First of all, Scott is a hottie, and that is a perfectly fine reason to go see your dentist. :-) Above and beyond that, the hygenists are thorough and they give you tips about how you should take care of your teeth better (rather than just saying you need to brush or floss more) and they provide you with tools you may need to do that (i have these dental sticks that i absolutely hate) My dentist also takes care of bite issues, headache problems, and he gives a little temple massage during an examination that makes being in that God Awful chair just slightly more enjoyable. They were exceptional in helping with financing this operation. It was a very easy decision to use Elum. Pam was my aide after the implants were in and she was awesome, very attenditive, professional, friendly, very honest, patience and great on follow up. She made this experience very easy on me, as there was fear in doing this process. After the implants were done, my entire face was swollen and black and blue and it was traumatizing. However, this is normal when you do this extensive technique, as your gums and mouth is very sensitive. It is something you can't get around, but Elum reassured me during the whole process. I came in today for an ortho consult, even the front desk person admitted its not the docs specialty but they could see what she could do and I could have a consult. Since I only needed a retainer and they were close by I came to see for myself. Turns out she was not comfortable in what I was asking and charged 6x what others are without even looking in my mouth besides having me smile briefly, rest of time consisted of a tour of the office (bathroom, coffee, etc) and the dog gave me an over priced quote which should never happened over the phone then I was charged $80 for a consult which I wasn't made aware of until I left. when I questioned this, the front desk person had Christine come out and I expected to hear from her that maybe they are sorry but that's their policy etc.. but instead she raised her voice and was condescending and kept encroaching on my personal space despite me backing up repeatedly and letting her know she made me feel uncomfortable. She got mad and said you wouldn't go to Meijer and leave without paying for milk. She was clearly being hostile so I complements disengaged and said I was uncomfortable and would pay I just want to leave. Despite not arguing with her, she kept getting closer and closer in my face and i kept backing up and repeating myself after I paid about how uncomfortable she was making me and that I was ready to leave. I cannot imagine any worse treatment, do yourself a favor and find a professional that will be up front on their pricing and better yet that will offer complimentary consultations to ensure you're a good fit and definitely stay away if you don't enjoy being disrespected. Regarding your reply doctor Tenaglia, I cash guarantee your office did not inform me of the cost, please check your records. And as I'm new in town I checked with my former orthodontist and others in the area and they were shocked at what you did, completely unprofessional and disrespectful. We arrived 5 minutes early and checked in at the window. We sat in the waiting room for about an hour before I went up to ask questions. I realize delays happen in a medical office and me harassing them isn't going to get us called back sooner, but I was at my breaking point. Apparently there was some emergency surgery causing the delay. Like I said, the delay is not what is upsetting. It's the lack of communication. They could have called before we arrived and notified us they were running behind, or let us know when we checked in or at any point while we sat there waiting and apologized or offered to reschedule, but apparently none of the 4-5 women working in the reception office could be bothered to do such a simple and polite thing. The appointment itself took literally 2 minutes. What a waste of time. I should bill them, because you know they would have billed us if we didn't show.
