Since shopping there in person, I haven't found the floral department to be friendly, nor did they offer enough product for the $5 Friday bouquets -- 3 bunches is not enough for the day. However, I have engaged with several really nice checkers, and the manager was very helpful when there was an issue about recycling. The butcher there has been very responsive and helpful. The new security measures make it a less inviting establishment... but I guess I understand the need to deter shoplifters. I try to shop during less busy times when operations seem to run smoothly, however, it seems like they are not prepared with open check stands when the crunch comes. There have been multiple lines 20 customers long. Not sure what to suggest, but this has been a problem, especially during holidays. read more

Vons is not a store that a customer can pick up less few items and be on their way. Hwy 76 is slow enough on the return trip home but Vons adds insult to time lost with being constantly understaffed, only having three checkout lines open, and no self-checkout lines for convenience. Customers using the express line with should not be using a dozen coupons because it takes time for cashier to verify each coupon, which the line is no longer express. This practice should be stopped because each coupon doubles the time it takes to check items. I called at 5 PM and asked to discuss this issue with a manager but was told they left for the day so the store essentially isn't being managed. What if someone wanted ato shoplift? Vons exposes itself to that. Sprouts is just as good and at least they have a self-checkout where I can purchase a few items in under 10 minutes. read more

I shop here regularly because it's clean and the staff is nice . Today I am reviewing Bernell. 1st when I got in the store and opened my phone I noticed I needed an app update. Never a good thing for a dinosaur like me.! I was getting frustrated because I couldn't access my deals and I was taking pictures of all the tags that I couldn't get to register on my phone for the checker. Bernell greats my melt down with a smile. He sympathized that he had the same problems with updates also. He showed me sone shortcuts and actually got me a digital coupon I missed. Destined to be closed under pending Kroger (Ralph's) ownership shortly anyway, I guess it shouldn't be surprising that this place has the most sullen, unfriendly and uncooperative grocery store staff I've ever seen. If I wanna be treated like I'm a POS, I shop at Aldi where the employees assiduously avoid answering questions or helping you...but that's your punishment for lower prices. When I took a hard look at those confusing receipts the machine drills out, I noticed incorrect pricing on advertised items I purchased, after the fact. I talked to three different people at checkout stands who absolutely refused to make some adjustments to credit me back, even though I had their flyer in hand. I asked if there was a manager, of course. And they all just said no, as if there's nobody running the ship and they're all braindead. I've had this happen before, and they were more than happy to accommodate me, so something has changed...probably reflective of current bad (or chronically absent!) management. I've lived in this area nearly 35 years and I've never been treated so unpleasantly at this store. They really didn't give a shite. So, to punish them, I simply had a checker (with resting beeyotch face) painstakingly/manually re-enter everything I purchased as returns for credit. I will never shop here again...their everyday prices are ridiculous anyway, so I really don't care. I decided to do my grocery shopping at this Von's Market tonight since my local Walmart Supercenter Store is usually crowded. It was great tonight and more stress free with less customers inside this market. I noticed that Vons has a lot of their products on sale tonight. There prices are really competitive with other grocery stores like Ralphs, Walmart, and Sprouts. I bought 14 items tonight at my local Vons Market. Romero was my cashier and he was very friendly to me, when he was scanning my grocery items. I told Romero I did not have my Vons Club Membership Card with me but I asked Romero if he could just type in my home telephone number? Romero said sure and then Romero asked me for my landline home telephone number. I gave it to him and he was able to bring up my account was in my mother's name but I told Romero I also have access to their Von's card. I received some really great discounts from using this Vons Club Membership Card. These items I purchased was the 4 total cans of the Campbell's Soup in Cream of Chicken and the Old Fashioned Vegetable. The price is $7.16. The next items are the 2 cans of the Signature Chicken Noodle Soup. The price is 99 cents each. The total cost was $1.98. Then I bought 2 Valentines Whitman's Assorted Milk and Dark Chocolate Candy. The price is 2 for $6.00. I also bought the one package of Nabisco Oreo Thins Cookies in the Lemon Flavored. The price is $4.49. I also bought the Russell Stovers Assorted Cremes in Milk and Dark Chocolate Candy. The price is $4.49. The Signature Blueberry Bagels, the quantity is 6 total bagels. The price is $2.29. The total cost of these 15 items is $30.91. I also bought the 4 pack of the G2 Gel Roller Type Black Ink Pens. The price is $8.99. I paid for my grocery bill with my credit card account. I received excellent customer service from Romero my cashier he was very helpful and personable to me. I will come back and shop here at this Vons Market again soon. read more

EPIC FAIL! Where do I start? Three days before a family birthday, I ordered a cake online with one of their Disney designs. Day of Pickup: ME: Here to pick up the cake. VONS Head baker: What cake? Oh, that cake was supposed to be ready for pickup in two weeks. ME: Um....here is the email with confirmation for today's date. VONS Head baker: Oh, we sent an email canceling because we didn't have the design pieces. ME: There is no email. I even checked SPAM. VONS Head baker: Ummmm. well we have no cake. We can make one, but only have a couple of Disney pieces or we can scan a design. ME: You are kidding, right? Um....don't want a Marvel figurine..go with scanned design. VONS Head baker: We will take $5 off for the confusion and no charge for a scanned Disney picture on the cake. ME: (Thinking in my head they should give more than $5 but at this point party starts in two hours and I need a cake!) VONS Head baker: We need an hour to decorate, but you should have a filling. ME: I just want a single-layer 1/4 sheet marble with whipped topping. VONS Head baker: I recommend a filling because people complain that our cakes are VERY DRY. (I am not kidding....she said this!!!!) ME: I really don't want more whipped cream inside and on top. VONS Head baker: oh, it will be dry you need it. ME: (Thinking Oh crap! This is a nightmare!) Another Customer waiting for his cake: Heard our conversation and his facial reaction: priceless. Picked up his cake and checked the box to make sure it was okay and he left shaking his head that he made a mistake too. An hour later.... ME: The world's most ugly decorated cake! The Disney scanned picture was cute, but it was not put on very well. You could see that it was a picture slapped on, so one could get a cutout from a homemade printer or from a coloring book from Dollar Tree and slap it on the cake. Colors: We asked for red, yellow, and black to match Mickey Mouse's colors and instead received a dark wine burgundy border with a dark yellow mustard stripe around the center that clashed against the picture. Are they color blind, too? WTF were they thinking? Did they even think that would look appealing on a cake? Pink, blue, or green would have been better than that!! Neon or anything but those colors! OMG, Walt Disney is rolling in his grave. A couple of hours later... guests and birthday recipients were confused and puzzled by the cake colors that clashed with their offset print design...not to mention all that semi-dry cake with more whipped frosting inside and on top of the cake. No one wanted seconds...except the dog. Could have picked up a tub of cool whip and called it a day with what VONS was trying to conceal. Never in my life will any one of us order a cake from VONS or pick up anything they made in their bakery aisle. What was worse was all the lies from the head baker as to why the order was not there...but at least she told one truth .. their cakes are DRY. read more

Disabled people be aware!! Vons lets fake service dogs do whatever in their store. I usually like this store. BUT one day I was shopping with my seizure alert dog and one of the persons who works there let her pet husky dog run up to my dog and then a boston terrier tried to come at my dog four different times growling and barking. the human had to pick up their dog and quickly go away to get it to stop. Twice was in front of people who work at Vons. Then that same boston was checking out next to us and the store leader with long red hair was talking to the dog while the owner was holding the dog( not a service dog thing). When I spoke to the leader to voice my concerns she denied talking to the dog and told me that she couldn't ask if the dog was a service dog. . So she is in a leadership roll and doesn't know the rules/laws. Yes you can ask if it's a service dog and what does it do for the person. And if the dog is not acting like a service dog you need to ask the person to take their dog out of the store. read more

The presumable manager on nights at this location is rather rude and not very helpful. I had 4 items. One of which was a bag of shrimp listed at 17.98 for the bag. I was charged 27.00. I guess she thought I was trying to get the 5 dollar Friday deal. So instead of trying to correct the price she asked me if I wanted to return it, which is already embarrassing... you better believe I said I wanted to return it. I even showed her the photo of the listed price and there was absolutely NO recourse. So I, along with the 6 other people in line in addition to the debate over the price of a 2lb bag of shrimp waited for her to finish the refund transaction. She spoke to me in a way that made me feel like it was MY fault for not reading the advertised price correctly. Absolute worst customer service in addition to a poorly stocked location. I have been using this VONS for 20 years. Today, wearing a facemask to prevent getting coronavirus I stood back from the register so as to not block the crossing aisle that intersects the product aisles. I let people pass in front of me while the line slowly got shorter. One man walks up, tries to stand in front of me. I reminded him I am next. He look confused for some reason. Then an employee came along, with the same confused look. I repeated myself three times v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y that I was 'l-e-t-t-i-n-g p-e-o-p-l-e g-o b-y." This got another confused expression. I then repeated myself even s-l-o-w-e-r and LOUDER. The employee acted offended or alarmed, or what I don't know. I just want to tell you that allowing people to use the aisle in front of you - and not willfully blocking them is not a bizarre action to take. I hope some of you can understand that without me having to hold a 1st grade class on common sense and comprehension of the English language. I wanted to take a moment to review the bakery here, specifically to shout-out Amanda, who completely went above and beyond making my sister's Halloween-themed birthday cake. First, when I went to place my order on Friday, she came over and even though it was the end of her shift, happily took time to take my order down. Then, when I came to pick it up on Sunday, she recognized me and rushed over excitedly to show me. The cake was perfect. She had even remembered that I said my sister doesn't like spiders or spider webs! It was so adorable, really gorgeous, well-crafted, fun, and delicious! I am a new uber eats driver and recently started picking up orders from this store. The woman that works with the uber drivers is so terrible. She is condescending, she is incredibly aggressive...like she throws cases of soda around so you'll move faster. CASES. OF SODA. I am polite and soft spoken and she is still awful to me. She isn't helpful, I get incredibly stressed when I have to go to this location for an order, and I want everyone that places orders with uber eats to please use a different location if you can, as this woman is degrading your drivers. This Vons seems to be very clean, has a large fresh fruit & vegetable area. In fact, I found Shishito Peppers here!
