelp review on but I just feel compelled to shout out to all of the smiles that I receive every time I walk through the sliding doors of this specific Albertson's in the quaint little town of fallbrook right outside camp Pendleton military base, honestly I don't think I've ever been to a friendlier grocery store. It's super clean plenty of space to shop, there's always a good stocked selection of frankly everything you could possibly want and more. The customer service is amazing, I really have to state again that everybody's super awesome they're nice they're happy and they're helpful and I've never once had a bad experience with any of The individuals that work here, honestly it makes shopping a lot more fun. I like to Crouzon right before they close at 11 o'clock so I shoot for the 10:15 PM 1030 window when there's not too many people in the store, they are typically stocking the shelves around this time so just be prepared To wiggle around the large blocks of merchandise, which really isn't difficult at all I give them five stars for all of the amazing times I walk through the doors and receive those smiles it is just made it 10 times better to go shopping. I like this store. It is clean, well-lit and aisles are wide. I have 2 favorite departments, but they are all well-presented. The floral department has beautiful, long lasting orchids for a fair price. They have special boxes for the pot so it is stable to transport. I also like their produce department which has just about everything. The produce is fresh and tidy. They have good specials and many mushroom choices. This is my go to store. You should use their app because it gives some nice rewards. Load all your preferred coupons at home. The app is tied to the cell phone number so when you enter that at checkout it tracks your 'credit' for the purchase. You can get free gifts like tissues, english muffins, bucks off, the rewards offer many choices. I find the service people polite, friendly and helpful. read more

I just spent a lot of money for our standing rib roast which I don't mind doing because that's what my family likes on Christmas day. I usually get it from Albertsons in Oceanside and get served quite well. They would greet me at the meat counter with kind words and sometimes a smile too! Also, since I get such a big cut of meat and it's hard to handle, they ask if I'd like some seasonings on it before they wrap it for me. Today was a much different story. I want to call it harassment of some kind. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not as young as I used to be and the meat guy, Alex would rather help beautiful women and I understand that, but his rudeness went above and beyond to the point that I'm actually writing a Yelp review. I arrived at the meat counter after he finished with the woman ahead of me, and he looks at me and give me a head nod. No words, just a head nod. So I head nodded him back and he head nodded me again, and I did it back to him. He finally said, "you want something?". I asked him where the rib roast that was on special was and he said, "how much you want"? I said where is it and is it a rib roast? He said that they keep it in the back, it is a rib roast, and how much did I want. I said I'd like four ribs and he said it's gonna be a few minutes. I said ok and did some shopping. I came back to the counter after a few minutes and he was doing something else. I looked at him and he head nodded me, so I head nodded him back. He said, "you want something"? I said you were getting my rib roast and he points to it on the counter without saying a word. I said oh, ok I didn't see that there and I asked him about another special they were having. He said that it was a "just for u" deal and it was located out there and points to the meat bins out in the store. I never found it and left as soon as possible. I've been shopping for many years and I have never had anyone from Albertsons treat me so disrespectfully. I am actually shocked, but sadly where I live I am limited on grocery stores so I'll have to go back, but I probably won't be visiting the meat counter anytime soon. read more

THE GREAT: We went to get flu shots at CVS and saw a long line. So, we went to Albertsons and found no line. They gave us our shots and also helped me get another shot I was due for. They did a good job and it was pleasant and uncrowded. They also advised me about when I needed an update on the extra shot I got. Was this a random case or is this the best-kept secret about where to get your vaccinations in town? I don't know, but they did a great job of dealing with insurance and getting us taken care of. THE GOOD: Selection and hours. They have a lot of different things available due to the size of the store. It's huge. They also open early in the morning and close late in the evening after most other stores are closed. The store is well lit, and they have a lot of premade snacks and meals in their produce/deli areas. The meat section looks pretty well stocked for a small-town store too. If you don't care about prices and want to have lots of options, Albertsons might be fine for you. Having said that, I wasn't able to find the kind of eye lubricant drops I needed, despite them having lots of kinds of eye drops. I didn't care about the brand, but I couldn't find the type I had to have and ended up ordering it online from a big box store. Still, for an affluent gourmand, Albertsons is probably a good place to shop. THE BAD: High prices. The prices are so high that I tend to look closer to see if they are what I think I'm seeing. My understanding is that they have a very high margin. Now, if that's good for their workers' pay and benefits, I'm happy about that. I don't know if that's true, though. I don't think they start at a higher wage than other grocery stores in town do. I have been able to find reasonable prices on a few items by looking hard. Generally, though, it's just too expensive for the same types of things I can get elsewhere. If you're an affluent gourmand, you probably will appreciate the variety and not care about the prices so much. THE UGLY: Okay, to be fair, their bathrooms have two stalls each and the store is open longer hours. So, if you're just coming back from out of town and need a few things to make it through the next day, you might want to stop at Albertsons, get survival food and use the restroom before heading home if needed. Also, nobody screens you by checking to see if you're buying something. You can just use the restroom and then do your shopping without asking for a key or code. HOWEVER, their restrooms sometimes appear as though they just get glossed over and don't ever get very thoroughly cleaned. Any public restroom needs to be scrubbed down and have the buildup removed now and then, especially on baby changing stations and places people touch. There have been times when I have to say that if I still had a small baby, I'd go elsewhere to change a diaper. I also have used disinfectant wipes on the door and stall surfaces before touching them or only touched them with a paper towel because it appeared they didn't get cleaned regularly with all the handprints on them. The last time I was in there, it was better than before, but it still didn't look as though it had been thoroughly scrubbed down. They don't smell, and the trash is usually but not always contained in the trash cans. I would recommend that they scrub them down well once a month and clean every surface daily, paying special attention to the baby changing shelf, the stall dividers, doors, and handles on the toilet and sink. Also, get the door and get it very clean. We know your employees use this restroom too, so how clean can our food be? If Albertsons cleaned their restrooms better and offered more good sale prices on produce, I'd shop there more often. Nonetheless, it seems popular and I stop by about once a month for one reason or another. read more

My wife and I have watched this location go downhill in the last year since we moved to fallbrook. It started with us noticing the meat would expire well before the expiration date. We tried to believe it was maybe our own refrigerator or something else. But then we also noticed the cuties from the produce section no matter what day of the week always seem to taste bad in comparison to any other grocery store. The last time I was there the yellow tag sale did not ring up and they admitted to me they were having issues with that, so I got my refund the next day cash back without an exchange. I have heard rumors about dying the meat, which until Thursday night I was not sure about but now quite possibly convinced. Aside from every thing moving around and not being able to find what you need on the aisles, last Thursday night all of the salads and meats were removed from the shelves as there was a refrigeration issue apparently. I'm a little disappointed this location is kind of a focal point and in the middle of town. I'm most likely going to stop shopping here. I would be aware of the meat and produce as I cannot confirm how long they've been sitting out and not be getting cold. My wife and i have going to the Fallbrook Albertsons for as long as we've been living here in Fallbrook (6 years) and we love it! Okay, they're not the cheapest place to ship for groceries but my experience has for the most part (98% of the time) once or twice in 5 years had a incident with an employee, but that person no longer works there. That being said, we love the current staff! Just wanted to give a shout out to Irene, Kate, Jonathan, Anna and the rest of the Albertsons crew! The staffing is friendly and helpful. Some of them even greet us by name (added bonus). Ive been happy with selection at the deli and i must agree the fresh baked cookies are awesome.
