Lovely nails was recommended to me by a friend who really looks after herself and is quite picky with regards to quality and service. The ladies at Lovely nails are really nice, know what they are doing, and the owner, Nancy, cares about her business and clients a lot. The service is always above the expectations, when I needed to get my nails done urgently before a wedding on the evening I had to work late, I phoned three other places, two of which were closed and one was booked. When I called Nancy, she got me in 30 min before closing and when I asked her that I wanted gel nails with a design and pedicure she stayed past closing time to make sure I was ready for the wedding and in her words, she made my nails "lovely!". I've visited this location once, and I will be back. I'm terrible about making appointments - I tend to spontaneously decide that I suddenly need a mani-pedi at the last moment. They were great at fitting me in about 2 hours after I dropped by to inquire. They were attentive enough, did a good job and the paint lasted for quite a while. I saw Yelp reviews of this place and considering it is really close to where I live, decided to give a try out. It is really value for money kind of place! LOVE IT! I got my mani-pedi done for $40 and it lasted for good 45 minutes! Lots of colors and lovely ladies. The lady doing my nails had difficulty with English but there were others to help. Ladies here really care about their customers. I didn't get a shellac but will do next time. Lots of customers got shellac which is just $20 extra for hands and feet each. The prices are great, whih is one of the biggest factor for me, but the service I got was incredible too. Buffing, scrubbing, massage, soaking , filing, and on top of it they had massage chairs!!! Overall ok. A bit rushed. Got a mani pedi. I think my girl specifically wasn't great - others looked to be more thorough. Massage was quick and rushed. Didn't know about all the polishes in the place so I thought it was lacking at first. Great massage chairs. Price point is decent. I moved back to Calgary after living in Houston for several years and needed a new regular nail salon. After a year of trying different places with ok results I tried Lovely Nails. The first visit was exactly what I wanted and I was sold. I've been coming regularly for about a year. Service is better than any other place I've been to and the owner (Nancy) sincerely cares that you are happy and satisfied with whatever service you get. Lately I've been getting different nail art designs and I love them. Wide range of polish colours, huge shellac choices and they have tons of different colours for the acrylic nails. Great place for nails but, oh my goodness, the worst ventilation ever!!! The door was wide open last night and it wasn't a warm evening or anything. The chemical smell is headache-inducing so if you're particularly sensitive to smells, you've been warned. I knocked off one star for that (maybe it deserved more? but i love the nails too much). This place is constantly busy. The owner is delightful and the massage chairs for pedicures are fabulous. Fast, friendly service. I would return...possibly with a gas mask. read more

was at lovely nails just yesterday and made decision to get nails done in 5 different colors...for sum fun...for summer...so have almost a neon pink pinkie finger and def a neon green for ring finger and neon orange for tall or middle or that finger finger and nice purple for pointer finger and thumb is a neon yellow... always get owner Nancy to do my nails and she is great...always so positive and up and pleasant and polite and eager to accommodate my needs even if its a drop in...and have even enjoyed visiting bar next door to her shop a time or two... no qualms to recommend this salon to anyone! men need manis and pedis too imho! read more

I am often all of a sudden in need of "self care"...as in wanting a mani or pedi...as well. I popped in to this salon one sunday afternoon and was given "ok" service. I had some difficulty with their debit card machine and gave a 400% tip! So I was given a gift certificate for the amount of the error. I didnt want a g/c but a refund. I left rather annoyed. I have since returned to the salon to use up the g/c and found the service to be top notch! The solar nails I have had because of staff's suggestions last much longer and stay much whiter (I am in a tanning bed often). I would definitely recommend popping in to visit them!!! read more

Worst place ever!! $170 for 2 sets of nails. That's ridiculous! My girlfriend and her friend went there and got plain black nails done. Not very well either. You can see air bubbles in all her nails. I would not recommend this nail salon. Over 80$ each?? Rip off read more

Pros - Took my last minute reservation, and were very accommodating (I got stuck in traffic and arrived half an hour late) - Friendly service and friendly staff Cons - I felt it was a bit pricey for the service I received. I got a shellac mani and pedi, and with tip it came to just over $100 - The shellac polish they had wasn't the best quality. For example, I chose a hot pink for my pedicure, and the girl had to put on 4 coats just to have the colour begin to show up. I also chose a soft pink for my fingernails, and it didn't look great on (although, that's my fault) - The shellac mani started chipping a couple days in, usually it last a couple weeks Overall it's a good place if you're looking for a quick place that will take walk-ins, but I found it to be too expensive for the services, and I probably wouldn't go back. read more

This place is quite busy and appears to have returning clientele, so perhaps my less than stellar experience was an isolated incident. I came in for a regular manicure -just looking to even out my nails, push back my cuticles and get a fresh colour, nothing too intense. My father came with me to get a quick men's mani/pedi. My nails were only filed down a bit to shorten them when I definitely needed more of a buffing because some of my nail layers were peeling. Because this wasn't done, most of my colour flaked within a day. I'm not sure about the quality of the top coat used either since my colour didn't seem to lock in very well. Once my father's pedi was done we sat there for a bit. His scheduled manicure was forgotten about. When we reminded the staff, his mani was done very quickly and we weren't told if he was finished or not. So, again, we sat. Finally asking if his experience was over and if we could go. In general, I felt that because we weren't getting gel or shellac nails and just very basic mani/pedis, we weren't really held in very high regard. The work seemed very rushed and careless. Having said that, Lovely Nails rates are very cheap so maybe I shouldn't have expected more than a quick coat of polish. read more

i got my nails done here a week ago. i got a new set of acrylic nails. firstly the women glued on the fake nails crooked. then when cutting the nail into the coffin shape she made all my nails look different and wack af. she then proceeded to cut me and make my cuticles bleed. she didn't bother to use any cleaning solution on it. when applying the acrylic gel, she made a few of my nails bumpy and didn't bring the gel to the sides of my nail. i complained to her but she spoke in her language and didn't bother to address the issue. she also made the mistake by not putting enough coats of nail polish on my nails and they are transparent in lighting. unhappy with my nails, i paid $64!! absolutely recidivous. I've paid much cheaper for a better set of nails before at a different nail salon. after one week of getting these awful nails, i was folding laundry when i noticed a small blue thing on the floor. i picked it up and saw it was my nail!! i didn't even realize it fell off. what an absolute rip off. she couldn't even glue on the plastic nails properly and that's her job. Been going here for years. As far back as when Nancy bought the business from someone else. So about 10-12 years approximately. Have had no problems until after this world wide named pandemic. I walked in to my appointment and she hands me a box of masks. I said no thanks and she said you have to.... followed by me saying no I don't because it's not mandatory. Then 2 cows sitting at the pedicure chairs just had to give their unwanted input and piss me off further. So I left. I will say Nancy is good and talented, however I was use to her and looked past the flaws that others have mentioned to me....for example the cuticle tool she uses is not sanitized, she pulls it out of its little baggie and uses it on you after how many others she's used it on. Once one of the girls pulls out a toe separator for the pedicure from her salon coat she wears and was about to use it on my toes and it wasn't in a fresh wrapper. So I obviously said something. I noticed that others have said price always changes and it does yes. You ask for something extra on just one nail and it's always $5 or $10 more. Again.... I've been going there for 10+ years! Goodness. Just show a little appreciation and I've recommended others there too. read more

Decided to try this place after reading yelp reviews- as it seemed have great reviews and is close to my house. We are extremely disappointed after reading such good reviews on this place. We had called ahead of time and they said they could fit us in and no appointment was necessary. However shortly after arriving customers who had made appointments showed up and they were the technician's priority. If they did not have the time they should have just said so, we really would have been okay with that. Instead they just rushed through our nails making them look terrible!!! Our appointments were less than 30 minutes- all other salons we have been too they are anywhere from 45-60 minutes. The acrylic does not fully cover the entire tip that was applied, the top coat was not put on evenly- bubbles of it everywhere (had mentioned this and it was of no concern to them), filed the nails too much on the corners and sides that half is missing. They look terrible and feel like they could break at any moment!! Their nails are not good quality and they presented with poor customer service. Will never recommend this place to anyone! read more

Employees do not speak english, service is rushed, they do extra things without first asking and then charge you in the end. Employees also dont listen: ie: I asked to have my nails sanded down to look thin and natural and was told they will not do it because if they break they dont want to have to fix them again. ********PLEASE READ REGARDING "LOVELY NAILS"****** Honestly, the worst service I've ever had. I had to go back numerous times within 1 MONTH to fix and re-do my acrylic nails. In the end I just wanted them removed so I could go to another salon. She charged me once again to get them removed. $15 to do that, and then when I politely and quietly asked (as to not let other customers hear) I asked the owner, "since I've been in here 3 time in less than a month because of the estheticians mistake, I shouldn't have to pay to get them removed after everything that's happened." She literally yelled at me in front of her 3 other customers, said I was lying and that I never gave her a tip, and that I had never spend 102$ and believe me, I did. I ended up in tears walking out. I spend all together $102 in less than 1 month. got them done for my birthday may 12th, went through 3 DIFFERENT SETS. First set I had was acrylic was $61, gave 10 dollar tip, and had to get them fixed the very next day because they rushed me out and my nails didn't dry, re-did them completely. Had to go in again within less than 2 weeks. Paid another $31 for a fill. And was rushed the entire time. had 3 DIFFERENT GIRLS just to fill my nails. After 1 week of having that set, they were completely chipped at the cuticle, I assumed acrylic lasted a few weeks longer? not 1 week? Finally went in again to remove them because I was tired of having to keep going in there and getting bad service. And I wanted them to know where I was coming from. And I got yelled at and told I am a liar? I'm EXTREMLY hurt over this entire situation. Will never be going back in there, and I know about 20 other girls that will never be going back in there either. They completely lost our respect. And a lot of their clientele. read more

I have been going to Lovely Nails & Spa for few months and getting my shellac and pedicure done at this place. I chose this place because it was close to where I live and the technicians' skills were okay (Not the best). One time, I made my appointment and arrived at the shop about 5 minutes early. I requested to see a specific lady that day, and it didn't look like she was finishing her current client anytime soon. Normally, I would just sit and wait even if the nail technicians don't start on my nails at the appointment time. However, I wanted to get my nails going on time due to my other important plans later on. So I asked the lady, who seemed to be the manager of the shop, whether or not if they can actually start my nails on time today. Of course, I asked her in a friendly manner, but in return, the manager started flipping out on me and told me I need to be patient and they would start on me soon in a very rude manner. I didn't want her poor service get on my good mood, so I waited for additional 10 minutes. It was past my appointment time, and still nothing happened. I asked the manager lady again when I would be able to get in since now it was past my appointment time and all she told me was that they are busy and they can't help everybody on time, and I should just go somewhere else if I'm in rush. She said this in a VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL way that it actually hurt my feelings. I didn't do anything wrong; People make appointments for a reason. And I understand things can happen at the shop but it seems like they just don't care about each individual client at all. They seemed to have their own favorite customers and they will always favor them over certain customers and being unfair. The most important thing is, they are EXTREMELY RUDE and just don't have a simple manner and definitely don't know how to apologize for mistakes. Quite frankly, their nails techniques aren't superior either. This place is an average place that will polish your nails probably slightly better than you doing your own nails at home. It's really time for me to make the effort to drive further to somewhere else. After all, the only prime reason I picked this place was location convenience.
