The hostesses really need to be nice. Everyone they talked to they were really rude, especially one girl who had a high bun on Sunday. She made every customer feel really stupid for putting their name in to eat. I work as a server at a restaurant and I would be really upset if my customers were being treated like that when they first came in. I saw multiple people leave because of her. read more

I usually don't review big chain restaurant, however I wanted to write about the awful tasting food from this restaurant. The restaurant is so crowded with people that the wait is long. The menu is not big at all, it only has the Americanized Mexican food that people actually like. Instead of having birria, tortas, sopes, carnitas, etc. they have shredded beef tacos, nachos, and fajitas which are nothing great. I ordered a entree that comes with 2 tacos, rice and beans; the beans were cold and the rice tasted like it was just made by adding water. The prices are average, however they are similar to those of authentic Mexican restaurants which I prefer. The service is not that great either since the waiters are very forgetful. I would never set foot on this restaurant again, unless I am invited here. read more

Sunday brunch here is well worth the visit!! The service here is incredible. Love my bartenders Maria,Delishea,Miriam, etc. They engage the guests w/ their hospitality. The champagne used is delicious. I recommend going to this location on Sunday than any brunch around the IE. read more

They will turn away paying patrons. There were an abundance of empty tables, inside and outside. Yet there were ALOT of families outside waiting to be seated. Refused to even add our name to the waiting list because "brunch will be over soon" How do you know we wanted to eat brunch? Can you say clusterfukk? We ate at a much better restaurant either way :-) read more

Been here multiple times and this time was not a good experience. Not only did the prices not match what is posted on their menu but the manager denied what the menu said is the price. I visited on 12/27/2015 in the evening. Most likely will not be coming back here again. read more

Service is the reason why we continue to come back, the food is a bonus! Our bartender Myriam is the best! If you haven't came here your missing out. Stop by and say hi to Myriam on your next visit. read more

El Torito is my favorite Mexican chain restaurant. I've been to them all over Southern California. There Tortila soup is the best. Great Food, Prices, & service. they also have a great happy hour. Highly recommended! read more

The food was good. But the service sucked. They made me wait over 30 minutes to get seated at 9:15 am. They had just open. Their reason for it, that my half of my party had not showed up. Forget the fact that we could have been ordering and making a larger bill. Then they worried more about my brothers alcoholic drink than bringing my daughter a refill. Not a good day to go is Sundays. read more

Jonovan Acosta is awesome! I love the mimosa brunch, great service! Will return soon!

I love el torito! Its a great place to meet up with friends and have a drink! They have good and great drinks! The staff is always friendly! read more

My coworkers and I saw an ad for the $6.99 all-you-can-eat soup and salad so we wanted to give it a try since it is our favorite type of lunch. The server was very attentive and courteous, but unfortunately, he had no knowledge of the special. The ad indicated we could choose albondigas or chicken tortilla. The only choice for salad was the caesar with cilantro lime dressing. The server charged me full price for the albondigas and did not want to give me a refill. I explained what the ad stated regarding the AYCE and he went to check with the manager and ended up having to change the bill for me. The food was ok and I always enjoy the fresh chips and salsa but not sure if we will return for lunch again. read more

The food is delicious!! Bartenders make the best margaritas in town. Their customer service is superb. When you walk in you're greeted with a friendly smile. The servers are on top of it making sure you the customer is satisfied with the service. I enjoy coming here for happy hour and taco Tuesday! Best margaritas and tacos in town!! read more

One star is pretty accurate. We came for the Mother's Day Champagne Brunch. We were extremely disappointed. The wait was terrible. The hostess was even worse. The entire process was completely disorganized. After a 2 1/2 hour wait, we were seated. The food was just ok. Tamales were all masa. The menudo was very fatty. The michelada was all Clamato. No part of this experience was worth the $27 meal. My mom deserved much better than this. read more

This place is awesome is great for unlimited mimosas and great service! Cynthia the server and Hugo are amazing! On Saturday and Sunday they have a large buffet! Highly recommended! read more

So we went for Sunday brunch which was a buffet with a wide variety of foods and Surprisingly the food tasted really good and authentic loved the ambiance and the service although since it was a busy time was a little slow but over all great experience would definitely recommend if you're a fan of Hispanic foods. My favorite was the taco stand with a person hand making tortillas loved it! read more

Great location clean in and out of resturant, was slow yesterday Monday evening but nice with not so much noise. We ordered the Carne Asada plate it was served very beautifully lovely plate. Chips and Salsa very good as well and our server very polite and talked English a plus. The only problem was meat was a little tuff. But overall would go back. read more

All staff I saw were wearing masks correctly. They were polite and upbeat. Victor P was our server, he was friendly and a great server. The fish and shrimp tacos were delicious, even better than I remembered. read more

We celebrated a 50th birthday party during Sunday brunch. Our waiter, Victor P was awesome! Our party size was more than 20, including children. Besides the countless requests made for beverages, he continually returned throughout our dining experience to ensure every guest was accommodated. I made a point to inform the Manager of his superior service, but I felt it also warranted this review. I, as well as guests who attended on yesterday, all agree we will definitely return for future celebrations. We certainly hope we're greeted and treated with the same courteous, accurate, and attentive service provided by Victor. read more

Been there a few times, and I love it everytime I go. Food is aways good. And the waiters and hostesses are always friendly and attentive.

I went here the other day and I'm sorry because I know a lot of people like this place. The only good thing I can say it they have a nice set up restaurant, but the Mexican food doesn't taste authentic. I've been here quiet a few times and just couldn't get into their food. In a nutshell its a step up from Taco Bell but not the Mexican food I expected. read more

I am very disappointed with my long awaited visit to el torito riverside plaza. I walked in to very rude greeters, then only to find the only table available still has the left over food on it. It took fifteen minutes before they even came to clean. When we finally got out order taken, she ends up getting the order wrong. The service was terrible still even though it got less packed. I had to ask for everything. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Service was mediocre. Staff seemed to be shorthanded and not very many patrons. Waiter didnt write down beverage order and got a drink wrong, and brought no water. We waited nearly 10-15 minutes for an extra salsa. We had to ask for drink refill, napkins; And we had to ask another waiter for the salsa because our waiter never brought it. Mexican Caesar salad is GOOD Salsa good Chicken Enchiladas not good Tamales ok, green sauce too tangy Cheeseburger for child was bland and seemed like a frozen patty. They don't serve a child size bean burrito at a Mexican restaurant. 2 childs meal, a salad, appetizer, a drink cost $36. If the other waiters were as disconnected as ours, I would have given this restaurant 1 star. read more

Terrible restaurant. I asked for water and they left me for 10 minutes without coming back. Then I picked up a plate from table and salt fell off the whole table. THEY OBVIOUSLY DONT CLEAN THEIR PLATES! read more

Today we had Brunch at El Torito and everything was fantastic! Waffles and chilaquiles were really good, and of course the mimosas! Alex was our server and he was great. Very attentive and kept our drinks full. Will definitely ask for Alex next time, and can't wait to go to brunch again! read more

Sunday brunch is my favorite highly recommend and great customer service. Mimosas are yummy

If you go to El Torito in the Riverside Plaza you must ask for Vicente as your waiter. He is awesome. Fast, attentive, friendly and he knows what he is doing. It is a joy to be in his section. He is the best waiter we have ever had, in any restaurant, over many years of eating in restaurants in Riverside. Vicente is the man! read more

Used to give them 5 stars but after the last 3 orders I've changed it to 1. First, these are all delivery orders. I ordered chips and salsa last time for $5 but instead of the regular size they gave me a tiny courtesy size chips & salsa. Called and spoke with the manager and she said all my other orders they gave me the wrong size. Makes no sense that I have to pay $5 for courtesy chips. This time I ordered the 2 salad add-on. It feeds 2. I asked for enough lettuce and dressing for 2 salads. Instead they gave enough for 1 person. The doordash driver asked for a dressing for the 2nd salad & they refused. Tired of fighting with them. Why do they treat to-go customers so poorly? We're not in their eating all their FREE chips&salsa, messing up their tables & dishes and requiring paid food staff to wait on us. Give us some chips & salsa for gosh sake & enough dressing for the salad we paid for!!! read more

Stopped in before a movie and ordered some Cadillac's & appetitizers. We couldnt taste any alcohol but went ahead & ordered a second. Same thing- Cadillac's with no alcohol! The streets tacos & nanchos were good but it would of been nice to taste the alcohol in the Cadillacs read more

Just had a great meal with fantastic servuce. Cynthiana S your customer service rocks. Thanks for the great service.:)

Do not go to this location. First off, the female manager is a liar. The server charged my card for the wrong table and when I questioned her about it, she gave me a BS excuse that it was a "pre-authorization fee" hmmm nice try sweetheart but it's illegal to charge a fee without consent. When I came down to the location to talk to the GM, Hugo, he was very pleasant and offered a free meal. I came back a week later and sat at the bar and against was disgusted. The female bartender was more interested in texting than her customer service. We had the 1800 fijas, which the onions and still not cooked all the way. Definitely never returning to this location. But thank you Hugo for being polite and I'm sorry you have to deal with a staff like yours. read more

The bartender's at this bar make it the best place for drinks in the Riverside Plaza! The bartender Kuko's service is always aware and attentive, regardless of how busy they are! As he always says: "Whatever you need we'll make it happen!" --Kuko read more

No more Grand Marnier on their Cadillac Margarita. This is what El Torito was know for; their margaritas. Can't even pay extra to add because they don't carry it anymore. Looks like time to find a new place for margaritas. read more

Alex was awesome and the food was great, the sense of humor was a nice surprise and made for a very pleasant dinner , highly recommended

Today is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that I have gone to this el torito and not get served in the bar area... This time the "host" came to the table and tells me that the bar isn't open seating... No sign anywhere and had an attitude with me... I'm done with this place. They need to work on their customer service!!! read more

Myriam was an awesome bartender! Super fast with bringing drinks, and super friendly!! I recommend the Cadillac margarita!!

My family and I came all the way to Riverside plaza exclusively to eat lunch at this restaurant and we are informed that they are not serving anything but brunch with costs $23 . We are very upset because we wanted to order certain plates that are not included in brunch and not be forced to spend more money. Not coming back for sure! Going to Islands across the way. read more
