I have a torn calf muscle so I am limited right now in life...I went here at 3pm on a Saturday and the truck was nowhere to be found...Two picnic tables were there and nothing else....I had to limp in discomfort about 600 'to get there only to find out nobody was there...Yelp states they are open till 6pm and Google which was updated just over a week ago states they are open till 8pm...I also checked their FB page but there was nothing on it about them not being there today...In fact the last update on their FB was May 16...I'm tired of these businesses that could care less about their customers. read more

Saw this on my way Northbound to PNW and now that i was southbound and bored of all the cookie cutter sweet/savory coffee stop snack food, i was ready to give this spot a try having read everyone's reviews. My base test is always a carne asada taco, Ahh man tender perfectly seasoned and cooked beef and so delicious! The carnitas were cooked Juicy and not crispy. Squeeze the lime on everything! Totally gonna be our regular food stop. When you need some real food on your road trip- def stop here in Weed and look for this taco truck -near Starbuck but across from Pilot Gas Station. I'm a So. I absolutely love both their locations! They have the best Carne Asada Street tacos on the planet complete with lime just the way I like it! Employees are always happy and kind, a lot of times you get to work with the owner at both locations the Yreka store the wife runs and the weed One over by Grocerie Outlet one runs! The reviews made my expectations for this truck sky high, but then I remembered where I was. I ordered 6 tacos - asada, carnitas, deshebrada, adobada, fish, and lengua. To keep the review short, I found every taco meh except for the asada and fish. The carne asada had a very very nice smokey flavor that you'd rarely find anywhere else. I found the salsa roja sweet and similar to marinara sauce. The fish taco was fried perfectly and had good crispiness. The other tacos I mentioned were either overcooked or lacked flavor. I've been spoiled by the taco offerings in Southern California and the tacos here are definitely more Americanized Tex-Mex style. read more

Trust your first thought. I'm working in town and had no idea of this place. As I pull up there are no customers around and it's next to a busy truck stop. I want to start by saying I eat Mexican food everywhere I go and grew up in San Diego and El paso. I love finding taco trucks and I happen to find El Zaguan on Yelp. I'm sooo glad I did!!! This place is legit! Some of the best AL pastor and carnitas I've had!!! This place is up there with the taco truck from Hamilton City and Gordo in Chico. These guys were from Tijuana originally and they knew what's up with Carne asada French fries!!!! As a so-cal kid, I grew up on this San Diego local dish. It's rare to find up in Northern California and the best I've had is from Sol in Chico. Normally, they aren't on the menu as they tried for a while and all the locals had no idea what they were missing and they soon came off the menu. Anyways, the first day I came here I got a AL pastor burrito for lunch, came back with a friend for dinner and got the carnitas burrito. Both were excellent. After speaking with the owners, he offered to make me his version of Carne asada fries!!! I was very excited and I got it with the al pastor. Money!!! This place is a gem in Northern California and you can't go wrong with a good pit stop in Weed!!! Maybe you'll get some munchies and get a bomb burrito at El Zaguan!!!
