I must say we had a bad experience here. Not because of the doctor himself, but they made a goof of the billing and were completely unwilling to budge afterwards. We called in ahead of time and gave them the insurance information. My wife needed her wisdom teeth removed. They told us our insurance covers that. Great. So my wife went in and got the procedure done. Everything seemed super. Then... we got the bill. It was something like $400 - $500!! I'm like... what? Called them up and they're like, yeah, your insurance doesn't cover extractions. I told them that we verified this beforehand and you told us that they do cover extractions. She admitted that she said that and said she was just wrong. I'm OK, so what are you going to do about it? She's like... well, nothing, you have to pay. I'm like listen, you told me the price of the procedure up front. There were no complications and no extra charges. You can't just change the price on me by like $400 and just expect me to pay. We talked to her, her manager, etc. etc. Nobody was willing to understand. At the least, I expected to pay a reduced amount. That was my thought. It was your mistake, but I'm a reasonable guy. If the insurance is not going to pay you anything, then maybe we can split the difference. Nothing... no cooperation at all. I didn't want to deal with collections and risk my credit, so I just paid it. However, I will never go back and I will tell people I know about what they did. read more

I was supposed to have an appointment with a dentist a floor above Dr. Nasif. But because that dentist didn't take my insurance, they referred me to Dr. Nasif. I'm so glad they did! First, his office rocks because they take Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Second, I was unsure of what to expect, so I logged onto yelp RIGHT before my appt and saw all the five star reviews. Wheew. I felt a bit relieved. Third, my own experience was great. I was seen promptly. Everyone here is nice and they seem to enjoy working here (which is a HUGE plus). My xrays were taken and I found out they were digital so they could immediately see them on the computer screen! So high tech!! After the xrays, I saw the assistant wipe down everything for sanitation purposes. EXCELLENT!!! In case you are wondering, he graduated in 2004 from University of Michigan and worked in Florida for a year before moving to Chicago to start his own practice. The office was pretty booked but the staff really works with your schedule to fit you in. I did not feel rushed at all and I felt like Dr. Nasif really knew what he was doing. Dr. Nasif was gentle and not too rough on my teeth and gums. The cleaning was different from my usual cleanings in that they used baking powder crystals to clean my teeth. It was a little salty but I really liked it more than the usual polishing I get. I have experienced a lot of terrible dentists in Chicago and I feel really lucky to have accidentally found Dr. Nasif. I have bad teeth. Dr. Nasif is a good dentist. It works. Plusses: It's easy to get in for an appointment, conveniently located, and the staff is wonderful. Dr. Nasif is a great dentist, and has an excellent chairside manor. Also, though i have horrible health insurance, my dental insurance (Aetna) happens to be awesome, so I pay nearly nothing. The only Minus: Dr. Nasif is super cute (theoretically a plus, but it's hard to have a dreamy guy all up in your face telling you how nasty your teeth are). read more

I am the kid that has dental problems galore. You can chalk it up to bad genes for me as all the men in the family have weak teeth. Some say that we spend half of our life sleeping, but we here in our family spend half of our life in the dental chair. It is frustrating. Two years ago, I let my fingers do the walking and stumbled upon a gem of a dentist. His name is Michel Nasif. I strongly recommend Dr. Nasif, as he presents bedside manner like no other. He actually listens to you when you present your concerns and will do everything possible to appease the problem. And if he doesn't have the answers, he is not afraid to point you in other directions to potentially solve the problem. Prior to Dr. Nasif, I visited an array of dentists who hemmed and hawed and failed to lay out a game plan. I strongly urge anyone with dental problems---and there are many of us to consult Dr. Nasif. I usually get to the dentist twice a year...but somewhere in the past 2 years forgot until i started having some pain. My usual dentist, who I went to for 20+ years, is just not in a convenient location for me. My friend recommended Dr. Nasif. His office is half a block from my office, so I ripped off the band-aid and made an appointment. I called on a Thursday and they had an appointment for Friday afternoon! The staff is super friendly, efficient, and I had no problems with my insurance or forms as a new patient. Isabel, the assistant, took a whole set of Xrays, which you know can be uncomfortable, but she was really great. Explained the process and was gentle. Dr. Nasif did a very thorough examination and explained what was going on, in detail. He knew I was nervous but was very calming. Didn't rush through anything and even did the cleaning himself! I highly recommend him! Dr. Nasif is ridiculously good looking with a personality to boot. Quite distracting for a 29-year old girl, but makes for a pleasant hour. :-) read more

I had an appointment with Michel Nasif today. He cleaned my teeth to perfection and filled two cavities for me. The time that he took to clean my teeth was appreciated, because I've had some dentist that leave the cleaning to the techs or just clean it quickly and move on. It is extremely obvious that Dr. Nasif loves his job, because he will go the extra mile to make sure that your teeth are clean and that you understand what he is doing at all times. I was extremely nervous prior to my appointment, but he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable. He was professional, upbeat and knowledgeable. After the appointment, he gave me a CD of the photos of my teeth and Xrays free of charge! It also doesn't hurt that he's attractive and has a bubbly personality. I noticed some of the other reviews mention that his looks are distracting, but it's a welcomed distraction when you have a drill in your mouth or a needle. When he says,"Open wide", he's talking about your mouth only ladies so don't start daydreaming. ha ha ha He is a good dentist, and my mouth feels so smooth it feels like he polished away all of the damage of my 20's in one sitting. As a professional, he is more focused on your smile than his own, so I read reviews of others saying how flustered they were don't waste your time ladies, because he is just doing his job. On the other hand, I can agree that he's Dr. McDreamy, but none of that matters if you are only talking about teeth the entire time. Every time, I get the reminder card in the mail for my teeth cleaning I'm like yeeeeeeey my dentist is hot - ha ha ha! Nice to look at, but I keep it professional. Besides, last thing a person wants is their dentist getting mad at them. Side note: The funniest thing about this dentist office is that I've never seen women "prep" themselves before a dental cleaning. I've seen women rolling lint rollers over their clothes in the lobby, applying concealer, and brushing their hair non-stop. I guarantee you this man has a girlfriend so down girls! read more

I love Dr. Nasif! His office is located at a really convenient location for us Loop workers. It's easy to get an appointment. The office is very clean and everyone is so friendly! Figuring out my insurance coverage with them was very seamless and easy. I've seen Dr. Nasif for a handful of teeth cleanings (every 6 months) and also for a filling. The procedures are always painless and quick. You could definitely sneak out during your lunch break and be back at the end of the hour. Dr. Nasif and his dental hygienists continually ask about my comfort too, which is nice. We all know that keeping our mouths wide open for an extended period of time isn't easy, and for those of us with sensitive gums - OUCH! They've always been cautious and caring about any discomfort. They have always answered and addressed any questions or concerns that I had. Example of Dr. Nasif's Customer Service: I remember one time, there was a scheduling mix up for a cleaning I had (basically, I think Dr. Nasif had to respond to another patient's dental emergency). I was still able to get in the next morning, and because my appointment was rescheduled, Dr. Nasif gave me two movie passes! Totally unnecessary, but really thoughtful. read more

I've been to the dentist two times. One cleaning was VERY painful, the second time I requested a different hygienist and it was fine. I like the dentist as well...friendly and professional. And location is convenient. However, I have to complain about the accounting / billing of this office. It is awful and results in me not recommending this office. I have 100% coverage for preventative care with MetLife and never had to pay for a checkup or cleaning. However, they are trying to bill me for a higher rate for my first cleaning / check up because they invoiced me for a higher rate based on a different insurance plan. (Not sure why the billed rates are different for the same cleaning $80 vs $56). My insurance only pays $56 so there is a balance left over from my first cleaning. Still not resolved and I hate that I have to spend time during the work day dealing with this. FYI the billing office is the same as Dr. Priya Setty so you're likely to have the same problems with her. read more

For a few reasons I fell off dental insurance for a few years in college. Luckily my post-grad employer was in the same building, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Incredibly clean place, flexible and convenient appointment times (8:30-8:45 usually), and pretty straight forward and easy going dentist. I must say, I had braces growing up, so anything a doctor does that annoys or scares people doesn't even faze me. The only thing worth noting is I had to get a small filling and their office uses the more advanced fillings that are 'natural' color instead of the standard old grey or whatever. Nice cosmetic plus, but your insurance may not cover it 100% - just something to be aware of. No issues here, but don't believe they offer the traditional fillings. read more

I really like Dr. Nasif- he is laid back and he makes the experience as comfortable as possible (for being at the dentist). He knows what he's talking about and doesn't mind when I look over his shoulder and ask him a million questions about my x-rays and my teeth. He seems to actually be concerned about your well-being and your teeth instead of trying to charge for unneeded dental work. The office is clean and they have up-to-date equipment, which is always a good thing at the dentist. LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Nasif! I have been to many dentists around Chicago, and this office is by far, the BEST EVER. I called FRIDAY to get an appointment, and was able to get in the following Monday. No waiting around for 6 hours to be called back, I completed the paperwork, and was called in right away. The DH was cool, quick, and efficient, and called in Dr. Nasif to do the final evaluation. Not only is Dr. Nassif a complete hottie, he was thorough, gentle, super cool and has a great bed side manor. He discussed next steps with me, and I definitely look forward to going back. Good day. I have never posted a consumer review before but I would like to do so for Dr. Nasif and his staff. I generally am not a fan of going to the dentist but realize this is a task that I should do. Recently moving to Chicago my wife and I began a search for a dental office that we would be comfortable with, (after all, one is one's best advocate). My third appointment, (after trying one office, then another), was with Dr. Nasif's office. I have been very happy with all aspects of the office, Dr. Nasif's and his staff's work, their demeanor, the professionalism, and efficiency. This has been consistent every time I have gone to their office, (6 + with a couple of unscheduled emergency visits that were handled timely and very satisfactorily). My wife, (who was "scouting" other offices while I was), tried Dr. Nasif's office on my recommendation and is lock and step in with my conclusions. The reason why the 1 star - he failed on the filling side. I supposedly had a cavaity and he filled it. Two weeks later it hurt really badly. I went back and he refilled it (injection and all used again). Now 6 months later, the pain is still there and I had to go to another dentist who said that the "packing was not tight" and had to redo the filling for the 3rd time. Now the pain is gone. Not sure what happened to Nasif, but I think he is not paying attention. read more

I would avoid this dentist in the future. He recommended procedures to me which were not required, claims for which were rejected by the insurance company and I ended up paying all of the expenses, almost $1000 out of the pocket for something that was quoted to cost me only $400 out of pocket. I highly recommend Dr. Nasif! He uses the most current technology in his pratice; digital xrays and sodium peroxide cleanings. Though they keep current, the office has a welcome, umpretentious feel. Dr. Nasif is a knowledgable dentist with a great dispositionand doesn't suggest unnecessary dental work. I have genetically bad teeth, so I've been to lots of dentists over the years. Dr. Nasif is the best of the lot. I have been seeing him for five years. He always has cogent and understandable explanations for his care plan and never hesitates to answer my questions. Unlike other dentists I've been to, he never pushes treatments. He lays out the options and says "You let me know what you want me to do and when." His staff is friendly and everyone is concerned to make you comfortable and feel at ease. I've had a dentist glue in a crown and send me on my way to deal with the bad occlusion. When Dr. Nasif put in a crown, he kept checking, adjusting and asking how it felt until it was right. To me the most important thing in a dentist is having someone who knows what he or she is doing; good "chairside" manner is a bonus. With Dr. Nasif, you get the bonus! read more

I, like most people, don't exactly get excited about my dentist visits. But Dr. Nasif did an awesome job making me feel comfortable, and the entire staff was super friendly.
