    I have a 2017 RAM 1500...I accidentally damage the side panel of the flatbed. I was referred to South Loop Auto Service by a family friend. So I took it in; got a estimated quote. After three different estimates. I decided to go with South Loop Auto Service. They work directly with my Insurance Company. The process was painless. Demetrius Hopkins took care of me from beginning to the end. He kept me informed of my vehicle progress via call or text. He ensured me if I had any questions or concerns to contact him. My vehicle went in March 24, 2020, and I was given a completion date of April 2, 2020. Man...He was right! My RAM look brand new. I have NO complaints. The color was spot on; he was able to get the same fixed running board with the RAM Logo. You're looking at a VERY SATISFIED customer. Here's some before and after pics.

    I thought this was horrible but realized it wasn't. Your car stickers, plates should be current when dropping your vehicle off!

    This was my second visit here. My first visit was in 2010 where my drivers side mirror was replaced. Different staff in 2010 which were African American, I was well taken care of and great work. I had to return in June, 2017 from a car accident where I had rear bumper damage. Because of my recent 2017 experience here, I feel it's only fair to give two ratings: one for repair work and one for customer service. Repair Work: 5 STARS - this body shop does great repair work. The repairers know what they are doing - they did in 2010 and again this time in 2017. My car looked great when they finished, was washed an cleaned on the outside and inside including floors vacuumed. Shiny!! The person who initially gave me my estimate named Carlos was friendly & knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done when I first brought my car in which I appreciated. He seemed concerned, was nice enough to ask me about what happened in the accident and was able to give a timeline on when parts would be in and an approximate finish time for repairs. I will also say that the men working on the cars were friendly and would say "Good Morning" which I also appreciated. Customer Service: 2 STARS - I dealt with three different people with regards to my car: Jaime, Barbara and Danielle. The day of the estimate, I dealt with Carlos only. He told me the parts would be in on a Monday. On Monday, I called to verify that the parts were in before dropping off my car. I spoke with Danielle who was nice over the phone. She took my name and number and told me she would call me back. I received a timely call back from Barbara who confirmed my parts were in. Fine. I bring my car in where I was dealing with Jaime. Explained that I was there for body shop repairs. She asked with an attitude "Do you have an appointment"? I explained that I had been there prior and had spoke that morning to Danielle and was told by Barbara that parts were in. She goes "Danielle?" She doesn't work at this location and Barbara works at the other location also. Now to be fair, I thought I called the right location I had been to prior so it caused a little bit of confusion which I take some of the responsibility. Nonetheless, Barbara was in the office with Jaime so we finally got it straightened out and Carlos was also there so I dropped my car off. I will say that Barbara was friendly also on the phone and in person and I was glad to deal with her. Barbara had me sign some paperwork. I had to rent a car. I called on Wednesday to check on my car and Barbara told me it should be ready the next afternoon. Great or so I thought. I call on Thursday at 12:20 p.m. and talked to Jaime. Same not nice attitude and I ask if my car was ready. She told me she needed to call me back in 5 minutes because Carlos wasn't around. By 1 p.m. I had not gotten a call back so I call again and she answers the phone. I explain who I am as ask about my car. She told me Carlos still isn't back and she would need to call me back. By this point, I am livid. I need to return the rental car, leave work early to go pick up my car and all I wanted to know is if my car was ready and didn't appreciate the run around. I told her I need to know something NOW. She puts me on hold for awhile and comes back to the phone to say "Your car is ready". I couldn't wait to get there to get my car. I return the rental car and get to the body shop, they close at 5. I open the door and Jaime's back is to the front door. She didn't turn around to see if it was a customer, insurance agent, doctor, lawyer, indian chief which to me was rude. I had to say something to her for her to turn her chair around to see me. She didn't seem to remember me but I called her by name and told her I was there to pick up my car. She pulled up my paperwork and gave me a release document to sign saying I picked up my car. I told her that I was not signing that document until I saw my car which I don't think is a fair practice to have you sign that type of document without first seeing the work they have done on your car. I had to wait a while for my car and didn't know why so I asked what was taking so long. Jaime tells me that my car is in a lot that is 2 blocks down. Why couldn't she simply let me know that or apologize for the wait? Basic customer service that I wasn't being given. When my car finally is pulled up, it looks beautiful and I express this to them. I pay my money and I left. Customer Service needs a big tweaking here - Jaime will make people turn away, you can tell that she doesn't want to be there. I noticed in a few other reviews that there was a complaint of a woman that has a bad attitude so I see I'm not the only one to notice this. When you are the first face of a business, they need to be helpful and friendly and that is not what a customer gets dealing with her. For the repair work, I would return again. For the front office customer service, absolutely NOT!

    This was the only nearby place the insurance would pay for after my brand-new hatchback got plowed…read moreby a cab driver. And man, I had some strange experiences with these guys. I dropped the car off with a real character: he made a huge deal opening and closing the non-busted door and telling me how the other door would sound just like it when he got done with it. I dug the hilariously unnecessary saltiness of his language during this routine. Then another mechanic gave me a lift to the train in my own busted ride. I thought it was pretty nice of them. They're also really prickly about what kind of payment they'll accept. It better be a signed-over insurance company check, or you can expect some guff. Receiving guff from burly dudes is kind of a known risk when auto repair is afoot, but it's still most unwelcome. They did offer to give me a ride all the way back to Hyde Park to pick up the right sort of check after I brought the wrong kind, though. Something really sketched me out when I picked the car up. Generally it looked pretty good, but there was still a big scuff on the bumper. When I told them about it the mechanics gave each other some hand signals and told me they would repaint it while I waited there. Ten minutes later it looked all right, but they clearly didn't paint it in that amount of time! A friend who does body work told me they probably just did a blend. That's fine, but why would they screw around with me like that? Bah.

    My dream auto body shop? Organized. Polite, honest staff. No hassle…read more I'd like to give Elar's 2.5 stars. Elar's is weirdly Jeckyll-and-Hyde when it comes to these qualities. Now, I would never have brought my car here if other options had been available to me. After a minor car accident, this was the most convenient location to which I could bring my car to assess the damage and do the repairs. My options were limited - those of you with experience with thing kind of thing know that you basically have to go wherever the insurance company of the person who hits your car (or your own insurance company, for that matter) tells you. When the time finally came to set up an appointment to get my front bumper repaired, I had one hell of time doing it. The owner (or manager?) was incredibly rude, telling me he hadn't received any information from the insurance company, that I should call back later, etc etc. Now all of this information was fine to convey, it was just that he was extraordinarily condescending and rude. After calling the insurance company, I called back. More rudeness - though by this time they had almost certainly received the necessary info. I finally lost my patience and informed him that he needed to stop being rude. He seemed a little put off, at which point, we set up an appointment for the car. What makes all this really weird is that the guy I dealt with at the shop a few days later - I think it really might have been the same guy - was one of the nicest people ever. Bent over backwards nice, as in, had one of his employees drive me to the el stop so that I didn't need to walk in the cold to get to it and take the train home. Left me a really nice message the following day that my car had been fixed sooner than expected. Was just as nice again in person. So....to sum up? When I need repairs again, I *might* come back here, depending on how they act. But I feel pretty ambivalent about the place. Take that as you will.

    Not a satisfied customer. This was the second Crash Champions location I left my vehicle at, and I…read morewould not recommend. To be fair, the staff were not rude for the most part -- however, I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the work and overall experience. My car was there for about a month and a half. Fortunately, I was able to track my vehicle and noticed it was being moved -- noticing I received it back with only half a tank of gas when it was full at drop-off. When I picked it up, pieces were still missing, and what should have been a 5 minute installation turned into another week. For context, my original damage was all exterior, yet when I received the vehicle the first time, my sunroof did not open. There is now also a hole in my glove compartment with thread coming out. There was very noticeable adhesive dripping and scratching on one of the parts (they did agree to replace it), and the vehicle was extremely dusty and dirty, clearly not cleaned or taken care of. My original tint was ceramic, but when I got the car back it wasn't -- and it was so dark it was definitely illegal. To top it off, my city sticker is also gone. By the end, I just wanted my car out of there. I strongly recommend choosing another location.

Repaired one side of my car and damaged the other side of my car. On top of that didn't finish the pin stripping on my car on the repaired side. Beware !!!
