**COVID-19** I went in 4/19 and was approached by two staff as if I was some thug because I wasn't wearing a mask. The staff told me put on a mask or they were calling the police because mask were CDC mandatory. That is WRONG! They are recommended. Vons is making them mandatory. Ok, fine. Needs more employees to tend to quests - I waited at the deli to get a quarter pound of turkey and it took 45 minutes to be tended to after standing there and asking two different employees if someone can help me and told me the guy in the pre made food area would be with me after the line kept forming in front of me at the other section. Either train employees to work multiple stations or hire more employees. My aunt mentioned "that's how it always is takes forever" and I found it extremely rude. I will never again try their delivery service. First, I received a text this morning that my order was canceled due to a restaurant. So had to spend time on chat to make sure it wasn't canceled it was just that Vons decided to deliver the order instead of Doordash. Then, the order was delivered a half hour late and I only received 2 items!!!!!!! So frustrating. So spend more time with the shopper at vons, Chris, who was the only helpful person. He was awesome. Recently tried their delivery service as I had an injury and was unable to get to the store. Vons charges your card the full amount of the original order and then when the person goes to pick out the items and doesn't find them, we are left to fight for the money that was charged. Have spoken with customer service 3 times trying to get my money back. 3 people 2 different answers. I will not be using this service again and I warn others not to use it as well. This is the third delivery in a row in which items have not been delivered with my order. The last two times it happened over half our items were missing. This time we were missing about eight things. I called the store directly and they admitted they left bags behind when they gave them to the door Dash driver. I am extremely frustrated that I have to spend additional time on the phone to rectify these issues. It's also frustrating not to have My items delivered. We never had any issues when Vons drivers were delivering. The issues have arisen since door Dash took over. The woman I spoke to on the phone today said they are having issues with drivers taking groceries. This is completely unacceptable. The most I was offered for our trouble was a $10 refund. As a long-term Vons customer and someone who has spent thousands of dollars with you this is extremely disappointing. You have lost a customer. read more

The grocery delivery here is horrible! I ordered yesterday and had a four hour delivery window (6pm-10pm). Groceries never came. I waited up till 11pm for possible rain delays then gave up. I never received a phone call advising me of any delay or problems. I called the 800 number the next morning (it is only operational till 9pm) and after being on hold for literally 24 minutes (call time was 26 minutes and spoke with a human for 2 minutes tops). I am told that a worker didn't show up for work so orders were affected. She then offers to check to see if mine was one of those. I tell her, "Ummm, considering we didn't get our groceries I'm pretty sure we are." She then confirms this. My irritation is no phone call, no email telling the customer of the delay. If someone doesn't show up for work they have to know that it's going to mess up orders. So how about calling people and reschedule their orders and respect their time. Nope! Vons just decided to tell me nothing and outright cancel my order! They just decided to not deliver my grocery order. I was told I could resubmit it (have to wait hours again) because of their problems! I know grocery delivery is a luxury. I enjoyed using it time to time being the mom of a special needs toddler and an infant. But this ended up causing more stress than just going to the grocery store with them. Bad first impression. Did my weekly grocery shopping there today and spent $175. Probably won't be back unless I'm desperate. I know Fraiser Farms is further out but Vons can't compete. I paid $30 more for a similar grocery list at Vons than I did at FF. Fresher food, better prices (and FF is a health food store) and happier employees. But I digress. Let's talk about Vons... Pros: -They sell 'food' -Fast baggers -Clean store -Starbucks inside (I don't see it as a pro but recognize that some do.) Cons: -1/4 of the food I picked up off the shelf was expired. (Including raw chicken and milk) Check those expiration dates before you buy because the employees certainly aren't doing it. -Deli was slow. We were the only ones there. Deli girl seemed confused. Incapable of slicing deli meat at a reasonable price. She sliced much more than we asked for. - Bagging was really bad. They were fast but they sucked at it. When we got back to the car with our groceries, we were able to combine and remove at least 3 bags. One bag had one small pretzel bag in it. Another had 1 cereal box. Admittedly I was juggling a sick child and didn't notice the bagger. I apologize for saying the bagging sucked if he was a disabled person. - Prices are way too high. I could directly compare prices for nearly all other stores and Vons would be at the highest. Unfortunately, I saw no benefit to the higher prices. - Why are grocery stores still doing membership cards to get the sale price? They gave me a card on the spot so I was able to get the sale prices, but why have them at all? Just another unnecessary step during checkout and another card to keep track of. If there are additional benefits, the checker made absolutely no effort to clue me in. read more

I won't bore you with the entire list, but I had to toss mold covered bagels, a large size container of cherry tomatoes and romaine lettuce just to name a few items within 24 hours of getting my groceries... Won't do this again... I work to hard for my money and the convenience of delivery becomes a huge inconvenience when you go to make dinner and what you plan on fixing is rotten or bad. read more

For such a nice store you'd think they'd have nice bathrooms... Not so much. Hookers would hang out in these restrooms. And they're DIRTY! Ugh. If I could do 2.5 stars I would. Deli/ meat counter people aren't very helpful and I once waited 15 minutes for someone to check and see if they had any more dozen egg cartons in the back! Cashiers are pretty snotty sometimes. My go-to neighborhood grocer, bakery and pharmacy. Like anywhere else, you have to compare prices and shop for deals. I always buy my birthday cakes there. They have a nice cake catalog to chose from. I suggest calling in advance to be sure that they have the toppers you want. The store layout is good once you get inside, but I wish they had their front doors in the front like most grocery stores, with a front sidewalk and parking for handicapped right in the front. It would seem safer. I don't like going in the sides. The parking lot could be designed better, making better use of the parking lot space, and increasing accessibility. read more

For my Grocery Shopping needs, this Vons gets about 95% percent of my business. I do most of my grocery shopping here and the other little bit of it at Trader Joe's. It's close to my house, convenient and well stocked. I go at all times of the day, except between 1AM and 6AM when they're closed. I would have given it 5 stars but I'm upset that all my favorite checkers are being shipped off to other Vons locations. OK to stop buy. Has a great little Starbucks station that is always friendly. Deli service keeps it from becoming our store. They sell sandwiches. They take up to 10 minutes to make one $5 sandwich. All staff were on sandwiches when I was there. No one serviced the deli. I have been there when they have one counter person with 20 minutes of sandwich orders, meaning a couple people. Unlike Subway, they have no system for making sandwiches. Each one is a series of step requiring opening drawers, opening containers, going in the back, trying to understand the unique characteristics of this turkey sandwich. The area near the deli looks great. The rest is standard. They are limited in what they carry, in particular lacking the healthy part of product lines. It's the Vons closest to our house, so we go there often, and know many of the employees. All the cashiers are friendly along with most of the employees. Have had a few problems, but manager has always resolved it. The just4u deals and the gas rewards are excellent benefits. read more

This is my day to day grocery store! It has everything from good produce, great beer and wine selection and a pharmacy! I love that this is store has such a wide variety of Local beers! My experience has been that the employees at the meat/deli/seafood counters are missing often or in the back. I'm never impressed with there meat, admittedly a little picky about my meats. Prices here are always pretty good, selection is ok but I still have to pop over to sprouts every grocery trip. Every time I go on a Sunday many things are empty so maybe another day is better. Staff are nice - front. Some grocery (newer employees), younger, are not - perhaps they should work in the back as they are not social or wanting to help public at all. The womens bathroom is something that needs to have a camera and a security guard at as EACH time I go to use it - only when in DIRE STRAITS .. It smells of feces, sometimes smeared on walls or toilet, gang taggings, trash everywhere, mirror scratched out in portions. i will add photos of many sep occassions if ness. This is absolutly discusting and homeless people use to "bath in" for x amounts of hours as I know and employees (misc.), have told me. I have to wash all my clothes and don't dare touch anything in there if you absolutely must use it. After all these years - 8????? This Vons is notorious for selling expired foods of all kinds, and I've had to learn the hard way. It seems as if the night crew have completely stopped checking expiration dates. I brought products back to the store this evening for a refund and I just realized I have even more expired goods from my grocery run yesterday, so I'll have to go back again tomorrow for more refunds. And we're not talking a couple days expired. We're talking November 2016 when it's now January 2017. Absolutely unacceptable. This isn't the first time it's happened, either. Since we live close to the College Blvd Vons, we stop there about 4 to 5 times per week. Their produce, bakery, & flowers are great (sad to say, their deli isn't good-very distasteful "old" stuff that should be thrown out) 2 problems: 1.) They are always out of handi wipes by the entry doors-this is a real petty thing, but they never take it to heart. Just today I told 1 of the checkers and another lady supervisor that they were out & every time I mention it, nobody takes care of it; sure enough: when I left the store 20 minutes later, they were still out. 2.) They wait forever before calling additional checkers-you can find employees in the Starbucks area visiting, yet there are 2 check stands with 5 to 6 people waiting in each line. It's as if nobody is managing this place. However, they do keep the place clean and tidy. We go to sprouts more often now, it's the same distance from us as Von's & their prices are way cheaper (e.g. today, roma tomatoes @ Von's were $1.99 per pound; Sprouts: .69 per pound; swordfish @ Von's was $11.99, at Sprouts was $7.99 & looked way better) read more
