El tacaso is open 24hrs I've never been there at night but I love going early on a Sunday to reverse the effects of a Saturday night I've eaten here a couple times but mostly to go It's a small simple dining room. Clean and quiet except for the sound of the ladies toiling away in the kitchen... Their breakfast burritos are stuffed with copious amounts of eggs and your choice of fillings We go all the way Chorizo potatoes cheese bacon Go big or go home amirite? Okay so El Tacaso basically has me in a chokehold right now. I've visited 3 times already in one week & don't regret it one bit. I first came here on Labor Day after a high energy pool party & needed something to fill my stomach quick. I'm unsure if the inside is ever open because each time I've came you could only order at the window. Each visit I've ordered their $8.99 taco combo with Barbocoa tacos on corn tortillas, rice & beans & a nice cold drink! I like that they aren't stingy with their meat & topping's; however, I would recommend that they use two tortillas for the corn tortillas. About time I'm home & ready to dive in they fall apart as I'm picking them up. Other than that the meal does what it's supposed to & that's to make me happy & off to sleep. Now don't expect some fancy tex-mex place. You're gonna get authentic tacos that you will crave all the time at almost midnight. Just get the good cheap eats & go on your way! read more

My parents used to bring me when I was a kid, the place looks different but the service is AWFUL! There's always a cashier with long hair in a ponytail and she's extremely rude to costumers, always has an attitude, even to the elderly and gets the order wrong. This place used to be so much better. Not really sure what happened but we stopped by today to eat and we were very disappointed. The Gorditas were very greasy and filled with burnt fajita. The rice & beans were cold. I paid for guacamole and got a chunk of avocado. My husband spat his food out it was that bad. The soda machine needed to be replaced because all the drinks tasted bad. They deserved zero stars and that's sad because it used to be my favorite place. read more

I'm giving a 5 star because the food is good, but the customer service could be better....I've been coming to this location for 10+ years and when the older women were there they were patient and so nice now that the younger ones are employed they have no manners...they need to be more attentive to the orders, make sure the order are correct, update the website to reflect changes such as the prices, separate the orders/prices instead of one card for all orders, and remember the customer is always right, don't be argumentative....after paying over $60 dollars it will be a while before coming back for those reasons after today 2/10/22 so maybe changes will be in effect. read more

Wait time was about 8 minutes for my 3 breakfast tacos and a gordita. Chorizo con papas taco was very good, the gordita de rajas con queso is bomb. I would recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for some authentic Mexican tacos. 24 hours and on my way to work? I'm eating too many tacos. Tacos are $1.25, then about $2 with cheese. So far every time I go, I get one more than I did before. This morning I got four. Two chorizo and two barbacoa. Both with eggs and cheese . Total was just under seven bucks. Both were amazing. My to-go bag came with two hot sauces, plenty of cilantro, and a couple limes. The building is fairly clean on the inside and there's a whiteboard with all of the rotating specials. Service is very friendly, though sometimes hard to understand. If you get there too early, the lobby won't be open and you have to order at a walk-up window. Not sure when this cutoff is, but it looks to be around 7am. Coffee is alright. Not amazing, but inexpensive and better than some of the surrounding donut shops. There's lunch specials and plate deals that I have yet to try, but maybe one these days I'll pull away from the flour tortilla tacos and try one. read more

I rarely write reviews here. But I had to make an exception in this case for the worst breakfast experience I have ever had in Dallas. I live less than a mile from El Tacaso and I have stopped in for tacos in the past and they have been very good. This morning I went in and placed a to go order at 7:05 for huevos rancheros overeasy and 4 breakfast tacos to bring back home for the family. I speak Spanish but the man working spoke English to me so I ordered in English. He wasn't friendly but he didn't really seem friendly to anyone so I didn't think much of it at first. After 40 minutes, I finally got my order. Four different groups of people who all ordered after I did had all gotten their food first. Several had already had time to eat it and leave. It appears that they didn't even start making my food until they made the food of everyone else who came in after me. I was not happy about it, but I finally had the food and took it home. The tacos were ok. I am conscious of the fact that my experience with the ridiculously horrible service may have affected how I thought the food tasted. So when I say that the tacos were "ok", maybe they were great and I was just upset at the way I had been treated. The eggs, however, were not overeasy. It is not difficult to slightly miss the mark on overeasy so that the yolk is not very runny. These eggs were so overcooked that I needed a knife to cut the yolk. I don't know why I was treated so poorly. I was the only white customer this morning, so that may have been a factor. Or maybe they just have a policy of always cooking the orders for people who are going to eat there before those of anyone who orders to go? Who knows? What I know is that I will never be back. Fortunately, there are many other great places in Oak Cliff to get breakfast tacos. read more

Terrible customer service. My dad and I stopped to grab some food on the way home. The woman at the window had an attitude towards my dad and then towards me. My dad asked her a simple question and she got annoyed. I was trying to order my food and my sisters and she couldn't understand me. I was speaking English and had to speak Spanish and she still couldn't understand me? She was speaking Spanish, how does she not understand it? Not only that but they got some of our items incorrectly and they were very unprofessional. I had to intervene between that woman and my dad because she was just horrible. Just went there to order to go tacos with beans and rice. I sat at the table waiting for my order when she brings me out a plate. I told her my order was to go and she rolls her eyes at me. She also forgot to add beans and rice and I got more attitude about that. When I paid with a $20.00 she made a big deal about it cause she didn't have change. I asked for salt packets to go and she said they were out. When I got home my tacos were all over the place. Beans and rice were mixed together. The corn taco shell was wet and mushy. Paid and after waiting an inordinate amount of time I asked about the tacos and they had been sitting there for a while. Meat was not finely chopped, but chunks of meat that were unevenly cooked due to the varying sizes. Not enough onion and cilantro. Ordered 10 tacos and was given a spoonful of onions and a spoonful of cilantro. Ugh! Don't get me started on the runny salsa and that they only had one mild option. I ordered my usual. A bacon and egg taco with potatoes on a flour tortilla. The hot sauce is homemade and almost worth the trip.
