I usually go to a different nail salon, but it was closed and I was desperate to get my nails filled after coming back from a vacation. After looking at Yelp for some different suggestions, I came across TJ Nails and they were able to accommodate me on a walk on basis. When I got there, I was greeted right away and and given the basket of colour swatches for my gel nail fill. Now, my nails has grown out and were starting to lift but the lovely lady who did my nails and recovered them from their lacklustre state was a sweetheart. I tend to be a little indecisive about nail colours but she kept telling me that I didn't need to rush, and to make sure that I picked a colour that I would be happy with. I'm also happy that they have a loyalty card program, because it's definitely another perk and a reason to come back on top of the customer service! read more

Absolutely terrible, with in 2 days 6 /10 of my acrylic nails were broken. Very painful after. After 12 days all nails were split and a few severely damaged my natural nails. read more

I tried TJ Nails couple of times. Found them a bit unprofessional as they take everyone from the walk in calls and squeeze them in between the appointments. They compromise their services for both. I had a shellac pedicure and it came off very next day. Massage was below average. Also the lady (apparently the leader of the group) who usually receives the phone calls, is very rude. She needs to go through a proper customer service orientation. If she is the leader of the pack, it effects the others. I hope she will learn soon, to run the business successfully. Have gone to TJ Nails a number of times but this last time was the last time. I went in with my daughter and granddaughter and they obviously didn't have enough staff. A staff member started my daughter's pedicure, 10 to 15 min. later the older woman who seems to manage the shop started my pedi, while answering the phone, totally distracted, finished up the same time my daughter did. Best thing about this salon are the people who work there. I felt like they genuinely cared about what I wanted and they were really patient while I decided. The salon itself was very clean. I was really happy with the way they took care not to cut or burn or over file my fingers. They were very gentle. The nails themselves look really good although I'm finding they are a bit soft and already have some wear at the edges two days after being done. They had a pretty good variety of colours but could get some of the changing colour ones. The one really negative thing about this salon is the price and the pricing system. It felt like everything was an extra five dollars. I paid $47 not including tip for a gel fill and color. If I wanted any design it was $5 a nail more. The location is really convenient for me so that was a bonus. All in all I might go back we will see how the nails hold up over the next three weeks... read more

I'm managed to get a last minute appointment when my usual place couldn't do a walk in. This was a nice and clean place. It smelled pleasant and I saw the ladies clean up their areas between appointments-major points! The lady that did my nails spent a ton of time on them and really took care of my problem cuticles. I have gone here a few times hoping each time will be better than the last but this has not happened. Its a nice salon but quality is lacking. I went in recently for a shellac manicure. Some of the top costing did not completely cover the color. The polish was over my nail bed causing it to lift so when washing my hair my hair would get stuck on those parts. My first visit to TJ Nails & Spa in Crowfoot was a pleasant experience. It was my first time getting gel nails and the lady knew exactly what I wanted and was very kind and talkative and my french manicure, square shaped gel nails turned out great! My second visit, however, was quite the opposite. My nails were beginning to grow out and I knew that I had to go back in to get them done, but one of my gels had cracked, I knew I wanted them rounded out and also knew I wanted a different color, but this being my first experience with gel nails, I did not know if I needed completely new gel nails or if I needed a fill. The lady I had this time was not very talkative and not very kind. She also took advantage of my lack of knowledge of gel nails and did not tell me I didn't need a completely new set. She also butchered my fingers which were dry because of the weather, and filed close to the skin until it bled. They are still sore. $80 later I have sore, bloody fingers and a completely new set that I didn't need. Thanks TJ nails & spa... I don't recommend for anyone new to gel nails. I have had 3 pedicures at TJ Nail & Spa and they've done great work every single time. The staff is friendly and the salon is clean. Like many other nail salons, the only down side is that they say "Yes" to everyone. All 3 times I have made an appointment and all 3 times they managed to take a walk-in customer just before me, which has left me waiting anywhere from 10-30 minutes to get in. Then the pedicure winds up taking much longer than it should because they're trying to juggle too many customers. From my "scheduled" appointment time to leaving has been 1.5 - 2 hours each time. read more

Went here Dec 4 and was pretty disappointed in my shellac manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was good but there was nail polish left on the skin that I didn't notice til I got home The manicure tho. ..it was pretty bad. I picked a light pink color and he put 5 coats of shellac on which it quite a lot. It didn't seem a great quality of polish IMO. I was disappointed when I left because he didn't use the little "pick" to get under my nails and there was a buildup of shavings from the nail file that were left there. Also, I had to ask for him to separate the Polish from the skin of every single of my nails as the Polish was stuck to the skin on every nail so he used his own fingernail to separate from my skin. After 10 days the Polish was so chipped I had to go to a new salon to get a fresh mani. I'm use to having to get a new mani only when the nails start to grow out too fast, not because of excessive chipping. (Isn't this why we get shellac Manis? ) The black light machine was broken and I had to keep wiggling my hand to get it to work, him and another nail tek kept telling me how to get it to work. Pretty unprofessional and time to invest in a dryer that works. I was impressed with the fact that all nail tools came in a sanitized sealed plastic bag and everyone in the salon was really friendly. I wouldnt go back because there are a lot of salons in the area that provide a better mani for the same price without chipping. read more

After reading reviews I thought I would give this place a try... I went in for a much needed pedicure. Staff were friendly, no music playing, a TV was on so it was really quiet. It was clean and smelled nice. Pedicure lasted about 20 minutes and the lady who did it ignored the bottom of my feet only scrubbing each one for less than 2 minutes. Really disappointed as I can still feel and see dry spots on most of the bottom of my feet. The bulk of time was spent rubbing my legs and letting the nail polish dry. I guess if you like a mini leg massage then this would be a good place to go; however if you want a pedi that will give you soft feeling feet then I would suggest another place. Over all cost for service ($43 with tax) for what I received was poor. I will not be going back...... read more

I have been a fingernail biter for over 40 years and decided to look into gel nails as a solution to break the habit. My nails were so short, ugly and had jagged edges. I was completely amazed at how beautiful my nails looked after having them done and, they are impossible to bite (believe me, I tried). As my nails grew out, the area to be filled was not that noticeable because I chose a pale pink polish that blended in well with my skin tone. I waited 5 weeks before I had them filled and my gel nails still looked just as good at 5 weeks as they had when they were newly applied. I was amazed at how durable, chip resistant and beautiful they were. I love the fact there is a loyalty card for future discounts. At first I thought this a wonderful, clean salon. The first time I went I was very impressed, but the last couple of times not so much. The icing on the cake for me was when I was finally done (almost 2 hours) for the worst pedi I have ever received anywhere, they charged me $5 to remove the gel! When I said this is where I got my last pedi, she said because I got a regular and not gel she was going to charge me 5 extra dollars!!! Are you serious! I paid it as I was a bit shocked. Wrote up a review with a rating of 1 star yesterday on their website but can't find it now. I USED to come to this place on a regular basis. But no more. I booked an appt for my husband to get waxing done by Lisa, a month ago. I guess Lisa was too busy and my husband couldn't wait, so he agreed to have someone else wax him. This is his second time there. The first time was 6 months ago in Feb 2017. He had the exact same service done, then as he did yesterday. The price that he was charged was $100 and this time he was charged $126. He's been getting waxed for over 25 years and this is the first time that he ended up with bruises and what looks like the wax ripped part of his skin off too. I called and spoke to Tracy, who is the owner of the place and she couldn't give me an explanation as to why the significant price increase. She told me that she would give me a credit, I told her that I didn't want a credit for next time, as there will be no next time. I told her that I would be in at opening today. I went there this morning, they recognized me right away and didn't realize that it was my husband that was in yesterday. She kept telling me that she doesn't know why he was charged $100 the last time but because I'm a regular customer, she is doing me a favor and giving me a gift certificate. She told me that she had to talk to the owner and she's not allowed to give a refund, BUT is doing me a favor by giving me a gift certificate. I called her out. I told her that she was the owner and she said, "yes I am"...so what owner is she talking about? LIAR! I also showed her the bruises that my husband got from waxing and one of the girls that waxed him, as he had 2..one just up and left.... one came over as I was showing Tracy the pictures that I had taken and all she said was, "the bruises will go away in a few days". WTF? My husband has never bruised. Needless to say, the credit that she told me that she was going to give me yesterday, turned out to be a gift certificate that I don't want, as I'll never be going back. There's 3 other nail/waxing places in Crowfoot alone and Venus which is across the street in Ranchlands. The only reason why I started going there was the convenience. I went to the same place, same girl for over 20 years and she stopped waxing and moved on to other line of work. DO NOT goto TJ nails. Deceitful. Makes up prices as they go along. Customer service sucks. If you don't like any in the Crowfoot area, drive up the street to Royal Oak, there's a few in that area. read more

I just wanted to say I had a great experience getting my nails done at this salon. However, when I went to go get my UV nails taken off, it was the worst experience ever. I got a manicure on top in order to keep my nails healthy as possible. However, the lady filed my nails down so much that after all of my real nails broke. They were unevenly filed and can still the scratches on my nails. I'm not sure how their other services were, but I for sure will not go back here again. I am so unhappy with my nails at them moment, they are the unhealthiest as they ever been. read more

The salon itself was very clean, and the staff was pleasant. However, during a pedicure when applying hot stones and a hot towel, they were far too hot and actually burnt me. The soles of my feet were very painful for over a week. I did both a shellac manicure and pedicure, both of which were poorly done. The second day the pink glitter I had done on my toes turned silver and began to come off. For my manicure, spots were missed along the edges, and it began to lift within a couple days. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. There are much better in the Crowfoot area. read more

Painfully slow - gave them a second chance even after they left me sitting with my feet soaking for 30 minutes the first time, barely better the second time. If you don't have enough staff to keep up on appointments, don't take appointments. Mediocre pedicure when they finally do get around to it. I had booked an appointment a week before so there was lots of notice. I should up 20min early and the place was packed. I was hmmm that is a good sign they must be great! I watched and listened and they had people show up that did not have an appointment but they were regulars and they told them to just wait. I was sitting there and my appointment was at 5 and nope I was still sitting there while they went and grab there regulars. At 5:20 I grabbed my stuff and they could see I was about to leave and they were oh over here come sit. At this point I was not impressed. I sat down and asked her for glitter dip and she was confussed. then she tried to tell me that they only did nail polish not gel glitter dip. At this point it was to late to go some place else. At the end I was wanting a design on the nail and she told me she could not do it because the nail polish would not stick! REALLY! I was so unimpressed.
