She was clearly being hostile so I complements disengaged and said I was uncomfortable and would pay I just want to leave. Despite not arguing with her, she kept getting closer and closer in my face and i kept backing up and repeating myself after I paid about how uncomfortable she was making me and that I was ready to leave. They also provide free live entertainment in the lobby, where staff publicly argue with every single frustrated patient about how services and costs were "miscommunicated." It's a little bit like dinner theater, but with dental anxiety. You will be pressured into unnecessary services, while items are rapidly added to and removed from your bill like a shell game. Privacy is optional, as treatment plans and financial details are discussed openly, out loud, in front of everyone. They enthusiastically push services your insurance won't cover and that you don't need, and your total bill can swing hundreds to thousands of dollars with no clear or timely explanation. Personally, I was quoted a multitude of different costs across the same visits, sent a request to pay more than I owed, and was told I "wasn't allowed to leave without paying" despite no one being able (or willing) to provide an itemized ledger. She was sobbing and shaking and he was so loud that the receptionist came running. I had told the receptionist that she was not only very anxious/dealing with PTSD from prior difficult medical experiences, but that she was also very self-conscious and ashamed because of this, so she would cope best if they just go on with things and don't don't draw any extra attention to it. I don't know what she then said to HIM or what he heard in response, but his response was the most unhinged and unprofessional behavior I have ever witnessed. The receptionists and hygienists were mortified and apologized profusely for his behavior. Office manager (Dr. Valley's wife) offered a bland, profesionally distanced bit of nothing.
