At that point I told her I wanted to think about it because I could get the battery myself. She said okay. Still ZERO mention of a $200 diagnostic fee. I found the battery somewhere else and decided I didn't want them doing the repair, so I called back and said I was coming to pick up the car. Now suddenly a MAN answers the phone, puts me on hold, and comes back with: "Just so you know, there's a $200 charge." EXCUSE ME??? So you're telling me about a $200 charge AFTER I've already decided not to move forward? Why wasn't this disclosed when I called? Why wasn't it disclosed when I dropped the car off? Why wasn't it disclosed when I was told what they supposedly found? And here's what makes this even worse: their own website clearly states that diagnostic fees are usually under $100.
