Privacy is optional, as treatment plans and financial details are discussed openly, out loud, in front of everyone. They enthusiastically push services your insurance won't cover and that you don't need, and your total bill can swing hundreds to thousands of dollars with no clear or timely explanation. Personally, I was quoted a multitude of different costs across the same visits, sent a request to pay more than I owed, and was told I "wasn't allowed to leave without paying" despite no one being able (or willing) to provide an itemized ledger. Dr. Carlin insulted me by saying "hundreds of thousands" have used Invisalign and you seem to be the only one who has pain.". Perhaps he should read a few peer reviewed studies. I wanted to leave then but Dr. Carlin and his assistant blocked me in until I forced my way around them. Dr. Carlin said they would only charge me a lab fee, but he kept my $1600! Since I only needed a retainer and they were close by I came to see for myself. Dr. Ramaswami has done a few fillings and a crown on my daughter's teeth. She explains everything to my daughter that she's doing. And if I have any questions while she's working she'll explain it to me. When my daughter would start moving around or not doing what she needed to do Dr. Ramaswami would firmly, but kindly talk to my daughter. The dental hygentist my daughter normally sees (I forget his name). He talks to her about what he's doing in terms she can understand. He ends up making her laugh. My daughter enjoys getting her teeth cleaned. The people at the desk and scheduling have always been nice and make sure everything is ok. I highly recommend Discover Smiles.
