Sergio was our server today, he made our family's dinner a thousand times better! The service was great, food was amazing & came out fast.

Myriam is the best always on top of drinks and service unmatched go see her cannot say enough about her service

OMG! best place for Mexican food since moving here from the midwest ... there are a slew of dives and mom and pop venues but I really LOVE El Torito as well as this location ... my favorites .... the fresh guacamole that they prepare right in front of you ... grilled chicken taco salad (i always ask to have the dressing and sauces on the side) ... enchiladas and street tacos ... YUMMMMM!!! read more

Great service, drinks and food as always. Bartender Maria is simply top notch. Kinda empty for a Taco Tuesday because the taco price is 2.99. But it the bar comes with rice, beans, sweet corn cake etc. This is my Taco Tuesday spot from now on. read more

Got there on Thursday at 230 PM. No one at the front to greet me or seat me for 15 minutes. Another couple walked in and finally a hostess shows up and the couple says she was here first. The girl says well I can seat you two now. Ok There were 5 of us ladies. They acted like it was a big deal to put two if their little tables together.we started with a skinny Hispanic waiter. Never said his name. We wanted and told him separate checks. It took forever to get the drinks. I guess he left because we had two other waitresses. A manager...I thought she was a manager came around to try to clear our tables and take our drinks before we were done with them. It was happy hour and they could have ordered many more drinks but no one asked. Then the final waitress brings one check. We told her we wanted separate checks. It took her at least 15 minutes to ask each of us what we ordered. I grabbed the "manager" and told her the terrible service we received. She only said sorry. Never offered another drink or to take anything off our bill. We will not be going to El Torito any time soon read more

We were greeted right away and seated quickly. Our server Destiny was wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. She was friendly and helped to made our Sunday brunch enjoyable. The mimosas and food were very good. read more

Janette kept those bottomless mimosas a-coming :). She was very attentive and our food was good!

Happy Easter! Thank you Mariela and Chantelle! Your service was fantastic! We had a great brunch. Food was delicious

First time going to this El Torito location and we can't express enough how happy we are with our experience. From the moment we walked in to the smiling welcoming faces of the hostesses (Alondra and Destiny), they were so attentive to making sure we were able to get a table in the bar area with a short wait time (first come style for happy hour). Our server (Cynthia) was so friendly and efficient, smiling faces everywhere. Our food came in a timely manner with no mistaken orders or half orders. Food was really good and the happy hour drinks were no disappointment. Drinks were not watered down. Definitely going back. read more

My server was nice, food was unacceptable. Ordered macho combo, taco was burnt, chili was not cooked all the way and was still hard and no sauce inside of enchilada. Ordered the maraposa margarita, had no flavor and did not do the color change that was described in the menu. Was our first date night since we had a baby and it was ruined read more

Finally the quarantine restrictions are easing up! My friends and I chose El Torito at the Riverside Plaza for our first get together in 8 weeks. I've eaten there before and it never disappoints! Our server, Vicente, was very attentive and gracious. Our Cadillac Margaritas were amazing, I ordered the Cesar Salad and it had huge chunks of Chicken. The prices went up, but I suspect that's probably true of all restaurants. If you're planning a night out with friends for good food and drinks this is a great place to try! read more

Coming out our food and drinks were amazing. Our server Destiny did a wonderful job. Thanks for the good time!

Awful! Just terrible. Service was good. This time at least the food was cooked, but that's the nicest comment I have. Chicken in my salad was full of bones and grizzle. It has been a long time since my last visit due to raw chicken it will be a lot longer before I forget how awful I feel. Thanks for the awful meal. read more

My cousin invited me to el torito happy hour on a Friday. I drove an hour and forty min in traffic only to find when we arrived at el torito they changed the happy hour time. Unfortunate, but oh well. We went to sit in the outdoor patio area. On our table was advertising that said "happy hour all night monday-friday after 2pm" Our waitress comes and we ask about happy hour again since the sign clearly says. All night after 2pm and she says "oh...no happy hour starts at 9pm." My cousin and I give each other a wtf look, but decide not to press the issue. The waitress is lucky my dad and her mom weren't her customers. They would have thrown a fit about false advertising and said she better give us drinks at happy the hour price. My cousin ordered a regular blended margarita, I ordered a rumchata. My drink tasted more like a pina colada than something inspired by an horcata. Not a fan. We finished our drinks and chips/salsa and were waiting to order another round and waited and waited... the waitress passed our table numerous times seen our empty glasses at the end of the table and pointedly ignored us. She served all the surrounding guest great. Bringing them a seconed drink before they even finsihed their first. I told my cousin she probably thinks we are cheap because we are young girls and asked about happy hour. It took me a few tries to get here attention. But I finally did. and ordered 2 blended margaritas, strawberry for myself. A waiter dropped them off within a few min but mine didnt have any salt. I love the salt! and the margarita was kinda weak. hardly any alcohol. The drinks and service were not good at all. I'll stick to Chilies happy hour, I usually never order off their happy hour menu anyway, and go for the expensive jose cuervo margaritas instead, but they have delicious chips and salsa and dont discriminate against the young and beautiful! lol. read more

Samantha our server was absolutely wonderful! She was very attentive to my table and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. The food is excellent and brought out fresh with no delay!! Definitely seemed like an experienced waitress who knows a lot about customer satisfaction!! My group went for Happy hour and the prices made everything that much better. Margaritas were super tasty and the food just as good! Great experience all around read more

Unfortunately this location gains customers by default. It's a real tragedy of a restaurant. I've finally sworn off of going here because the service is always between okay and terrible. Sadly Riverside's El Torito is never exceptional. Recently a manager, named Marina, refused service to groups or 3 or fewer-- part of a larger party, sitting on the outside patio.... there were about 40 of us. When inquired about extra tables and chairs Marina told me directly that I would have to go up front "make a reservation, get a regular seat, and that there was a long wait," according to Marina. Figuring she was new, I asked Marina how long she had been with the company, and she said, smugly, "long enough, you don't need to know more." If she were a member of my team, that would have been her last night. When I asked for her name, she appeared to deflect the last name on her badge. Therefore I don't have a proper spelling. Being unhappy, myself and 3 guests left, along with 15 others who had planned to dine at the restaurant. Clearly Riverside's El Torito needs a competitor. In a lean economy when you hire managers who turn away customers from empty booths, you've become too pompous. We spent our money at a locally-owned restaurant, for which I'm proud, and the food and service was fantastic. read more

This is a good restaurant. Not the best Mexican food in town but by far not the worst. My favorite time to go is on Sunday mornings for the all you can eat brunch. Its $15.95 per person and the selection is pretty good and the food is above normal buffet quality. They have a taco bar and an omelet bar. Come hungry to get your money's worth otherwise you'd be better off going to Farmer Boys or something. read more

I hate this place. Ok food at best and the prices are only ok and only during happy hour. Went here with my spouse who had her passport and they wouldn't give us a drink. Ridiculous I would never go here again. Lousy food and bad service CPK is a minute away and much better. read more

Arrived at the restaurant around Happy Hour (6:00pm) on a Thursday evening. As soon as we walked in (my girlfriend and I) we were bombarded with LOUD and OBNOXIOUS people in the restaurant. We looked for an open seat inside during the open-seating happy hour duration. With every seat taken and the fact that I felt like we were all watching the SuperBowl, due to how loud it was...we decided to eat in the "normal section". Long story short, our server was TERRIBLE. We ordered a Margarita and it didn't come for 25 min, so we canceled it. The fajitas that were WAY over priced, did not fill either of us up. And the guy just sat there apologizing over and over just to increase his tip. Sorry....I'm not going back. read more

I love coming to El Torito but sadly my experience here has not been a pleasant one. First I asked if I could sit outside and was told they would have to check if it was ok, although I noticed there were people sitting outside already. When the hostess returned I was told it was ok to sit outside, but questioned why I would want to sit in the heat!?! That is obviously my decision, right? It took about 10 minutes for a waitress to come and take my drink order. I ordered a Blackberry Cadillac margarita. When the waitress returned she came back with a regular Cadillac margarita and also forgot the shot that it comes with. I told her it was ok to have the regular margarita, she then proceeded to get my shot and it took another 5 minutes. It doesn't get better. I ordered the Jalisco tacos (beef barbacoa). The presentation looked fabulous, however the quality and lack of meat was terrible. Tacos were packed with grilled onions, peppers and lots of cheese, but very little meat and whatever meat was included had lots of fat and grizzle! I only ate one of the three tacos. Beans, rice and salsas were good, which is mostly what I ate. Don't think I'll be recommending or visiting this place any time soon! read more

I usually come here for happy hour: 3p-7p, although they don't advertise happy hour anymore. I usually get a cranberry vodka and my bf gets whiskey coke. Today, both of our drinks were so water down. I could hardly taste any alcohol. It was a joke that they would even serve us such drinks. We wont come back here again. read more

Always nice when you see your server once every 30 minutes then when you go and see where he's at you find him just standing there at the front having a conversation. Great job today guys. Ridiculous. read more

My body was ready. I had a long week and I just wanted some soup and possibly to chug a whole thing of Nyquil to make it all go away. We stopped by El Torito for lunch because it walking distance from the vicinity of the errands we had to run. Normally I would get something gut busting like the super pick 3 mega cheesy combo but I asked the waiter what I should get and he said the Abondigas. I was sad. I love homemade Abondigas but the El Torito version was like a bad remake like the Karate Kid. It just left a bland gross taste in my mouth. The chips and salsa are good for a chain restaurant and I like how they let you take a to-go cup of whatever drink you ordered. It's a nice place but far from good Mexican food and I should know. I'm 100% Asian. read more

So tonight I went to go celebrate my friends birthday. she had arrived at 6pm and informed the host that she was going to have a party of 10. By the time I arrived at 7pm there were 15 in our party, and they didn't even have the table for ten ready. In fact, after looking at the list, it was apparent the host didn't even write her name down. The hostess then argued with my friend about her even being there that early, and my friend requested to speak with the manager. She told the manager what had happened up till that point, and the manager said she couldn't do anything about it, and that our party had to wait for another 20 minutes. As she said this, there were three open tables next to us. We asked if we could have those, and the manager refused us, stating that even if we were all paying separately, one of the tables was in a different section. I asked if the servers could just trade the table and again we were refused. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we started discussing other local options to dine at, and THAT is when they finally started to round up a table for all of us. Fortunately, we didn't eat there. My friend called Ooka, the Japanese restaurant and they confirmed that they did have seating available for us immediately. I will most definitely not return to this place, if they are not interested in serving a large party that will give a guranteed 18% tip. read more
