Morcajete

Service was great! Very attentive. Ambiance was nice and pleasant. Food lacked a little bit of sabor. Ordered the morcajete and shrimps were a little dry and sauce did not have spice!

Ordered through DoorDash. I ordered the shrimp steak and chicken that was supposed to be grilled on some sort of a lava container. The shrimp was not clean properly so it's an edible. I'm sorry, but I don't pay to have my dinner prepared for me with the poop sack left intact. Number two the meet itself was full of wrestle and just generally bad quality meat. The overall quality of the burrito was lackluster and tasted terrible

We had a great experience at El Sitio overall and would absolutely return. We ordered family-style for a party of 8, and honestly, we were nearly full just off the appetizers alone. Everything was flavorful, well-presented, and perfect for sharing. The tableside guacamole experience was the only dish that fell a little flat for us; it was a bit bland compared to everything else and didn't quite live up to the hype. By the time the entrées arrived, we were already stuffed but the food was so delicious it was hard to put the fork down. Every dish was a hit, and we ended up with plenty to take home. Bonus points: everything reheated really well the next day. The drinks were also solid, well-balanced, and enjoyable throughout the night. Our server was fantastic, super friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. Every suggestion they made was a win. The biggest downside of the night was the initial arrival experience. We had reservations and arrived a bit early to check in. Despite an empty table right in front of us, we waited about six minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Several employees walked right past without eye contact or even a quick "we'll be right with you." Six minutes may not sound long, but it feels like a lifetime when you're being completely ignored. We didn't mind waiting, it was the lack of acknowledgment that was frustrating. This seemed to be a common issue, as other guests waiting to be seated were clearly growing frustrated as well. As a large party, we expected the food to take some time, which was totally fine. Apps came out quickly, but when it came to the entrées, smaller tables that ordered after us were served first. It felt like smaller tables were prioritized to move food out faster, even though our meals could have reasonably come out within that same window. Despite those service hiccups, we truly had a great time. Everyone loved the angel wings at the entrance and the gingerbread display in the hallway, which added such a fun, festive touch. All in all, excellent food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere with just a few service details that could use improvement. Thanks for a memorable night!

The food was out of this world. And the drinks were phenomenal. The wait was 40mins but the service was TERRIBLE. We were seated on a table right on the other side of the bar. The bartender probably should not have been our server poor guy. Tons of staff walked by without even offering water. I would go back with a reservation IN the bar because the food and drinks were so good Parking was not easy.

My husband and I have come across several ads online for this place so we finally decided to eat there for the first time last month for our anniversary. Lets just say it was good to give them a try, but I unfortunately don't see us returning any time soon. Not to mention, parking was atrocious since it's in Downtown Oly, so we were driving around for about 5-10 minutes just to find street parking available a few blocks away. The customer service, I will say, was outstanding from the time I made a reservation in advance (the person I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant) to being greeted when we entered the restaurant and getting to interact with our waitress for the rest of the evening. Everyone was very nice, which was wonderful and something I would expect from an establishment in which the aesthetic and menu are on the "upscale" side. Our waitress, Laura, was very helpful and patient with us since we couldn't decide on what we wanted to try. Since bone marrow was on the menu and we had never had it before, we ordered this to share. Realistically, the portion isn't exactly best to share between two people; if it was just me I could've eaten all of it by myself. It was good though and the flavor wasn't too overwhelming. I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be small. We ultimately ordered the Parrillada to share which came with a lot of different meats and sides. Upon first impression, it was pretty impressive, but after eating through some of it along with the sides we were a little disappointed. Although the chicken was flavorful, it was dry and not really fun to eat. The beans and rice portion compared to all the meats you get was lacking, I was surprised that they provided so little of each in just small bowls; how do you expect to share that between 2 or more people at the table? The Papa Al Horno was honestly the best-tasting thing we had on the table; the portion was just right, everything was flavorful and juicy. We shared a churro cheesecake (I believe this was a special?) which was pretty small in size, but good nonetheless. The overall feel for our meal was just average. I love Mexican food, but in comparison to other places I think you could get just as good or better food from a family-run hole-in-the-wall find. Who knows, maybe one day we'll give this place another shot, maybe we just needed to try some of their other items instead.

Wonderful service and great atmosphere. Food was delicious. Fiancé ordered something that came in a pineapple. Had a few bites and think I might have to make the hour+ drive just to order that. One thing I was expecting was complimentary chips and salsa which was not provided. That's my inner fat kid complaining about that.

Loved this restaurant, and the food was great. We will be returning soon. Wait, the staff was kind, and the decor was nice. Things to know: This restaurant is located inside the doors to the left. This was our first time, and I didn't know where to go once we walked into the open area. The door handle is low. Parking is free after 5 pm. Parking can be scarce, and you may need to park a few streets away. This restaurant is located across from the park. They have outside the main door a cute photo opportunity with wings/halo and the name of the restaurant. The restrooms are decorated like tiki huts. Prices are reasonable considering the great flavor of the food.

El Sitio is our GO TO for date night and when we have guests in town! Great service, great food, fair prices, and awesome table side shows! They make the guacamole table side and do the mezcal shrimp flame cooking. Always a showstopper!

After seeing many ads for El Sitio and wanting to stop in I finally had the opportunity to check it out. It wasn't dinner, just a snack but wow was it good. I look forward to going in for a full meal sometime soon. Service was great and prompt. I expected the inside to be a little fancier for what I had seen from the ads and the fancy menu items. It wasn't as plush as I expected but I was also there during the day when the lights were brighter. I also understand the building is an older building and some of the esthetics can be charming but this felt a little worn. I was happy with my visit and highly recommend the Elote corn and Michelada!

I brought my friend here for dinner last night for her birthday. The food was excellent. She had the papa El Horno and I had the Pulga Cito. Super delicious with some tableside, guacamole, sangria, and a lovely churro cake dessert. Our waitress made my friend's birthday special and I really appreciated it. Well done!

Their skinny margaritas is where it's at! Only natural good stuff and they're yummy! The molcajete's have a nice broth to them (with chorizo) but they do lack the chunk of queso fresco I'm used to. The menu says cheese but it's more like a sprinkle. :( The meats are often over cooked too. Sometimes the shrimp are mushy they're so over cooked. If it weren't for the great flavor of the broth, I'd say RUN. Their beans and rice are great and their green salsa is flavorful too. They offer a salsa trio but the red salsa lacks flavor and the creamy salsa is like something you'd want with fried calamari. I do really like their chile rellenos. The serving is quite large and the batter on the chile is nice. It's not too eggy and has flavor. They use more like a Jack cheese inside (no meat) and that's exactly how I love it. The staff is so wonderful! They're talkative and just welcoming and friendly. It's a open dining room with a mix of booths along the sides and individual chairs in the center of the room. There's no AC so they open the windows to allow air flow which is usually just fine even on hotter days. Overall, I think this is a fun place to take out of towners for drinks and something different. There's a cute photo op piece just outside the front entrance that is great for the 'gram. Reservations are recommended in the evening hours. Daytime is usually fine to walk in. A Saturday night will get you a laugh even if you try to stop for a drink (happened to me once, couldn't even sit at bar).

It was also super soggy and greasy, to the point where the bottom bun was soaked through. The taste was good, but the bun was not great. My wife's friend got the hot Italian sandwich. It is a huge sandwich, and she said it tasted good. However, her bun was also a soggy mess when the food came. The server did bring a new roll for her. I even went to Stewart's meats out in Roy (where we normally buy big meat packages from) and did a test trial. Let them defrost in the fridge for a day or so. Northwest meats was brown and had a foul odor, Stewart's meats was juicy with blood and no odor at all. Conclusion made. They sold us rotten meat. Not cool for the food industry. Have some standards. That could have made someone really sick had they not known and eaten any of it.

The server apologized and quickly got us a new coffee! Accidents happen so we were just happy with the quick response to the issue. We ordered the chicken and waffles, Dungeness crab Benedict, and their classic sausage and eggs plate. Chicken and waffles were super good! Crispy chicken, and the waffle was nicely cooked. It also came with a piece of bacon which brought a good saltiness to the syrup. The Dungeness crab Benedict was also amazing! Instead of a crab cake patty, it was just Dungeness crab on top! Definitely prefer it this way because other restaurants tend to skimp on the crab when they do a patty version. The hollandaise sauce on top was nice and creamy and the eggs cooked perfectly. At the end of our meal, we did get the pie of the day. It's a rotating pie everyday. That day, the pie was a blackberry and peach pie. When the pie came out, it was well plated and the crust was flaky and hot. However, the blackberries were still a little frozen on the inside, so I don't think they allowed the pies to thaw out thoroughly before baking. In general, I would give this place a 4 out 5 stars just because service was good and the rest of the food was delicious. The restaurant itself is huge with lots of space for customers. They have a somewhat open kitchen concept, if you walk towards the bathroom you can see the cooks working hard in there. Cool environment and if you're looking for a place to have brunch and drinks I would recommend visiting.

We dined there for happy hour for our anniversary, and the interior was amazing. It's dark inside with a cool speakeasy in the back. I never saw what it looked like before, but I can tell the time and effort that went into redesigning it definitely shows. Happy hour is available only in the bar side so if you make a reservation and looking for happy hour, I would put it in as a request so that you get the right seating. I believe happy hour is between 4 - 5:30 on the weekdays. Not too sure about the weekends but call and ask. Now for the food. We started off with a dirty martini and it was good 10/10. Got the happy hour Caesar salad which is a good size for 1-2 people. Then we ordered the shrimp Diablo but they accidentally gave us the wrong one but said we could keep it. I didn't get the name of the dish but it was soooo good. It was shrimp and beef with the beef laying in a peppery creamy sauce on the bottom. Steak was cooked perfectly and so was the shrimp. Next we got the shrimp cocktail, amazing as well. Then we got the steak frites. It's a good size for 1-2 people for the happy hour menu. We ordered a medium rare, and we ordered another one medium. The sauce that comes with it was amazing. Overall, if you're looking for a good happy hour or a nice place for drinks, I highly recommend visiting. The owners, Shane and Jennifer, went to each table asking customers what they liked and what could be changed to improve their experience. Very good to see on a grand opening. Now, for the rest: Atmosphere: Picture an Italian restaurant from the 30's or 40's in Las Vegas, Chicago or New York. Very classy but definitely not stuffy or dated; something like Sinatra, Martin and Davis would go to. I would return for just the experience. Service: Top notch. The servers make you feel welcome as if you were part of the "Old Neighborhood." Our server, Bradford was amazing. Very attentive, knowledgable and friendly. I asked him for his opinion as to how my steak should be cooked and told him I didn't want it bloody. He explained the difference between dry-aged (Something Ricardo's does in house.) and store bought meat. I took his suggestion, Medium Rare, and it came out perfect. The FOOD!!! : As I said, my steak was perfect. The wife had some fancy pasta dish that I can't pronounce. I'm not a pasta-guy but what she had was delicious and not over/under cooked. I ordered the house salad, another thing I don't usually do, just for this review. The vegetables came out fresh, crisp and colorful; I actually finished it. For dessert, we shared the Creme Brûlée flight. The flavors were Vanilla, Peach and Lemon. I enjoyed each but the Lemon was out of this world! (My spouse just told me she had the Burrata Pasta. =) Top Secret: There's a speakeasy behind what appears to be a freezer door. The interior looked amazing. I'll be going there on my next visit. My thoughts: The owners, Shane and Jennifer knocked it out of the park! From what I heard, there'll be a Happy Hour menu with more choices. Times are tough all over; even businesses are feeling the pinch so Shane & Jen will make every effort for you to enjoy your experience at Ricardo's! This isn't your ordinary steak house, and there's more to the menu than just steak. As for my humble opinion, you owe it to yourself to enjoy an amazing time. Life's short... enjoy it!

They cooked our vegetables separately in the back so they wouldn't get mixed with the mushrooms, and kept the shrimp on the other side of the grill from our chicken so we didn't have to deal with the seafood flavors. I really appreciated that! My daughter got the fried rice and watching the chef make everything was so much fun. Our chef was really nice, entertaining and clearly knew what he was doing. We did tell them we didn't like shrimp, so they didn't do the whole throwing-shrimp-in-your-mouth thing with anyone at our table. She was pleasant and sat us in the sunshine on the patio. I was sad to see so few patrons. I will review the best part first: THE COCKTAILS: The spirits and craft cocktail selection was huge / the beer & wine not so much. My Old Fashioned was perfect! Food: Seafood Rosé Pasta (bay scallops, shrimp, northwest manila clams, rosé prosecco cream sauce, grilled bread) -- inconsistent cook on the different seafoods & the sauce was meh. Not worth $42.00 Grilled Romaine Salad (white balsamic bleu cheese dressing, gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes, aleppo toasted hazelnuts) -- plenty of romaine, could've been grilled longer / not much quantity of tomatoes or toasted hazelnuts -- basically a "side salad" for $15.00 Lobster Bisque (house smoked tomatoes, roasted red pepper, cream, butter poached langoustine lobster) -- tasted more like roasted tomato / red pepper soup (no lobster or seafood flavors) - there were 4 small pieces of poached?? langoustine lobster on top - I question poached because the pieces definitely had a bite to them. Worth $15.00 -- no. Due to reviews we had the Baklava Crumble (pistachios, honey, vanilla ice cream) -- basically cut up (very chewy, not crispy) baklava tossed over ice cream for $14.00 -- maybe a bad night for this dessert? We like to support small Olympia businesses and will go back for cocktails but the food costs are too high - we don't mind high costs IF we come away satisfied - unfortunately the food didn't measure up to the cost. As we drove away, we saw the "Budd Bay Cafe" was very busy - I think next time we'll have cocktails at Cynara, then cross the street for food and wine. We were intrigued with the "Clam Chowder Entrée" which is served à la minute (Washington manila clams, bacon, cream, celery, roasted potatoes, grilled bread) -- is it a deconstructed chowder?? $33.00 Sorry no pics.
