But I had a great experience with Hien Tran, a design consultant. He walked me through the store to view the Calacatta Bravo and Calacatta Miraggio. I was initially interested in the Calacatta Luccia, a higher price point. I showed Hien the backsplash I wanted and he suggested the Calacatta Bravo and Calacatta Miraggio these designs would not clash with my backsplash. Hien gave me a quote and a sample piece of the backsplash at no charge. He gave me the estimated installation time which was about 3 - 10 business days. I ended up selecting another vendor because United Granite's prices were $300 more expensive. Again, I had a great experience and wanted to share. I think United Granite should offer quotes online, most vendors I checked offered that service. That way you don't waste anyone's time if their prices were not in my budget.

The person who came out and measured told me that I didn't need supports for an additional extention of about 2". in the office Sam said I had to have two supports and they were $500 a piece. I didn't need them and that was a terribly inflated price. Then came the addition of a plumber. I think this should have been covered under the install. I paid him $600 to have a licensed plumber come and unhook sink and stove and then return and turn them back on later in the day. The plumber didn't show up to unhook sink and stove. So the installers had to do that. They weren't happy with that responsibility. A little while later Sam, the scammer showed up. He came to get payment for the plumber- in CASH! When he saw that I had a gas stove, he said "That's not plumbing, you should have told me." I said "of course it is, and you do installs, it was your job to ask." I said, "Since he didn't show up to unhook, I'll only pay you half." He said "Oh no, you are paying me for the job and they did it.". Then he said "Because it's a gas stove, it's $700." I said then just leave it and cancel the plumber. I don't care if it takes weeks before I can get a plumber to hook it back up. I am so done with you. A little while later he said "How about $650." All I wanted was him gone at that point. I finally agreed to get it over with. As the installers were leaving I told them I hoped they would get payment for stove and sink. They said they wouldn't. Sam is not a good person. I would not recommend him at all. Buyer beware!

Even though they asked a lot of questions about size and measurements, it is not a thorough evaluation because there was one shelf that didnt fit and I ended up paying a restocking fee. There was also a push to make a part fit during installation rather than help identify the one I needed. Taking care to know exactly what is needed is critical, or one could end up with some unexpected additional charges for the parts that do not fit, plus charges for reinstallation.

Overall, the…read morequality, workmanship, and attention to details were highly evident throughout the entire project. The project manager, Jason, was on site every 2-3 days to ensure the work was proceeding as discussed. He was easily reachable by phone during the entire project. VKB was able to place 2 teams on site which allowed the work to be completed in 4.5 weeks instead of 6-7 weeks which would have been normal. The team lead on site, Walter, was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the project (demolition, prep, electrical, plumbing, fixtures, paint, etc.). He has an excellent team of workers that rotated across the various tasks in each bathroom. My wife and I were very pleased at the finished results. Everything came together very nicely. We would highly recommend VKB for your bathroom remodeling. With that said, I offer a few suggestions for potential clients to consider. Customers should make sure they know exactly what they want to do. While change orders can be made after the project is started, it costs more than if the project scope was defined from the beginning. Also, I recommend looking at www.build.com to pre-select the fixtures that are needed prior to scheduling the meeting with the designer. Trying to select all the fixtures for the bathroom within 60-90 minutes in the showroom can be challenging.

My experience with this contractor has been extremely frustrating and disappointing…read more We hired this company expecting professional renovation work. Instead, we have been left with numerous workmanship and installation problems, several of which go well beyond cosmetic imperfections. The microwave ventilation was not properly sealed to the exterior, leaving an opening through which birds and other vermin could enter the home. The bathroom vent was also improperly sealed, allowing water intrusion that damaged the ceiling. We also experienced electrical problems--the stove and microwave cannot operate at the same time, and a kitchen outlet identified during our review was not GFCI. Even more concerning, the garbage disposal/plumbing installation resulted in wastewater and sewage spilling into the basement. The finishing work was also poor. Walls were not properly prepared before painting, areas behind the refrigerator and stove were left unfinished, and drywall/plaster work around a vent was done poorly enough that the vent separated from the wall. The painting itself will need professional correction. We also had concerns about the cleanliness of the work site and certain work practices. Most frustrating is that we raised concerns throughout the project, yet the issues remained unresolved. We have photographs documenting these conditions and have now formally requested that the contractor correct the outstanding deficiencies. I do not recommend this company.
