My husband and I go to First Nails for pedicures and love their great staff and the skills they have! I am an RN and asked whether their instruments were sterilized between clients and was told they are. The cleanliness of the salon/ instruments and their professional acumen were deciding factors for us. I cannot attest to the quality of the manicures and fancy nails because I don't do that but we both have recommended First Nails to friends and family. read more

I have been going to First Nails for about 4 months, Lyn does my shellac manicure. They are always friendly, it seems clean and Lyn is very attentive and asks all the time how the shape of my nails are. The manicure usually last 3-4 weeks, never had a nail chip! I would recommend this nail salon, they are also very reasonable. read more

Please don't go here. They are NOT professional or even trained. I paid for my daughter and wife to go get mani/pedis and nails. They glued on the nails like a 6 year old and they had huge lumps on them and were flared out with sharp corners. I took my daughter back to get it fixed and they said, "what's the problems?" They murmur to themselves in vietmese, which is rude. I love all races, but you are here now in Canada, learn to speak the language. DONT GO HERE. read more

Okay, as you can see, these reviews are all old. As of two weeks ago, there are new owners, so forget the past reviews! I have had nails for 25 years, and just moved back to Okotoks. I decided to give them a try, after communicating on line with Amy. I have in the past had two of the best techs, and I am rather picky! Well, I wasn't disappointed! Lovely people, honest, open, professional, and very nice. The shop was immaculate, and Amy was incredibly fast, and particular, like me! I love my new nails, and will not hesitate to return! Aweful service. I can't adequately describe how bad my experience was but I can tell you I went here for a pedicure. I had made an appointment and was forced to wait 40 minutes while my gal friend got in 10 minutes after we arrived. We had made an appointment for the same time so we could catch up as socialize ( that didn't happen). When I finally got sat down my girl : 1) ran scalding hot water but had disappeared so I couldn't ask her to cool it down or soak my feet until she reappeared some 10 minutes later. 2) never gave me the massage or scrub I had paid for 3) jabbed me twice with the tools. When I told her to please be more careful she told me I should hold still and blamed it on me. 4) messed up the manicure 5) spilt a bucket of water all over the floor that once again took her away from my pedicure I paid for the full treatment and received the absolute worst service imaginable!! The only reason I paid was so not to make a scene and ruin the experience for my friend whom I never get to see. So, because of that, I have been disputing the charge with my credit card company. It's not only bad service it is dangerous to go here. I had to request autoclaved tools and I should add that as #6 complaint. My last complaint was I came in a couple of days later to speak with the owner. I pointed out the woman who gave me the poor service and they wouldn't talk in English in front of me but only Vietnamese or whatever language they speak. In the end the owner said I wouldn't get my money back but would give me a 10% discount on my next service with them. Really? I get a whole $6 off??? I had to remind her that I would never be coming back to their establishment. My next step is to contact the better business bureau. It's not just bad service. Do NOT go here! My sisters and I were looking for somewhere to catch up and relax. We saw they had 20% off mani and pedi's all January and thought we would give this place a try. We arrived on time but were made to wait with our feet in the water for an hour while our feet shriveled and our water became cold They didn't even have enough people on staff to work on all 4 of us at once and had to do one at a time. I saw that the guy didnt change or clean his tools after finishing with a client and when he came to do my pedicure I asked if he was going to clean them first. He looked at me like I was crazy and said no. Then asked if I wanted clean ones. I said yes please and he shook his head and reluctantly got clean ones...at least I think they were. My pedicure was terrible. My nails were all different shapes and the polish was clumpy and didnt even cover my entire nail! Then while paying I asked why they werent giving us the discount that was advertised on their website and he told me it was from last January. I asked why it was not taken down a year ago and he just kept saying the same thing over and over again. He eventually gave it to myself and one of my sister's...I'm sure to just shut us up but refused reimburse the two that already paid. I have never had such a bad pedicure or customer service! 11pedi chairs, 3workers... Went there with 3 other ppl, told to come back in 15 minutes, went there half an hour later and had to wait another hour for a mani. Had to remind them 3 times I was there for a pedi as they took on new ppl and sat them down. My sister soaked for over an hour before they touched her feet and my aunt just left. In total we were there almost 4 hours. My mom wanted a colour change and apparently got a mani as well because they charged her for it. This has to be one of the worst places I have been for my nails, it's all about the money and not the customer. TERRIBLE SERVICE & USE DIRTY TOOLS!!! I have no idea how this salon is still in business! PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! I went against my better judgement after reading a few bad reviews (no good) but decided to chance it as it was the only nail salon at the time that was able to accommodate a group of 4. 1. They were understaffed. We booked our appointment days in advance and they only had 2 staff members (the owners) for our group of 4. We had to wait 45 mins with our feet in cold water before they even started and then proceeded with our pedicures 1 at a time... 2. They don't have proper training. The man/owner that did my feet skipped the massage, didn't file my nails (they're quite choppy and not straight) and the polish is lumpy and doesn't cover the whole nail. 3. They don't sterilize their equipment! They have a sterilizer machine and claim to use it on their website but they don't. SO GROSS!!! My sister noticed that the man/owner just fumbled with the basket of tools he used on his last client then brought them over to her to use. When my sister asked the man/owner whether or not he had clean tools he said no and looked at her with disgust! (Not exaggerating) He asked if she wanted new tools and rolled his eyes when she said "yes please"! 4. There is an ad on their website offering 20% off pedicures for the month of January. The man/owner claimed the ad was for last January (2015) and refused to honour it. He eventually gave in as we were quite persistent. Honestly, you're better off opening a bottle of wine (or grab a Starbucks) and inviting you're girlfriends over to soak their feet in nice clean (warm) tub then going to First Nails. read more

WARNING!!!! Do NOT go here. I wish I would have read the reviews. First- the OWNERS were the only ones in the salon. The husband was in charge of doing my mani/pedi. Next: Scalding hot water, asked to have him cool the water (duh?!). Next, he was constantly jumping around and looking around while doing my pedi. Then, after continuously JABBING me with the tools, and hurting me (me: jumping, me: ouch) I had to tell him kindly to be more gentle. He was not. I felt as though he was deliberately trying to hurt me! When it comes time for the hot stones... he BURNED my foot with the stone!!!!!!!! I jumped up and yelped!!!!!! I should have walked away, but my daughter was in with me and she was getting her nails done. Then, I go to get my nails done (btw: this took an extremely long time because he kept hopping up and allowing more customers in, doing waxing, taking payment). After 15 minutes of waiting in the chair with my nails soaking (10 of which I had to wait for the water to cool down a bit) he finally sits down- and goes to town on my nails with the clippers. Not only does he do a wicked bad job, but when he starts to trim the extra skin around my nail, he starts really getting rough! I was about to tell him to be more gentle when he JABS the scissors and takes a CHUNK out of my skin. Bleeding profusely I start to cry... by this point he had injured me SO MANY times that I guess I just couldn't take anymore! His wife changed places and apologized, treating my bleeding and gouged thumb. She does a good job on my manicure, but when I tell her how upset I am about my whole experience.. she gives me a whopping $10 off. ????? Serious? MY WHOLE mani/pedi should have been free. Total cost for a mani/pedi with shellac on my hands, and my daughters manicure with shellac.... $105.00 I will be filing a complaint with the BBB - it is obvious that the husband should NOT be doing nails, and cannot possibly have the qualifications to be doing any nails. read more

This is the worst place ever to get your nails done. They do NOT have qualified technicians who know what they're doing and most importantly, they don't listen to what you want. My nails had been applied and, as the employee was shaping them, after many tries to make her understand what I wanted my nails to look like, she couldn't get it. They were the ugliest nails I'd ever seen on my hands, so I had her take them off, which is something I would never, ever do otherwise. Their pedicures are okay...only okay.
