Went for a Brazilian best place to get them they make you feel so comfortable 10/10 would recommend

I've been wanting to try this place out for some time now and I'm so happy that I finally made an appointment and went. The ladies that work here are amazing! I booked my appointment through their on-line system and it was beyond easy, got an email instantly and confirmed my appointment. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early and this wasn't a problem at all. I was greeted as soon as i walked in the door and was told that Kelsey would be with me shortly. The only down side is that there is only 2 chairs in the waiting area and another customer decided she needed the other chair for her purse and coat. However I didn't need to sit down to wait because Kelsey was out to greet me. She took me back and got me set up for my pedicure. She was very professional and even when I told her that my feet are ridiculously ticklish she just smiled and said not a problem. This store is extremely clean, the staff are friendly and professional and to top it all off I got to keep the bottle of nail polish! So happy that this place is close to home so I don't have to make the trek downtown anymore. Can't wait to book another appointment with these great ladies! read more

I spent an absolutely lovely Saturday morning with a girlfriend indulging in some beauty treatments, the staff were complete dolls, so friendly and welcoming. I even got a delicious apple cider tea while I waited. It's a wonder I don't spend all my money while browsing because they have so many great jewelry finds, including gems from local businesses, it's so nice to see when local businesses band together to support each other. I got a shellac manicure and love the color selections, they have every color you would want to pick and give great suggestions if you're humming and hawing over your choices. I ended up copying one of the other staff members and my manicure looked great. I highly recommend for anyone looking to treat themselves. read more

Phew! Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place! My waxer was on vacation and I needed to find a place for a Brazilian - and voila with Yelps help, I found Frilly Lilly. Going somewhere new is always scary, but you don't need to be scared here. They know exactly what they are doing. They use hard wax - which I LOVE and am so thankful for (I highly recommend hard wax to anyone looking to get a Brazilian). They're also very fast. I can say the wax wasn't painful at all, but this really is dependent on the individual. The store itself is really quite cute, tons of good buys in there. My only concern was the cost, I found it just a tad bit pricey for the quick 15 minute wax. But - you get what you pay for, so it was worth it. Just more than I'm use to. read more

My first experience at Frilly Lilly was awesome! Prior to booking a Shallac manicure, I thought Frilly Lilly only did waxing. The staff was friendly and professional. The place smelled fantastic, and was ultra clean. I will never go to another place for a manicure or a pedicure again! And who knows I might even try a wax one day ;) read more

It's such a cute location!! I love the inside of the salon. The waxing rooms could be decorated more to match maybe but I like that it's really private. The receptionist that greeted me wasn't very friendly and seemed somewhat annoyed, but wasn't rude! But Courtney did my leg waxing and was great! It was comfortable not talking, or interesting when talking! I felt like she was real with me too. I noticed there were some small spots with hairs left but really minor. I believe it took just under an hour to do my half legs? Paid and left but kind of wished they had asked me to come back or book again rather then a "k bye!" But with the online booking, its probably easier to let the clients book themselves! Because of the cleanliness I would go back!! read more

Basic service for big money. I made an appointment and none of the designs I had in mind was something they could do. She basically gave me an option of one colour or french. I picked french, not knowing it would cost even more. Not worth it for the nails. read more

Was not what I was expecting. I went in for a Brazilian which isn't out of the ordinary for me. While I was there the lady doing my waxing kept checking the clock and not paying attention to me. She was nice and talkative but the fact that she kept checking the time bothered me. Plus, after this appointment I still had leftover hair, and got ingrown hairs. If you are looking for a place that you can trust with your most personal parts this is it! I've been going to the Mackenzie location every 3-4 weeks for about a year now and am so impressed with their service. It's clean, the products are high end (which really matters when you have sensitive skin) and the staff is so genuinely friendly. The moment you walk in you feel like you are in a fun little boutique and even though you are about to get hair ripped out you look forward to the experience. Only this place and this staff can make it seem like you're treating yourself. You certainly won't regret going, or the bit higher price tag that comes along with a great quality place. read more

I had high hopes for my appointment but it all started going wrong as soon as I arrived. I checked in at reception and after saying my name the receptionist looked at the computer and then went about doing something else, she did not even acknowledge me again. My waxer was a couple of minutes late which was no big deal as the store is pretty with lots of things to see. The actual treatment room was small and not set up ideally with the bed against one wall. The woman seemed very rushed and kept going on about how busy she was and how she was running behind. I thought things had gone fairly well however as soon as I started getting dressed I realized I was still covered in wax on the back of my legs. When I get home not only did I find my clothes stuck to me I still had very obvious patches of hair on my legs. They obviously had overbooked and just rushing through my appointment and it left me with a sour taste in my mouth. read more

I had gel nails filled last week at Frilly Lilly in Mckenzie Towne. My nails were filed and drilled so much that they were bleeding and are still scratched up from it. The white tips I got are completely uneven, some are squared some rounded, some the white dripped down the nail and looks terrible. A fill that normally would take maybe 45 mins took an hour and a half. The service was horrible the girl that was doing my nals was in such a terrible mood and was so unfriendly towards everyone there, she had to fix the same nail 3 times (normally I would be ok with this) but she said finally "if I have to fix this nail one more time I'm going to cut it off' Really thats your customer service?? Even the girl next to us was in a horrible mood and so rude to everyone complaining she had a headache and was starving.. I am so unsatisfied with the quality of people that they have working there as well as the quality of their work for the price. I will never step foot in there again and I will never reccomend their services to anyone. I need to have the nails redone now and pay another $50-70 for this service elsewhere. This place shouldn't even receive 1 star. read more

Brazilians have always been excellent here so I thought I would treat myself and get my legs waxed before going on a vacation.... Bad idea. She just broke my hair off and it didn't come out at the root. Felt like razor burn and felt like I need a shave the next day.... Stick to the kootchi services here. This place was clean and Kelsey was friendly. The pedicure was terrible. My nails are not straight. I am sure I will get ingrown nails, from the way they are cut. I paid $75 to soak my feet for 25 minutes while Kelsey tended to someone else, have my nails cut too short, and have them painted. My feet do not feel awesome, nor do they look awesome and this was the biggest waste of money ever! read more

I went for a pedicure and was very disappointed. I hear their waxing and manicures are good, but get a pedi somewhere else. They don't have massage chairs, just a ledge to sit on with some fancy pillows. I went a week before I was due to have a baby and was very disappointed to not get a massage. My feet looked pretty when I was done, and the girl was nice enough but I will never go back. Very expensive for a mediocre pedicure and no massage. read more

McKenzie Towne Location - Shellac Removal & Shellac Manicure. I had 2 manicures done here by 2 different people. The first manicure I received from here was good. No problems. I had decided to try Frilly Lilly because some of the sketchier salons in the area I had frequented had questionable sanitary practices and subpar manicures. I have also tried other upscale salons but was in the hunt to find a balance between price, quality, cleanliness, proper removal of shellac and location. The cleanliness, removal process and location of this business are great. The price is a bit above average but I was willing to pay if met all the other criteria and the quality was far below average. The second manicure I received was done absolutely horribly. I have been doing shellac manicures for about a year, every 3 weeks and this by far was the worst manicure I received. The manicure looked unprofessional and uneven, too thin on some areas and too thick on others. This was a solid color manicure, the easiest of all manicures. The shellac had been painted on a good portion of my cuticles (on every finger) and therefore the shellac began peeling the same day. The shellac was so thin in the tip of the nails that you could see through it. One week after the manicure I am left with a few patches on each nail. I routinely get shellac manicures. I do not peel them or pick at them or and do what I can to extend the life of the manicure. I paid more than average to come to better salon and received a very poor manicure. I could have returned the next day for a fix but I don't like complaining or asking for free service, I just don't return. I am busy as we all are, it is hard enough to find the time once or twice a month to get a manicure let alone returning the next day to fix someone's mistake. The manicurist was obviously inexperienced and bad at painting nails and I do not believe having redone the next day would have produced a much different result. I went online to see if I could book with different manicurist at the same location (because I did like the cleanliness and location) but unfortunately there was only the one girl doing manicures for the times I was able to come in. Instead, I ordered Shellac, a UV light and all the accessories online because clearly I could do a much better job than this professional even if I didn't do a perfect job, and I would definitely be cheaper. I know we are supposed to leave shellac to the professionals but I have yet to find a SE Calgary salon that is clean, does a good job and most importantly removes shellac properly (no power tools, no reused bowls of nail polish remover to soak my hands in, no forceful scraping with metal cuticle pushers, if it is actual CND Shellac all that is needed is wrapped nails for 10 minutes and it gently scrapes right off with no or very minimal damage to the nail). I am sure (according to reviews) that this place does a very good wax but go somewhere else for your nails. I hate to say it but after many shellac manicures this was the place that finally drove me to do my own shellac manicures. read more
