She is extremely knowledgeable, my skin felt amazing afterward, and she even custom-blends her own oils tailored to your skin type. Went for my first time today, and I think I'll be back! I wanted something where I could trust it was sanitary, but wasn't outrageously priced. Aura provided both! I paid $70 for a mani and pedi with regular polish. They have tons of colours and it's a beautiful, quiet and very clean location! The manicure was a nail shaping, cuticle fix, polish and lotion, nothing really special. The pedicure had a nice soak and scrub too! Parking was super easy on the street. I have been coming to Aura spa for 3 years now. Originally I came here to have my eye brows done - as Diana is very skilled, talented and precise with eyebrows (she is the eyebrow queen!). I have very dark black eyebrows and its important they are shaped well as they really stand out on my face. I now go to Aura for my facials, nails and laser hair remover. The staff at Aura are very friendly and skilled and honestly care about all their customers and do their utmost to ensure you are happy and satisfied. Also Diana guarantees her work, which was especially important to me in regards to laser. (have had great results with the laser) I trust the girls at Aura and they never push products on me, and instead have given me advice on how I can care for my skin without using expensive products, which also shows how honest and caring they actually are. The spa is beautiful and modern and they have a great online booking system so I can manage my own appointments easily. I went to this place out of pure convenience as it is second from my house. I got shellac manicures done there a few times, i really liked the nail technician, but once they increased their prices is really wasn't worth it. Waxing is a whole other story. Horrible experience. I was sitting there waiting upwards of 30 minutes for my appointment probably three times. After the 3rd i decided the close proximity wasn't enough to keep me going there. While the owner is very friendly, she is quite assertive and uncomfortable. Once doing my brazilian she was talking about how awkward it is to look at peoples vaginas right in the middle. I know you are staring at my naked bum, a good technician would know not to talk about it. I was completely mortified and embarrassed. Go else where for your waxing unless you want to be talked down by a smug beauty salon owner. read more

Awesome spa!! I stumbled upon the salon after yelping in the area; what a gem. The owner Diana was very friendly, full of wonderful recommendations and the staff was amazing. I can't remember her name, but ask for the young woman from Ireland...she's fun to chat with and did a terrific job! When I return to Calgary I'll definitely stop back in. Best brow service ive ever had and absolutely superior mani and pedi. I went to this spa based on a recommendation of a friend's friend. My friend's friend is very stylish, upscale, health conscious, beauty guru, etc. Anything related with health and beauty, she is on it. She mentioned that Diana, the owner of Aura Spa, is a very professional esthetician. Diana runs a very clean and cozy spa. The services include manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, tanning, some laser treatments, and make up application. I was desperately looking for a good spa that means business and not pretentious. To be honest with you, I do not make a lot of money, but I like to think myself as a big spender when it comes to my face and my skin. I successfully persuaded one of my closest friends to spend few hours getting pampered. My friend picked manicure and pedicure, while I picked manicure, pedicure and facial. Now, my friend's friend told me that Diana does the BEST facial in Calgary. This friend talked nonstop about Diana ability. So I said, what the hell, let's try this Diana's facial. When we got there, the place was quite busy, but not cramped, although the space was smaller than the photo I saw on Yelp. Diana greeted us and I had a good feeling about her. She explained the agenda for the day. She treated us like Queens of England. So I thought, this day would be the best day ever! Then, all changed as soon as I hoped into the facial bed. Diana did the routine: washed my face, exfoliated for maybe 3 mins? Then steamed it for less than 10 mins. I can still feel my pores still closed and asleep. Then, she practised the extractions. It was PAINFUL. But I kept saying to myself, this is what beauty cost! I can felt her fingers just sort of pinched my face really hard, I mean, REALLY HARD. I felt like she was mad at something and just channeled her anger toward my face. I endured the pain for I don't know how long. Kept thinking to myself, beauty is painful. She finally done pinching my face then I experienced this really stingy, painful sensation and I could feel my face was swollen. She put the mask on which felt really nice but not long enough. Maybe 5 mins? I was like, wait wait don't take away the mask. But things happened so fast. All of the sudden, I realized I was in the washroom and saw myself in the mirror. I almost cried. My face was swollen and I could see scars!!!!!! I lost my appetite the whole day thinking what would my face be like. I got home and now the scars are more visible. All over my cheeks, my nose, chin and forehead, basically all over my face!!!! I kept debating should I write a review remembering Diana is very nice and those girls that she employs are super sweet. But I think Diana should not do any facials or anything involving face. I am in the process of healing my face. And I hope, oh how I hope, these scars will somehow go away. My cheeks and chin are still swollen and I have been putting ice every night before going to bed. I took a picture and showed it to my friend's friend. She was mortified and apologized profusely. Anyway, all harms had been done. I just hope Yelp did not screen this review and hide it. Maybe Aura Spa is good for everything else, but definitely not facial. read more
