I was very sceptical about getting nails done, I've been to so many salons and so disappointed. After reading the reviews on this app, I went into the salon, and spoke with the girl at the counter. She showed me her nails, and reassured me that I'd be very satisfied, her nails were very beautiful. I showed her a picture of what I wanted done, coffin shaped French white tip with pink nail bed, I was seated with a girl that's been there for four years, her name is Anna. Went here to get a new set of nails and a pedicure done. The bottom of my foot is red and swollen, and my nails are uneven i wish i had known that prior to paying $127. If it wasn't for them providing pricing i would of paid $160. My mom who only ever gets pedicures booked the appt and they made her feel like an idiot because she said pedi and mani instead of a new nail set. They then told us that they would try to get it done but they were really busy and my mom felt the need to continuously apologize for her error. My nail tech was also prepping for a colonoscopy well doing my nails, I've done the prep before and it's horrible she should of been at home prepping then doing nails. I did not see them pull the tools out of any sanitize packaging that said the tools had been clean properly. Will never be returning read more

After seeing the reviews and pictures of nails done by the techs at this nail salon I decided to give it a try. ......NEVER AGAIN! I was charged $65 for a basic acrylic nail fill. It took my nail tech literally 20 minutes to slop together the crappiest, thickest most unnatural looking nails I have ever had in my life not to mention they lifted within 24 hours. All of them! I have given this salon 3 separate tries and after today I will never go back! If you are picky about how your nails are done or if you like to have a say in what they look like without being afraid to speak I would NOT recommend you go to this salon. Today I was almost in tears, I have left with streaky gel on my nails and lumps under the top coat because she was angry with me and tried to get it done as quickly as she could. I should go back and have them fixed yet I am afraid to as they will all jabber in their first language about me. Because of this fear I now have to go to another salon and get another fill and spend another $50 of my hard earned money as a single mom to have these nails fixed and I am extremely upset. As a consumer we have EVERY right to want the services we PAY for to be good however this is not possible at Elegance. The owner needs to learn what customer service is all about because she doesn't care about who walks in that door, she only cares about the money your handing over to pay for a horrible job done to your nails. read more

I've been here loads of times and usually have a wonderful experience. For instance, I was here just before Christmas and got a gorgeous set of nails done for $50. Now I went back last week for a fill and they tried to charge me $55. This makes no sense. I got into a heated discussion where I was insulted a number of times. Eventually we settled on a basic full for $30 and they continued to criticize me. In short, despite the wonderful service and quality I have had so many times in the past I will not be going back, nor could I recommend to anyone. read more

After 5 tries I am officially giving up on going to this nail salon. The service seems ok and everyone working there is friendly enough but I am always disappointed in the finished product. Last time I was in for a gel polish change they shaped my nails but they were all different sizes, you could see broken nail bits on the side and none of the nails looked even or like the one next to it. I ended up having to do home and re-file and paint all of them. Each time I have come in I am disappointed by the finished look as it's not even or symmetrical. The last time they were filing down my actual nail before applying polish and when I pointed out it was painful/hot this said it suck it up for a few more minutes then laughed at me for flinching in pain. Not impressed. I tried this place a few years ago and wasn't happy with the quality of work or service and when I couldn't get an appt at my regular salon I thought I would give this place another shot. Should have waited for an opening at my regular salon. I asked that my shellac not be removed with a grinder. Nope, apparently that us the ONLY way to remove shellac. Couldn't do an acetone wrap and gently scrap. It may not be any better for your nails but it's my preference. And the don't take credit cards so unless you tend to walk around with a wad of cash in your pocket, and know their prices and don't have anything extra done, then it's convenient. Otherwise, not so much. It was an unpleasant experience 3 yrs ago and it was again three weeks ago. I understand why they were able to fit me in so quickly...lots of empty chairs. read more

Absolutely a disappointing experience - the colours are not true to the selection display. I was told once they were painted that they would darken on there own. I can see my nail through the red shellac - not good. I was told it would be 18$ when I came in, and when I went to pay it was actually 29$. The English was so bad I couldn't understand why the difference, and gave up - but not before she told me I "aww cant afford it, go to another place" I know we're just talking about nail polish here - but it's money not worth spending. read more

I've gone to numerous nail salons trying to find a rose gold chrome that I love and only Elegance nail & spa could match the color I had on! They didn't limit me to the options they had showcased. They are very open to trying new things and making the customer happy.. and I was a very happy customer leaving the salon! The only down fall was the chrome started to chip within a week and a half of having my nails done but I called and they said they'll fix it free of charge this weekend! They honor their work and ensure the customer is pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quality nail salon in the south!! read more

Don't bother. I wrote a review about a month ago when I got my gel nails put on and I thought the girl that did them was great but the girl that did my friend's manicure didn't give her anything that she wanted and my friend said it was dirty and they used no name products and treated a family member that was getting the same thing done which was right next to her way better than her. After I wrote the review, I got called and harassed by the owner for saying they weren't as bad as I wrote and would not let me hang up until they made their point and until I took my review down. So unprofessional and rude. Fast forward 1 month later, I have to get my nails filled again and now I see all the errors the girl made, actually damaging my nail and digging into it, leaving a nasty red mark on a bunch of nails and the gel wasn't cleaned up properly. I'm going somewhere else to fill my nails. My experience here was awful. read more

Extremely disappointed and would never come back there again!!! Terrible service and extremely unhealthy atmosphere in the salon. Instead of make you relaxed and comfortable they just discussing you in front of your face in their language. There are maybe 1 or 2 nail technicians out of 6 that know what they are doing, and all of the good ones keep quitting. Reception women that I believe is actual owner of this place is rude and very unwelcoming with very bitchy attitude. I've been there a few times and finally decided to experiment and brought my friend that understands Vietnamese language, and guess ladies what !?! as I assumed they rudely discussing their clients ( in their language of course) our bad tastes on nail styles etc. All in all saying Yes! they are talking about us while we are paying them a good money, as prices are quiet high over there!!! These people quote a price for a fill $20, went in with one cracked nail they first asked if I wanted it glued!! I said no, new tip. They then proceed to tell me $20 for fill, $5 for the new nail tip AND $15 for the powder for the new tip as mine are not short!!! I have had acrylic nails for over 20 years and have NEVER had that type of gouge done to me - needless to say there are far to many GOOD salons to go to that don't take advantage of their customers when they are not busy. This place has absolutely horrendous customer service! I kept calling the business during regular hours and it would ring once then beep. No one would pick up. As a result, I ask my girlfriend to call and book an appointment on my behalf for 5:45 pm. Upon arrival the owner told me that she didn't have anyone available even though my girlfriend specifically booked the appointment which I saw in the owners appointment book. I drove all the way from Airdrie for this appointment (50km). The owner is unprofessional and rude. As a result I would recommend that customers no longer support this business based on their lack of customer service and ignorance. read more

Was just at this "salon" on Friday with ladies from the office. Half of us got manicures and the rest of them received pedicures. My manicure took a whopping total of 15 minutes for a spa manicure. I soaked my fingers in water, I never had my cuticles removed, didn't have my nails buffed or shaped. All of us left this "salon" very very disappointed. Save yourself from frustration and don't book this salon. Rip off! read more

This was the worst place I have ever been too! I had booked my appointment in advance and arrived on time. I had specified that I wanted a regular french manicure. They pressured me on the shellac nails and I had to repeatly tell them NO. It was very busy and crowded in the premises. It seemed that the nail tech was rushed and I was passed onto 3 different people in the short time I was there, probably no more than 15 to 20 minutes. I asked the nail tech to keep my nails at a medium length and she cut them very short. Two days and the polish looked terrible, I have soaked my fingertips repeatly in acetone to remove the polish and it is done horrible damage to my nails and cuticles. I have no clue what kind of polish they used?! I would not recommend this place at all if you are looking for a regular manicure. read more

My first visit was for a pedicure which I felt was very rushed and disappointing. I gave it a second chance because I really needed a fill for my gel nails and the location is convenient. Kim was very patient and didn't seem to mind when I told her I wanted to change the color even after she had already started applying it. I appreciate how she made the gel thin enough so that it won't look so noticeable and uneven when my nail starts growing out as some nail salons are horrible with this! My only complaint regarding my second visit is that $55 is a little pricey for a fill. read more

Usually this place is always so great but today I am very disappointed. My nail lady today was "Anna" and she did a terrible job. I asked for a fill for my gel nails and asked for my nails to be short and to have a good amount of white tip. By the time she was finished I looked at my nails and not only were they LONG but the white tips on the end of my nails were a little line. There was also indents in my nails and they feel bumpy and messy. I said something to Anna about how I did not like them and she proceeded to talk about how it's going to be extra because I kept my nails on for over 4 weeks? First off, what does that have to do with me not liking my nails? And second off, why does it matter how long I've had my previous nails on? Maybe I haven't had them on longer for four weeks, maybe my nails just grow very fast! I tried to tell her again but she just did not understand what I was saying at all and being very rude. I started going to elegance nails a couple months ago and though they are more expensive and try to charge you for ridiculous stuff (like 5& a nail for an extra coat or of polish) they always did a decent job. Decent enough for me to come back anyways. I'm very picky with my nails and if I am going to pay for them they better turn out to my satisfaction. However the last couple of times I went they were aweful. I got a pedicure with my friend and they didn't even do my cuticles and shape my toes and they were massaging (more like tormenting) my leg I had to ask him to please stop because it hurt so badly. My shellac French pedi was yellow? And then my nails which were okay had cracks in them which allowed dirt in so after 1 week my tips were grey with dirt. I decided I'd give them one more shot I went for a fill and got new SHELLAC POLISH which peeled off 2 nails in the shower ? Never have I ever had that happen before after just 3 days. So o went and they fixed it, fair enough, I had a whole bunch of little chips around the corners which I mentioned and the guy just shrugged. I asked why they would chip like that and he shrugged again, no real answer and then 2 days after I get them fixed the polish begins to peel off 4 of my nails. 2 weeks later and I have 12 chips in total and 5 where the polish has peeled off. You'd expect better quality for the price. I won't be back and I'm on the hunt for a new place. read more

Super disappointed! Pedicure and manicure in under an hour. Both were rushed. I said "Ow" a number of times during the pedicure as she slapped the grater (not sure what they call it but it looks like a cheese grater) to my foot over and over again. The polish was thick and bumpy in spots, missing in others...yes, she didn't paint the entire nail. And when I mentioned it, I git the heavy sigh and eye-roll. But she didn't remove and start again, she just painted over it, making it thicker and bumpier. My manicure was much the same. So thick that I had the infamous "thick polish" bubbles which inevitably chipped in a few days. I used to go here all the time but not any more. read more

I wish there was a 0 star. I have gone to this salon a few times, and every time I go I swear I will not go back again... This time was the final straw. Today my girlfriend and I went, we were getting our gel polish removed and getting regular polish put back on. The uncomfortable, rushed service started now. The two ladies surrounded us while we were trying to pick out our colors, "are you ready, did you pick a color?". No. I am not ready. I have not picked out a color. Else I wouldn't still be standing here, looking at this wall of nail polish. They make you sign a piece of paper stating your total cost, likely because they have so many complaints and walk outs. Then, I was forced to pay BEFORE my service was even completed. The manicure was extremely rushed, she didn't allow the polish to dry in between coats. Leaving the polish super un even and veiny. Not even a minute after she was finished with the top coat I was abruptly asked to go sit by the front door. There was no one behind me, and no reason I should have been moved to the small uncomfortable seat by the freezing cold door. Not to mention the ring leader, boss lady, sat at the front with her smug smile on staring at me and making the entire experience uncomfortable. this place is over priced, the owner Hanna is not at all about quality it is about how much she can charge each client as it is more in the cash register for her. customer services is horrible they speak another language yelling across the salon. that is uncomfortable and rude. I was there recently, 2 different ladies had complaints about services they had done. the one owner told her sorry we can't help you. then the other girl a tech started her nails and the client asked why she was being charged extra on top of her fill. it turned out the girl had not asked what kind of fill she wanted. so the lady was told that they could not fix her nails if she wanted rebook. really???. then I am charged a ridiculous amount of money when I wanted a fill and shellac. they charged me for new set and another 18 for shellac and then something else for nail removal when they didn't remove all my nail. I told the owner Hanna I thought it was to much that I wouldn't be coming back, and she thanked me for not going back. she is very rude and will not help out her clients when her staff screw up. stay away far away from this one read more

Horrible place... Should have realized when I walked in and saw all the tacky handwritten signs all over the place?! They rush you from the moment u walk in the door! Pick color, sit here, gimme this / that , now go there ?! I didn't like the look of the tools , sponges , worn brushes etc in the baskets either ? Even though they have a poster on the wall stating cleanliness was #1?? I called made an appointment, asked for a spa pedicure with paraffin and a manicure ... They have all the nail/manicure stations all in a line and the pedicure stations opposite . All are so cramped together u almost touch elbows with the person next to you! After she took my polish off my toes at the manicure station ? She just pointed to the pedicure station behind me .. Go there ... I have never seen those chairs so close , pratically almost sat in the lap of a lady holding her child and step over her purse on the floor as they have no where else for u to put it cause of the crammed quarters?! Well finally got in the chair and put my feet into soak and the woman was already pointing for my foot after not even 10 seconds ... She wouldn't even give me time to adjust the chair settings?! I love those massage chairs ... Well theirs don't work ?! I could barely get the chair to adjust forward or recline .. The massage mechanism would stop after 1 min? The person working there could careless , she could see I was struggling but was already pointing to do my other foot ! I could go on and on but this is getting too long ... The so called "spa" pedicure was the fastest one I have had in my life ... I have had lots and not fancy spas either. Then she whisked me back to manicure station and hadn't even painted my toe nails? This is the part where I was supposed to be a contortionist?! She put two worn small glass bowls out with clear strong smelling liquid ( pure acetone ) at the bottom of them .. Soak hand nails in there ... Then put the light on underneath the manicure table that I had my feet on and then grabbed my foot and lifted it onto her knee to paint my toes, then told me to put toes under light while she went for the other foot and I was slipping on the uncomfortable chair with wheels , while still soaking my hand nails ?!! Talk about multi tasking and rushing while making the client very uncomfortable!? I was paying for a nice relaxing experience which turned out to be a rushed , uncomfortable, worrying what the hell I did one ! The icing on the cake was the paraffin ... She heated it up so scalding hot !! I was lucky to have skin left on my foot! It is already too late once they put your foot in it?! I had to tell her no way .. So she thought blowing on it would make it better?? After the paraffin I was done even though there was still lots of it on my feet ! I lifted to check the bottom of one foot and got it all over my black pants !? That was it ! So done! The lady at the front was trying to rush me to pay ... I lost it said hang on here enough rushing !! I complained the whole experience was rushed but most importantly told them they have to be more careful with the temp of paraffin.. Said my feet were really sore and red ... So she gets her phone out and wants to take pictures of my feet! Then she told me the girl took a long time on me ... Really ?! Then when I showed the paraffin on my pants they said it was my fault cause I put my foot up there ?! Uhhh ... Ok ... Guess I was supposed to walk out with paraffin still stuck all over my feet! So they took the $15 paraffin charge off ... I still paid $93 for a horrible experience!! Told them I would never be back ... This place should be shutdown !! read more

If I could give NO stars I would. One of the worst experience I've EVER had. I am embarrassed I took my mother in law here to get our nails done for a party on the weekend. It started off with an extra $10 charge to remove shellac polish on my toes (with a dremel, not even the $1 expense of tin foil, cotton balls and acetone). Next we received a 16 minute very rough, silent, anger felt massage pedicure. Then polish was poorly applied; thick and smothered on. At the end when we could take no more we commented to the one nice face in there on how disappointed we were with our pedicures.She offered to redo it which at that point was the last thing we wanted as we were already upset. Then the manager came over and yelled at the poor girl. Hands down the worst experience I've had yet in a salon, and I once witnessed a mouse eating foot shavings. Clearly the female manager has no knowledge of how to treat her staff as they all seem hostile and upset. I did not understand the dialect they only spoke in front of us but I can only assume parts of their conversation were about us and more then likely the sweat shop like environment they work in.
