Very responsive and punctual. Requested help a few months ago to install a ceiling fan for my room that received very weak air. They were the rare service that actually came on time and provided early notice. Once they arrived, they helped us also install new smoke detectors. Service was excellent and price was fair. Robert was extremely responsive and helpful in helping me pull a line for 50 amps and 240v outlet. I made a request Sunday, and secured an appointment Monday morning. He worked extremely quick and I was able to charge my car immediately after he finished. I would recommend 100%! read more

Robert was extremely responsive and prompt in getting service started when we needed our outdated sub-panel replaced. He was even candid with us up front that even if we decided not to go with him, that we should still get the sub-panel replaced as a high priority due to it being a fire hazard. We really appreciated that level of honesty, putting customer safety over profit. While we did do some price shopping and were considering other contractors, ultimately Robert was the most responsive and professional. He was able to get things arranged and done within days of us requesting, including a city permit and inspection per our preference. His wife is also very nice and helpful as well. Overall, very satisfied with the work that they did for us. Will definitely consider them for future projects as well. read more

Prompt response and great communication to help assess the issue. Would highly recommend!!

Robert responded promptly to my request and was able to scope the job from email exchange. The bid for replacing an obsolete 90 amp sub panel and adding an EV charger outlet was reasonable and he was able to start in just a couple of days. He used high quality components and did a very professional job in just one day (good thing because all power was off for work). I would highly recommend Electric Chen for clean high quality work at a reasonable price. read more

I needed to replace a range stove and wasn't comfortable doing the wiring myself. I'm glad I contacted Mr Chen. He is very knowledgeable and offered sound advice. He checked all the wiring in the service panel and changed out a circuit breaker that was too large for the appropriate load. Mr Chen arrived around 6:30 pm to give me a quote and ended up staying until the job was completed. His prices are reasonable and his work is excellent and professional. read more

Highly recommended! The outlets in our kitchen suddenly lost power on a Sunday. Contacted Electric Chen on Monday morning, and they replied via text message almost immediately. We sent a few pictures and they were very patient with our questions, particularly with the quality and capacity of our sub-panel. We ended up decided to replace our sub-panel, which was indicated to have design flaws in a previous inspection report done by another party. Robert came on Tuesday and finished the work within a few hours. The space around our sub-panel is quite limited, but Robert was very patient and efficient, and completed the work without removing extra dry walls so we do not need to find other people to patch the wall. Once the sub-panel and breakers were replaced, the outlets got their power back. It's an excellent experience to work with Robert -- efficient, professional, friendly, informative, with affordable price! read more

We called Robert to come look at several outlets that stopped working over time, along with a handful of other electrical issues around the house (doorbell, ceiling fan, light switch). He returned our call within a few minutes and gave us a quote right away. Robert arrived on time and ready to work. He explained everything very well, offering ideas for how we could improve our electrical throughout the house. He resolved our main issue quickly and gave suggestions for some of the other work, offering to help us with it if we decided to proceed. He worked quickly, but effectively. We really are glad we called him and will continue to call him for future work needed. We are happy with the price he charged and thr work he was able to complete and counsel us on. I was looking for an electrician to install an electric car charger in my garage, and a friend referred Robert to me. I reached out, Robert quickly asked some quick questions and made it out to my house the same day to have a look at my garage. He quickly gave me a couple options, one which included upgrading an existing subpanel, which was old and had no more available slots, but never made me feel pressured, just presented me some options. He offered to send me quotes for those options that evening, which was very transparent and helpful for me to understand the cost of my options. While he was there, I asked him about some other work inside the house I was considering, including installing an exhaust fan in a bathroom and replacing one in another bathroom. He took a look and also included quotes for those that evening alongside the garage work. We scheduled some time for the next week to take care of both jobs over two days, and I've been very happy with his work. Robert was responsive, communicated clearly, efficient, neat, and did a quality job. He even did me a favor while he was in the attic and helped me adjust the temperature on a number of recessed lights that were difficult for me to get to. I would highly recommend Robert and will be reaching out to him for future work! read more

Robert was professional and responsive. He helped me understand the cost of the different options I had in mind for installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet from my laundry room subpanel. I enjoyed the fact that he wasn't a salesman, just a local, one-man, mobile electrician shop. He gave me different quotes for the different options on the spot and told me that they'd be final, there wouldn't be additional markups on the day on installation. He also took his time to be very clear about how and when to use my EV charger as I had asked for a configuration that could potentially overload the subpanel if I decided to run all my Ovens and drying machines at the same time that I charge my EV. His work was clean and fast, and I now have an EV charger outlet in my garage that I can run at night to charge my EV. All in all it took 3-4 days from point of contact to installation complete. He came by on a Sunday to do the onsite inspection and quote, then installed the next morning. I'm very satisfied with this type of efficiency and quality of work. Thanks, Robert! read more

I had a complex outdoor electrical problem where few outlets have no power and the breaker keeps jumping. After reaching out to multiple electricians about my problem and many not willing to spend the time diagnosing the issue, I found Robert at Electric Chen and he came right away. What a great attitude! When he arrived, he got right to it inspecting the issues while I left him to run some errands. When I returned 30min later, he already changed my breaker and found the problem outlet. After another hour of work, he got everything working perfectly and even upgraded my outdoor outlet so water won't cause future problems. I've worked with many electricians before on different projects and Robert is one of the most knowledgeable, efficient, hard working problem solver I've met. When it's time to pay, he quoted me a very fair market rate and I actually tried to pay him more because to me he performed magic but he insisted on nothing more. In short, he was responsive in the beginning, punctual on arriving, worked around my schedule, solved my electrical problem without much guidance from me, worked hard fixing the issue, and asked for a very fair price for his work. What else can you ask from a professional? I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with electrical issues and will use him again for future projects!!! Thank you Robert! read more

Robert was great. He was quick, efficient and responsive to all my questions prior to the work. He came prepared and on time and was very respectful to our home (brought his own shoe covers and mask) His pricing was competitive/fair. The work completed: I needed to convert 3 outdated wall outlets to 3 prong GFCI outlets. He made great recommendations as to what my options were. Both the budget route and more expensive route. No matter the option, he was very knowledgeable and ensured the work he did was safe. All in all, I would definitely recommend Robert / Electric Chen. read more

We just got our Tesla wall charger installed by Robert today . Very satisfied with the good job and highly recommend Robert to anyone who wants to find a trusty , honest and reliable electrician. Initially we started the project quote through Yelp. Robert is very responsive and asked details of the project ( we even did a virtual call to confirm ). He gave us a very reasonable quote and after discussion, we decided to follow his advice and did the installation with the main panel ( vs sub panel) . The actual installation work was done pretty quick and neat by Robert and his teammate, he also gave us some good suggestions after the job is done . We are happy to use Robert again for any future project ! read more

Robert is an honest, reliable and trustworthy guy. He was the first to respond to my project inquiry on Yelp and gave a very reasonable diagnostics quote while others who offered their services quoted 10 times more than he did without even seeing or knowing the issue. He was able to accommodate his schedule to my availability and was prompt and professional. Aside from the main project I had him fix, my brother also took the opportunity to have him check other electrical issues we had at our residence and he worked on them immediately and made sure things that needed replacing were replaced according to code. And the final price? Absolutely reasonable and not far from his initial quote, including the additional cost of replacements. Electric Chen - Fixing the outlet - Electricians Near Me

After our initial experience with Electric Chen (which was outstanding), we contacted Robert to install a 240v EV outlet in our garage. Robert arrived as scheduled and said it would take a couple of hours to complete. He completed the project in less than that time, even with complications in the space provided in the fuse box. I am so pleased to have found an excellent, professional electrician in our area. Robert provides a clear description of what is needed and tests the outlet after installation with us present. He is punctual and offers outstanding service at a fair and reasonable price. I am pleased to refer Robert as he is well deserving of Yelp's highest rating. If you need an electrician, I, again, would strongly urge to contact Electric Chen. read more

Robert responded to my online request within 10 minutes on a Sunday - great. He showed up on time - great. Now the not so good. In my original Yelp request, I explained the problem in detail (a wiring fault in an existing house circuit). Then I explained it again on the phone. After an hour of troubleshooting the electrical problem, he concluded the problem is exactly what I had called him about. He then told me I have to pay for the consultation and an extra hour on top, even though he was only at my house for 1 hour 15 minutes. I asked Robert if he can find and fix the problem, he said he cannot and that it requires a "builder" and he cannot do it. He showed no interest in suggesting any alternatives. I spent almost $200 for him to tell me he can't fix the problem. :-/ read more

I created a project RFQ for my small electrical project at home for a wired Google security with flood light that Google subcontractors unable to do, wall sconces and side door motion spot light. Among all the quotes, Electric Chen was the most responsiveness and flexible on schedule to accommodate my work schedule. What's even better is, the team was willing to come over to perform a job on a Father's Day Sunday which I couldn't appreciated more especially with having an infant at home. While the team was here, I have decided to install a 14-50 plug for EV charging. The job were professionally done; all meeting the code. Me and my family highly recommended Electric Chen read more
