I was surprised and the little things that he added that I wasn't expecting like the undercabinet lighting that I wanted, he put a switch on the wall so I can use one side of the kitchen or the other and you cannot see the lighting it's LED lights that are so small that you can't even tell they're there until you light them up and the cabinets are excellent quality the special design a space for me to hide my big trash cans that Laurel provides. and he stands behind his work that's the thing he every day to see the progress of being made and gives his approval or he might suggest something be done a little more to his satisfaction because he is so particular that you can't help with the at his work so if you want a local contractor that stands behind his job and his company he cares about you as a customer and he's treated like a member of your family so go with the local them the business. Don't give it to the they've got money go to the local contractors that are reliable and get the good reviews like because Maryland homes and renovations cannot be beat. I gave him a five out of five rating.

I found his design to be original, functional and attractive. The work went along routinely with most of the work handled by in-house crews. I went with a second project with Ardo to redo my basement floor and remove mold. I stayed with Ardo principally due to the responsiveness and integrity shown by the owner Paul Arnold. The basement job was primarily done by outside contractors. Paul's oversight was first rate. My only criticism, not enough to dissuade, is the bidding generally is only to one sub. I will definitely use Ardo on future work in my home.

P.S. In June 2023 I hired D B Genesis to reinstall the hardwood floors and some of the steps. They…read moredid a neat and professional job. There were no gaps between the boards evident. Subsequently I filed a claim with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission against its Guaranty Fund. The fund was set up to compensate homeowners who hire licensed contractors who either fail to complete a job or do it in an "unworkmanlike" manner. After a very long drawn out process, the MHIC opined that the multitude of gaps "were not significant enough to render the installation unworkmanlike." Prefinished hardwood flooring is an interlocking tongue-and-groove system and it is certainly not good workmanship to install the boards with clearly visible separations. This contractor left more than 50 open joints between the boards, significant gaps between boards and stair rails and installed steps with stair noses that were not level and that creaked shortly after installation. This was certainly an unworkmanlike installation. (I guess that tells you what a license from the MHIC is worth.) What matters, however, is not my opinion or the MHIC's but whether you would be pleased if this contractor did such fine work in your home. This contractor has cost me time, money and a lot of aggravation with his threats of legal action, lies and refusal to accept responsibility. He continues to lie about conditions in my home alleging that I do not operate my HVAC leading to wildly fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels, causing the multitude of gaps. Don't be fooled. He is just lying to shift blame for the shoddy work of his subcontractor to me, the homeowner. BTW he's also lying about offering to replace the flooring at cost. P.P.S. As I have stated before the "official unbiased inspection report" Eric is referring to falsely stated there were no separations visible in the floor either from a stand up position or under 10x magnification and thus, concludes there were no installation problems. So I guess those are all imaginary gaps Eric's subcontractor filled in with wood putty. The MHIC a scam?? I would not put it that way but certainly they did not have much sympathy for me as a homeowner harmed by a licensed contractor. They seemed much more concerned about protecting the Guaranty fund from claims, even legitimate ones. Sometimes the system does not deliver justice. In any case, a license from the MHIC is clearly not a guarantee against shoddy workmanship.

This company is very very professional, talented, time conscious, and customer service oriented! The quality of the carpets & flooring that they advertise and use in their showroom and residences/ businesses are of amazing quality! One was unavailable for 2 weeks (with major rain predicted), one came in with a higher price, and Dan Parks Home Improvement came in with a more reasonable price. I found this company to be reputable, and they were also willing to work on the weekend to get things finished before the weather turned rainy again. I was happy with the quality of the work, the timeframe for completion, and the price. After they completed this work, I hired them to do some other repairs, including work on the chimney (which I already knew I was going to have to do eventually) and repairs to gutters with installation of gutter covers (another project I had been considering). Edit for follow-up: This company also spoke to my insurance adjuster and helped me get approval to proceed with repair without waiting. The insurance adjuster visited this morning, inspected the roof, and approved the claim in full (no adjustment except for the deductible).

I emailed Homerite and heard back immediately from Kevin who scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate. I had done my research on Homerite before contacting Kevin and felt comfortable knowing he had a slew of good reviews and was part of the BBB. I received multiple quotes from different companies and decided to go with Kevin since he only has a specific crew of people he works with and was able to match the price I got from Andersen. It was a bit pricey, but I believe I got the best quality for the price and it was worth it! Kevin was easy to work, and once I signed the contract, his crew was at my house and installed the door in a day! Homerite's doors are Miliken which may not be as reknown as Andersen or Pella but their product is great! I chose the Miliken fiberglass oak door (there is a light woodgrain texture to it so it looks like a wood door) and I was able to choose different colors for the inside and outside. I opted for tricorn black on the outside and urbane bronze on the inside. Kevin's crew also installed a new satin nickel door knocker and keypad lock to my door. He also made sure the hinges were satin nickel to match. Such attention to detail and for a door, it looks phenomenal! The crew also installed a framesaver jamb that is made of a composite material in order to prevent water damage and rot. We have had the door for over two years now and it really stands out on our block. Black door against red brick looks fantastic. We recently had some slight peeling on the paint on the jamb (the door still looks brand new!) and I emailed Kevin and he came by the next day just to make sure everything was still in order. He dropped off a can of matching paint for me (July 2012) so I could do a touchup on my own--having had the door installed January 2010--that's phenomenal service! I couldn't recommend Homerite enough!

He gave pretty comparable pricing and told me I could get a shipment within 3 days. All cabinets would come built and I would just need someone to install it. CON: Well, when I decided to order my cabinets, Bud was on vacation and the other guy couldn't take my order. Then the cabinets took longer than a 3-day delivery because of the day I ended up ordering it on. The cabinets also arrived late on delivery day. Bud told me there was traffic. The guys end up telling me it was because they were short staff. I love honesty....no need to lie. So, my contractors ended up waiting around for 3 hours...not fair to them. PRO: Bud tried to make it up to me. A couple of pieces did not come in and I ended up needing an additional filler that he did not charge me for. I also ended up having to order another filler and that came in a timely manner and I picked it up from their showroom. Overall good experience, just need to tighten up ordering and delivery.
