Wow - talk about the worst customer experience and rip off I think I've ever had. - Tried to speak to manager to understand why my repair would take 8 weeks; she was supposed to call me 7 times and literally never called me back (Amanda) - It turns out two of those 8 weeks was insurance company waiting for simple photos from the repair shop - promised me a loaner car because my insurance coverage of $3,000 hit the cap and I had to come out of pocket $1,300 because of their delay. Over two weeks never provided a loaner. Amanda the manager was supposed to reach out to help me; called her every day and she called me back zero times - insurance company was waiting on simple photos for 7-10 days which caused above delay. I kept talking to insurance, they kept reaching out to Perillo....zero response. I was about to buy a new BMW from perillo but would never do business with them again. ....collision repair needs a serious change in customer service. Many thumbs down read more

I'm really sad about this. I had come to know the Perillo brand for care and quality for 2 decades now, and this is the first time that I was really let down. I had a low speed scrape on my BMW that required some bodywork, and I had gone here 2 years ago for nearly the same degree of minor damage. Although it wasn't cheap then, it was a fair price paying out of pocket. When I went back this time, no one from 2 years ago was there, and although they paid lip service to dispensation for paying out of pocket, when the assessment came it was, no exaggeration, 5 times the price compared to 2 years ago. I could see even paying double, but 5 times? Needless to say I found another high quality repair shop, and they did a fantastic job. But it saddens me that I've lost trust in Perillo, as they had treated me so well over the years. I guess times change. read more

There is no factory finish left on my VW Golf after taking it to Perillo Collision for minor repairs to the left front fender and left front door. Perillo Collision Center in Chicago gave me a reasonable estimate with legitimate procedures that were painting fender and door and blending into back door. Preliminary estimate was $2400. I was told to take it to their Melrose Park location. Ms. Perez, the manager, at that location assured me that the technicians there had the same training as those at the Chicago location. But it was egregiously evident that the person who attempted to repair the car had no more than back-alley training. The metallic flake in the repair didn't match the rest of the car. Too much was added to the paint mixture and the pieces of metallic flake were larger and coarser than the very fine metallic flake in the rest of the car. That mixture was sprayed haphazardly on other parts of the car, like an amateur's effort at blending. The filler in the car door was rippled. There was a Bensenville address in the navigation. I did not put it there and nobody else drives my car. The final bill there was $1235, $1165 less than the preliminary estimate. When I took the car back for inspection, Ms. Perez was very nervous. I believe that she thought that because I'm a senior, she could get away with the shoddy work and didn't expect me to return. She offered to redo it. I took the car to Perillo Collision Center in Chicago. Kevin Daly, manager, said they would redo the car there. I asked what was going to be done to my car, but didn't get an answer. I dropped the car off, and three weeks later I got a call to pick the car up after 4pm. The next day in the sun light, I could see that the mistake made at the Melrose Park location was not changed, and that the rest of the car was repainted/refinished to match that mistake. The final bill at the Chicago location listed many more procedures than the preliminary estimate including the front bumper, hood (completely repainted), pillars rocker and floor, rear door, quarter panel, rear lamps, rear bumper, all necessary to blend with the Melrose Park mistake. The right side of the car was also refinished with more metallic flake to blend with the first mistake. The final bill was $2999, $599 more than the preliminary estimate because more parts of the car had to be repainted/refinished to blend with the first mistake made in Melrose Park. I wasn't given a written warranty. There are now different mixtures of metallic blend on my car. This experience has been awful for me. I was very pleased with my car. I don't feel the same about it now. I don't like the finish, and every time I look at it, I'm reminded of the awful experience with Perillo Collision. read more

Over the years I have only used Perillo Collision for body work on my X4. Over time they have moved and changed managers but the quality of work has remained superb. I have taken other family cars in for repair and again the quality and professional service is like no other. Recently I had them repair a side swipe and noticed my door was clunky to open and close. If you want to find a place to detail your car, this is definitely not the place. I purchased my car last year from perillo bmw and I got a 3 times free detail package included in my purchase. I used my first one few months ago and I was shocked how poorly the job was done. The car wasn't even properly washed before they detailed it. Bugs were still on the front bumper and you can still see dust randomly hiding in the corner. How could you detail a car without even get it totally cleaned? And the car looks absolutely horrible under the sunshine. The holograms are all over the place. I didn't even bother to come back and let them fix it because I simply lost my faith in them. I attached few pictures but trust me it looks 100 times worse in person. read more

Let me start by saying bunch of lairs!! WHEN I GOT THERE THERE IS NO SIGN ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FLAG... I own a mb cls. My brother in law recommended this place, after my wife was in accident but he told me that they do very good work but he also told me that they might take longer than 30 days to complete the job but your car will be back to perfection. I called juan which is the manger and told him that he has 30 days to fix my car because the insurance won't pay after that for rental he said no problem and it will be done with in the 30 day period. Took the car there and never hear from them I call and juan disappeared oh he is out the office oh he is out for training I go there after 35 days and my car hasn't been touched there waiting for parts I asked for a loaner and they tell me even if I own a bmw they won't give me a car. Now I went nuts and the body shop manger PAT tells them to get me a rental and he will pay for 2 days I said what are you talking about this car easy take another month to put together and it sure did my car was by them for almost three month and their excuse was that because my insurance adjuster did the first estimate at my was that's why they didn't know what the car needs. Every week the same lie oh your car will be ready on Friday they call my Thursday the part didn't or I didn't come in they had to pay for the rental and I should be glad that their pay for because I'm the one that's not doing my job. They charged the insurance 22k for the job and they told my that they fix Bentley and Lamborghini so my car didn't mean anything to them. I told them that I was done talking to them and my lawyer will Handel from her on and they put my car back together in 1 week. I called the owner and sent him text messages he opened them and didn't even take the time as a business owner to acknowledge the problem. No I'm thinking the car will be in good shape after my wife picked it up while I was out of town. I drive the car once I get back and there something wrong, I took the car to Mercedes dealer and they came back with a bill for $10,000 in repairs in the same area from the accident and I sent to the body shop and respond was that stuff was wear and tear and it had nothing to do with the accident. LONG REVIEW BUT WANTED FOR EVERYONE TO SEE WHAT KIND OF SCAM THERE RUNNING OVER THERE. These guys are scam and liars don't waist your time!! This post is long overdue. Generally most people know that 1 star reviews are just consumers who are looking to complain about everything and want something free. I can assure you, this is a legit review. I had my car broken into and so I took it for repairs to the leather, window frame, and window itself, plus I think a little body paint, all caused by the crowbar that was likely used to get in. I have a BMW X3 so when I called the Perillo dealership they referred me to their "collision shop". First, they did not tell me it was NOT associated with BMW. I was under the impression it was based on how the call went. So I take the car in and I'm assigned a case manager. I'm told it will take a week or so. I didn't have a rental car agreement in my insurance unfortunately so I had to uber everywhere including back from the repair shop. The car is there 2 weeks. I return from a trip when it is supposed to be complete and since I didn't hear from them, I called in. I'm told the insurance company never came. I later checked with the insurance company and got a record of the date they did the review, and Perillo definitely lied about when it was performed. So anyway, I am now without my car a long time, causing many inconveniences and costs with ubers. Finally I get the car back and it was not done properly. The work was shoddy, I picked the car up it was messy inside, even had food wrappers in the door storage areas. So basically, somebody took my car on errands and ate in the car and left the wrappers for me to clean up. I had to take it back in a couple of times. In the end, it still wasn't a great repair. The window still seems loose, and they definitely did not put something back together correctly in the back door because my speaker now rattles. I have never had a worse experience in car repairs. I highly recommend going to a differently repair shop. This one is not professional, does not keep their word, doesn't perform great work, and at least with me, clearly lied. read more

I wanted an estimate and got a whole bunch of people who didn't want to take ownership and help me. I had problems on the phone and when I arrived. Even though I was clear that I was there for an estimate for auto body repair, I still got ushered from one person to another: the valet guy, the cashier, the car sales people, and finally the mechanics. The mechanic guy who helped me was nice enough, but eh... Although he told me about their superior craftsmanship standards of BMWs and Mercedes, he was the absolute laziest when it came to giving me an estimate. He asked to see the estimate from Gold Coast Auto Body and then he copied all of the parts and labor into his computer program, printed it, and gave it to me. I got three estimates that day and two of the places (Gold Coast Auto Body and C & W Autobody) each took their time washing the damaged part, taking pictures, entering it into their system, and then patiently explaining it all to me. I don't know why this guy at Perillo would brag about his excellence and then copy someone else's work. I must admit that his sales pitch about his painting ability and stuff pulled at my heart-strings. I liked it. What I didn't like was not reaching someone on the phone, being passed around when I was there, and then having the laziest (and most costly) estimate. Oh - and he said that they would take twice as long as the other body shops. What a specious load of crap! read more

I am going to chalk it to me being a sadist and not an idiot. (If you determine otherwise - please spare me. I am in enough pain.) Short story. I got hit two years ago and took the car to Perillo who worked with J. Cosmetic Services. After really crappy ball drops and two return trips (rental car and all) to have the same thing fixed - Mr. Perillo refunded me the entire cost of the repair. So, because at heart, I am a nice person, I decided to give them a chance again when I got hit this year. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH ME???? Now apparently it is Perillo Collision Center - but sadly all the same people and this place is a complete joke. You have to babysit them through the entire process. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. They have no respect for your time and take no accountability. And the manager Jay - GOOD NIGHT! I'm sure his mom loves him but he has no business interfacing with customers or managing a business of any kind. You have been warned. If you drop your car off there, be sure to pick up a fork so you can stab yourself in the throat as you work with these clowns. read more

I went in to get an estimate for a rear door collision to be repaired. I was pretty much set to hand over the keys to have the car fixed until Tom greeted me as if I was the biggest idiot. He talked to me like a kindergartner and as a result I asked for a detailed estimate. He asked me to wait while he surveyed the car. When he was done, he handed me a piece of paper and said thanks and walked away. On the form, was a single line that listed the location of the repair and the cost. Seriously? The other estimates I received from competitors, while exactly the same amount of money, were detailed. They listed line by line what they would need to do to the repair and the estimated hours for each. I won't be going to Perillo. My advice - don't assume your customers are idiots. Don't speak to your customers as idiots. And even, if by chance, you may provide the best service in Chicago, don't act rude. Your staff requires serious customer service training. read more

This place is really good. I was referred to Pat by my chiropractic Dr. Tony who is awesome too. I took my car to multiple places to get an estimate. I drive a 2003 BMW 325i. The trunk was damaged and there was some rust on the quarter panel. Pat took one look at the car, gave me a fair deal and kept me posted regarding the status of the work. He really likes what he does and is a honest man. He did a "BANG UP JOB"...LOL. The car looks new and very clean. Got involved in an accident last month with my X6, right front side was significantly damaged. When I initially called Perillo to inquire about how I should make the arrangement with them to get the vehicle repaired, Aman Tahiliani was the one that answered my call. He clearly explained how the process would go and guided me throughout the process in an extremely professional manner. When the car was towed to the collision center, Aman immediately came to the collision center to greet me and inspected the damages and assured me that all arrangements for replacement parts and labor will be scheduled so I would have the vehicle back asap. Throughout the repair Aman worked with my insurance claim adjuster for all the necessary paperworks and approval, while also keeping me updated with all the details of the repair and schedule. Overall, given the scale of the damages and number of components needed to be replaced, the whole repair took about 4 weeks. But Aman made the whole process hassle-less for me, which I sincerely appreciate!!! read more

I recently had work done at Perillo Collision, and am very disappointed with my experience. I bought my car from the Perillo BMW dealership, and at the time, paid for a protection plan that covered bumpers, door dings, etc. I brought my car in to have some bumper repair work done, and also decided to get a detail. A week later when I went to pick up my car, I noticed 8-9 chips in the paint on the left side of the trunk lid and left quarter panel. Perillo immediately claimed the damage was there when I dropped off the car. I can say with certainty it was not. After some discussion, they informed me that they had HD cameras set up in the service area, and they would likely have pictures of my car when I drove it in. I thought to myself, great news! A couple days later, I call the rep I was dealing with and he tells me the pictures showed that the damage was there before. So I ask him to send me the pictures, and 10 minutes later he calls back and says he was mistaken - the pictures were actually inconclusive, and they were going to go ahead and repair the damage. As annoying as it was to go without my car for another few days, I was happy they were doing the right thing. Unfortunately, although they did repair the trunk and quarter panel damage, they somehow managed to scrape the leather on the left side of my M steering wheel, left all sorts of dust and dirt in the car, and left two surface scratches (one on each side of the car) that I can only hope will buff out. I've since moved from the area, but had I stayed there is no way I'd ever deal with them again. If you care about your car and/or value honesty, I'd advise you to go elsewhere. read more
